    Chicken nachos with fresh salsa

We were able to sit in two lounge chairs all day long since we ordered from the restaurant. We had four beers, two margaritas and a generous plate of nachos for $38 USD. These guys are at the end of the beach, closest to town.

We took Jet's boat tour (theincrediblejet.com) the first day we arrived in Puerto Vallarta and he took us around the coast line to a small private beach named Yelapa, in which you can only arrive by boat, there are no roads that come here. It was unforgettable! We had lunch at the only restaurant that operates in this area, Domingo's, in which we had an ocean fresh lunch, some margaritas and plenty of shots of tequila and mezcal! Being the only place here doesn't make them void of giving great service and having the friendliest of staff members! We took a short swim in the ocean right in front of the restaurant before heading back for scuba diving on the boat tour. Highly recommend both the restaurant and Jet's boat tour to come here! It was awesome! Hey also works for Estigo ATV tours which we also did the week we were in PV, also recommended.

Unbeatable service, cold beer, fantastic cocktails! They are very attentive and helpful, not pushy at all. And some of the BEST ceviche you'll ever have. You can sit on the beach in front of Domingo's and watch the fish being brought off the boat to be made for your ceviche. One morning, we wandered down and enjoyed a nice breakfast. The chilaquiles were A+! I absolutely fell in love with Yelapa and the warm, welcoming and wonderful people and culture. Domingo's was a major contributor to my great experience.

Domingos has good food, mostly geared towards shrimp dishes. The shrimp skewers, coconut shrimp and shrimp ceviche were all delicious. Our waiter was attentive and very sweet but do not be in a rush. It is in the water taxi tour group area at the beach so the prices are higher then in town. We were staying on the beach side at Casa Bahia Bonita so it was an easy walk from the hotel when we didnt wanna head into town. Yelp says it closes at 8 but its actually 6pm. If you still feel like being a bad kid after it closes but wanna head to your room go to Ericas tienda (grocery store)which is behind the restaurants and get some cold beer for the night. If the restaurants in town were closer at night we would have gone there for a little lower prices otherwise would go again for sure

Super location! Beach front view! I ordered fish tacos and it came with refried beans and rice. Honestly, it was super Duper delicious. However, I had to wait "forever" to get my platter! Somehow, my order was lost. Luckily, I had a passionfruit margarita with tajin on the rim to satisfy my palate while I waited for the tacos. Great service, Wader spoke perfect English and it's super convenient if you are on the big beach and you'll offer.

The pina coladas are second to the Raicilla. Good, fresh food, smiling service, cold beer. A must stop in Yelapa. Grab a seat either by the beach or under the Pelapa.

After looking up good places to go, Bar La Playa came up- and I'm sure glad it did! First, it's easy to get to if you're coming from North. Our Uber was easily able to drop us off without getting stuck in gridlock traffic that can affect certain roads of this area. Additionally, the location isn't a high-traffic area for tourists. That meant we were able to walk up and immediately find seats. Second, the service was top notch. I didn't get the bartenders name, but he was very welcoming, friendly, hospitable and spoke English. Just an overall cool dude and was glad to support his business. Third, the drinks were great. Finally, we were drinking 'real' drinks, not the watered down sugary stuff at the hotel. We were very satisfied with the taste of the drinks. Fourth, the prices are really good. Mexico has gotten expensive and this was a sigh of relief. You can have a great time here without feeling like you paid an arm and a leg. I highly-highly recommend making Bar La Playa your first stop when coming to this area. You're going to get great service, great drinks and all at a price that is reasonable and fair.

They use tanqueray as their house gin which is unusual but a pleasant surprise as it actually happens to be my preferred brand. I didn't have high hopes for the martini - I find that outside of major U.S. cities places end up putting in way too much vermouth - and it actually ended up being fantastic. It didn't taste too different from what I would make at home which is probably the best thing I could say about a martini (for my own personal taste). I tried a fruitier one - the Gigi - as my second and final drink. It was good but I'm just not a fruity drink person. I just wasn't equipped to handle another standard martini lol. The ambiance is phenomenal - it was both casual and comfortable yet classy. The crowd was much older than I expected although not in a bad way at all. There were lots of expats in their 50s and 60s. I was worried it would be a rowdy rooftop and by contrast it was actually a very chill vibe. Only complaint is that the bathroom is outside of the venue down the stairs and you need a key to enter, which was a bit annoying bc I wanted to use the restroom before I left and I forgot to ask for the key on my way out. Small annoyance and certainly wouldn't prevent me from going back.

Anyway, we…read morevisited one evening as several of the participants in our retreat were performing there in a musical group. The setting, as all point out, is delightful; hanging right over the beach with the boats bobbing out in the sunset-tinged water. Quite magical. That's pretty much where the magic ends. The restaurant is a real lazy, poorly run operation. Service was very challenged, slow and completely inattentive - the worst we experienced in the area by far, our orders were wrong, etc. My food was average for the area. Some fresh fish and veg. Drinks were also just average. The music was great and there is a small dance area where folks threw down. The real deal killer is the half assed way things are run there. The "steps" to a high elevated area where we sat consisted of a pile of bricks. It kind of looks like something - like an actual step. But it is just a pile of loose bricks. When leaving, my wife stepped down on this, the loose bricks shifted and she took a very serious fall - backwards and "fortunately" striking her head on a wooden chair before going flat to the concrete floor. Members of our group including medical professionals rushed to her and we were able to get her to an empty table where she recovered. Someone in the group had to ask for some ice from the bar and did get a small bag - shared between her head and ankle which was seriously sprained. Nobody from the restaurant came over, offered to help or even acknowledged that this happened. The show went on. We later heard that several other people fell - less seriously - on this same step later that evening! My wife suffered with this injury for the rest of our vacation. I have to acknowledge the kindness shown to us by several other patrons including wonderful lady who ran home and gave us a roll of KT tape to help stabilize the ankle. Never really got the chance to thank her properly. Obviously in pretty much any normal location, this would be a very serious litigious situation and gross negligence by the restaurant. Business as usual apparently at the Yatch Club. My wife is an attorney but we're not litigious folks and I feel for and respect the limited resources available in small rural towns like Yelapa. I get it. BUT there are MANY fine establishments there who would NOT put their patrons at risk with this kind of very dangerous situation. Here's a suggestion, buy 20 pesos worth of mortar and cement those fu#%ing bricks together. To me the fact that this has clearly gone on for awhile, they considered it fine, nothing was even done to stabilize the situation THAT evening after a dramatic fall that the entire restaurant witnessed - leading as I said to other falls during the evening tells you everything you need to know about this business and those running it. AVOID.
