I came here with a co-worker late at night and this place was still busy! After having one dish I…read morecan see why. The family operated restaurant has some great authentic dishes and the flavors are spot on. The staff is super friendly and they speak Spanish. I had the Shredded beef rice bowl with beans and sweat plantains. They asked me if I wanted cheese on my dish, but because I'm Puerto Rican and you never put cheese on Rice and Beans I said no thanks. But I will say that as a Latino this place took me home in a bowl. The beans were just like my wife makes, accept it's a different bean. The shredded beef had some much of that hispanic flavor I love so much. The beef was super tender and the plantains were fried to perfection. Now I know this is an Arepa bar and I should have had an Arepa but I am not a fan of Arepa's. It's a texture thing for me, but I love the items that go inside of them. As for my co-worker, He had two Arepas and a sugarcane lemonade drink and a cheese stick. He loved every bite! So Arepas are a must buy here along with a rice bowl like I had. Side note: you got to try their sauces! Their hot sauce is called Picante and is made with Habanero peppers. Look out for that one it's super hot! The garlic Sauce and the cilantro sauce taste great but the colors will confuse you. I bet when you see the sauces you'll guess the wrong color with the flavor. So to end this long review, I say yes you should stop by the place and have a meal. It's small and there is only one table so you might want to get your order to go.

I ordered the Lomo Saltado ( beef with French fries. ) it's a popular Peruvian dish, some tallarines verdes ( spaghetti in green sauce with meat and arroz chaufa ( fried rice) . The portions were good. The tallarines didn't have any flavor. Arroz Chaufa was good. My lomo saltado was ok. I was surprised that my lomo saltado didn't come mix with the fresh fries as it should be. So far the food was ok for my taste. The place has a lot of space for sitting. It could be a little bit loud because of the music but it was fine with us. If you are in the area sure I will say give it a try.

The space is filled with so many Dominican touches that brought back pure nostalgia. From the sayings and pictures of our history painted on the walls to the explanations behind them, it was beautiful to see our culture and history represented so thoughtfully, and even better that others get to learn about our country through it. Dining in with my family was a great experience. Having the option to choose from the prepared food or order directly from the menu was a huge plus. Everything we ate was incredibly flavorful and clearly made with love. I didn't just leave with a full belly, I left with a full heart. Truly a special place.

A big hit for all of us including a 2 year old! Entrees came with very good beans and the rice showed up too! The sweet plantains were very good as an added side.
