I was robbed of my money and left to fend for myself. I booked a Dolly on 1/14/23 for my move on 1/30/23. The day I booked my Dolly, I called customer service to verify the movers will help me load up my Uhaul truck at my old apartment, travel to my new apartment and finally to unload the truck. They reassured me that they will do that. I booked 2 hours to allow for loading, travel and unloading of the truck. On the day of my move, the movers loaded my truck in 30 minutes and then said that they will not travel with me to my new apartment to unload my truck. I was left with a full Uhaul and no movers to help me unload. I called customer service right away to explain the situation. They refused to help me at all. They refused to give a partial refund. They also refused to send movers to finish the job. I had to fend for myself and move on my own. I paid $200 for 30 minutes of work just to load the truck and then to be abandoned. I am VERY disappointed in how they helped resolve the problem, and the customer service representative that day had no empathy for the predicament they left me in. Moving is already stressful, and Dolly's job is to help facilitate the move - but rather they complicated my move. I will NEVER use Dolly again. I would urge you to look elsewhere because if a problem arises during your move, chances are they will not help resolve the issue. read more

Beware do not use!!! I called them to reschedule my appointment due to truck not being ready. Instead of rescheduling they cancelled it so they can collect their fee anyway. If you reschedule there's not supposed to be any fees. Terrible customer service, lady was very rude , yelled at me! because I said I didnt cancel the appointment and wanted to speak to a manager. and then hung up on me. Now I have a fee and no movers. Save yourself the frustration and better off asking a friend for help even if you dont wanna, or doing yourself no matter how hard may be. We used dolly to move out of our 15th floor apartment. We had a very short time frame of three hours to get everything out (one elevator) and on the truck. The guys arrived early, called us when they were on the way and communicated with us as needed. They were very friendly, and we felt at ease with them as they handled our belongings. They were great at strategizing on how to best pack our truck as we would be driving it to Dallas. We really appreciated their willingness to communicate with us as they decided what to pack where. They were very honest, upfront, they showed us when they were starting and stopping the move clock. This is not an all inclusive service, be sure to buy your own furniture wrap and whatever you want to have to protect your belongings. This is an affordable service for those willing to do the legwork themselves in terms of packing. read more

I wish a ZERO STAR OPTION WAS AVAILABLE!!! I used Dolly back in July 2020 to transport $4,000 of new home appliances for me. The drivers scratched my new fridge in 6 different places causing the new refrigerator to chip and have extremely noticeable scratch marks and they also completely shattered the door on my brand new stove. I made a report while the driver and his assistant were still here and I was told there would be complete resolution by customer service in less than 3 weeks. Here we are almost 3 MONTHS later, 20 phone calls, over 70 emails (with pictures, and video from when their driver was here), coupled with lies and little to no responses and this issue for my refund to repair my appliances still has not occurred. I would NEVER RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO ANOTHER HUMAN BEING IN MY LIFE! My next step is reporting this deceitful company to the BBB. It is absolutely disgusting how Kellie W. Aka their Claims Specialist still has a job, being that she likes to not respond to emails or follow through on her word. Hopefully Kevin Shawver can get my refund pushed along the way he initially said he would- as it's been beyond ridiculous dealing with this company. Do NOT use their services by any means. I had a Dolly scheduled for two helpers to move a sofa and dining table between 1-1:30. On the day of, I received a call at 1:15 saying they were late and will arrive at 2:30. Then at 2:25, they canceled on me. Dolly then found me a new helper but they weren't available till 4-4:30 so I waited. Then at 4:25, they canceled on me. I then had a back and forth text and phone conversation with Dolly where they said the best they could do was 7:00 but only one helper was free so I needed to help carry my things. I didn't have a choice since I needed to move out so I helped do the job I hired Dolly to do in the first place so I wouldn't have to do it. I would've cancelled if I could but I had no choice since I needed to move in to my new apartment. Dolly wasted six hours of my time today and it was one of the worst moving experiences. I highly advice others to beware and at least have a back up plan if you decide to use Dolly. I will add though that the helper that came out was friendly and hard working- the one star is for him. read more

I wish I could give this negative stars. DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE. The movers stole my very expensive jewelry that I had briefly removed to wash my hands. They claim it wasn't them and Dolly hasn't done much besides tell me to file a police report. If I had know I would be letting thieves into my home to move my packed boxes into a UHaul I would never have used Dolly!! Book at your own risk, keep an eye on the movers (which I did, but but apparently not close enough) and do not let them near your valuables! Please watch out with this service in Chicago. Made reservations to have them move my apartment far in advance. It was reassigned to 2 different movers prior to my move. You definitely have no control over the people that are moving you!! Then the day of the move, they called and said they were going to be an hour delayed. After the hour delay, they called again and said they were going to be another delayed leaving a short window to move. After that last "text" it's was then CANCELLED, completely leaving me with no one. Call support and tried to speak with a supervisor. Was told no supervisor wasn't available and if I stayed on the line they would hang up! Totally shocked at this point. Had to hire an emergency service the next day which cost me hundreds more. On top of That they assessed a cancellation fee! This is all placed on a pool/bidding network of people who take your job based on profit. If your moving, stick with a Qualified movers. Not a pool of people that bid on you. I have sent four emails to management and received a lame response of a credit of $30.00 on their account. You cost me hundreds of dollars and that's your solution? If they do not compensate for the horrific position they put me in. I Will bring this to consumers affairs. Additionally, watch their post on Facebook. Commented on my experience and they deleted it 4 times. I was referred to Dolly by a friend at the Merchandise Mart and we used them to pick up a sofa there and take it to the north side, plus move an additional heavy armoire. Booking was easy, communication from our helper (Dennis T.) was terrific, and the whole thing was a smooth transaction. I would definitely recommend them and will be using them again. read more

This company is beyond bad. Our daughter reserved Dolly over 1 month in advance and the movers confirmed the evening prior to the move. Our daughter received an email at 6:38 AM letting her know that her movers will not arrive at 7:00 AM. They will keep her informed and find another crew. By 10:00 AM she was getting pretty upset because living in a downtown condo you need to reserve the elevators when moving out and also when moving in. She reserved the elevators from 8:00 until 10:00 AM for the move out and from 10:30 until 12:30 for the move in. Now it's noon and still no movers, no call back. I personally called customer service and asked to speak to their supervisor and they told me they cannot give out any names. I mentioned I did not want a name I only wanted to speak to someone in charge. She told me nobody was in and she will not give out their schedule. She told us she will call us back within 30 minutes with an update. We waited for over an hour and still no return call so I called back to ask when someone would be here. I also mentioned we had to extend the elevator times for both buildings at $60 per hour and we have 3 hours of OT. At 3:00 my wife started to call around to find any company that could move our daughter and was told everybody was booked. We finally got a hold of Wolley Movers who said they could have a 3 man crew to us by 4:00 PM so we booked them. Ronald and his crew arrived on time and had our daughter moved out within 45 minutes. We now only had 45 minuted until the freight elevator would be shut down at her new condo building. The movers hustled and got all her furniture in the building before the freight elevators were shut down. Oh, we finally heard back from Dolly who emailed our daughter letting her know they will not be able to move her out but she will be moved to the top of the list tomorrow. Unreliable will/ can cancel MID MOVE though they have accepted the list if items that you provided to book your Dolly. Show up with a half full truck of others belongings. Don't wear masks. In addition, its impossible to get in touch with customer service and when you do, there's no attempt to resolve a horrible situation. We had a 2 stop move in the city (moving in together) where freight elevators had to be scheduled and paid for. They accepted our move, then showed up with a half full truck. As such canceled on us, after the first stop. Leaving us with a $300 elevator fee and no movers or truck at the second stop. I had to then pay another $300 to book my elevator and had to extend my lease to compete the move due to scheduling conflicts. They still charged us for the first stop (only 20% of our things where they damaged our walls and didn't wear masks) and its been 30 days with no resolution from customer service. Using Dolly instead of a legit moving company is a big mistake! read more

Cancelled on me 30 minutes before my scheduled move. Completely screwed me over. Checked with the people assigned to my task the day before to confirm they were coming because I had heard of people getting cancelled on before and I wanted to ensure this didn't happen to me. They said yes they were confirmed coming. Fast forward to the day of my move, I get a notification that the movers are no longer available. I had scheduled this 3 weeks ahead of time. Terrible terrible service. Cannot discourage someone from this service enough. I was forced to get a stranger off of FB to come help me instead because every other service was booked and I had to get out of my place. Bought new couch and live seat and store recommended Dolly to have same day delivery. We didn't want a pick up truck to be used since it was raining so we chose a cargo van. We also chose a window of time that the app said was available. An automated text was sent asking if a pick up truck was OK. What!? For brand new furniture in the pouring rain?? Then a driver sent a message and asked if the recliners were motorized. No, they are manual...crickets. So, with a 2 day window, we were told AFTER original delivery time past, that our request could not be accommodated. They didn't charge the original $151 to come 6 miles so THAT was good. Rented a van, grabbed a friend and less than 24 hours and $40 later we had our furniture. WILL NEVER CONSIDER THIS SERVICE AGAIN!!! read more

The one star review is for my latest experience. I've used the service before and never had any issues. Today changed all of that. My previous experiences have been where I was alerted the driver was on the way to pick up the item. I was alerted the item was picked up and en route to me and I received a phone call from the driver stating they were outside with my delivery. This has beenno more than 60-90 minutes tops from my scheduled pick up time. All my drivers have stayed in contact with me and went above and beyond to be helpful. Today I schedule my pick up for between 11:00am and noon. I get a call from the driver saying he can't find the address. I repeat it and he states he'll call me back. He never calls back. I get a call from the seller of the items (bedframe and headboard) that his wife told him the driver left the wooden slats that go on the frame. I messaged the driver and he said the wife didn't give them to him. To my understanding everything was all together. I have to make it to the drop off location so I asked when he was arriving. He said he had a few other pick ups and he would be heading my way. My previous drivers picked up and came straight to me after but ok. I'm sending messages and tried to call to ask if he was close. I feel like he was blowing smoke up my a** because he was always heading to me. I'm typing this and still waiting and it's almost 8 hours later. It's after 8pm and he just said he was 32 minutes away!!! I'm beyond pissed!!! I had other things to do today. I used them for a Facebook Marketplace purchase. I could've got screwed by a regular delivery driver for a major furniture store. I'm just waiting to hear the excuses when he finally arrives. Never again. read more

Our original driver cancelled within 26 minutes of our original move and had to get rescheduled with a new driver and our time had to get pushed back. Living in a high rise you have to reserve your elevator and pay a fee to reserve the service elevator. Not only did we have to extend the time, but we were also out an additional $$ to re-reserve the service elevator. But it gets better! Once we got confirmed with the new Dolly movers, Dolly made the mistake by confirming two people where one of the helpers couldn't make it there in time. So I had to drive my car to meet the Dolly mover to help with the move of the furniture I purchased. The only positive experience I had was with our mover, Lawrence. He helped us get in and out and the furniture delivered all within the hour. Overall if you need to reserve your service elevator or can't be flexible with your time, I'd look somewhere else or rent your own truck for half the price. read more

Edgar G. and Gerald W. did an excellent job with a one-way move of an elliptical machine. They were extremely professional and communicated with me throughout the entire process. I do not recommend using Dolly. The whole experience was really really stressful. I booked a Dolly to help me move my peloton to my car. That's it. It cost me 50 dollars which was a good price I thought. Two days before the moving date I get a message saying they have assigned me a person. I was happy about that. The day of the move comes and the person does not show up. I called and the phone was disconnected. I texted and I got no response. I emailed dolly, and I got no response. I couldn't find their phone number anywhere!!!!! I finally remembered that they texted me to confirm they were coming, so I called that number and thankfully it worked. I speak to someone who says that I need to understand that her job is very difficult and she may or may not find someone to come move the bike. Anyway, she found someone a couple hours later and I was able to put the thing in my car just before I had to return my keys. I will never use this service again, I rather pay more and be sure someone is gonna be there. read more

Would have given 0 stars if could have. Got a quote to deliver and remove furniture. Got a message from helper all was set for hours requested. Time frame passed, nothing. I finally contacted Dolly to see what was happening and was told helper couldn't do job and had to be relisted but I needed to be more flexible. They don't wrap up your items. I feel like I did more sweat and work myself wrapping up my 4 items. Imagine wrapping up a heavy tv baseboard yourself with no help. After seeing reviews of the movers on Dolly, I knew I could trust them to get the job done, plus pay less than half the cost of others I was quoted. I have furniture that needed to be moved within 24 hours they set a time for the same day, then an hour later after speaking with another associate I was told they wouldn't be able do it until the next day! Here it is the following day at the time they said they'd be able to deliver and no call no movers with my furniture! I am livid after calling them with my concerns some lady answered the phone and said "OH, no movers are answering." Mind you i have to be at work in a couple of hours I am so frustrated! The furniture store I bought my Dining room set from promised to have the set delivered after 4 PM on Wednesday. When the delivery company called me on Tuesday they said the delivery was between 10 and two. Since I was working all day there is no way I could be there so I called the furniture company and told them. They told me they would refund me the delivery charge and referred me to this company. I immediately went on the app and within 10 minutes I had the truck ordered and I was all set for delivery. Luis texted me immediately and called me and made me feel comfortable and confident that I would get my set in the timeframe I needed. The bonus is that he put it all together!
