(I checked her BK store hours) I decided to order online although I've been warned by a previous customer not to do so. Against my better judgment and me wanting to give a try for myself despite others opinions and warning has led me to this review. I placed this order on Nov 16,2021. Ten days later and the products have still not been shipped out!(Label created but never shipped) So, I decided to inbox the owner on IG just to be told that (my order was being shipped out that day and that shipping don't include the weekend). She went on to say "she wished it wasn't shipped out because she would have refunded my $$ Her response was downright rude and inconsiderate of my frustration not to mention, she clearly lied about my products being shipped that day!! Theeee WORST customer service EVER‼. I try to be supportive of black owned businesses and this is the treatment I get! I rarely leave yelp reviews. Unfortunately I can't leave ZERO stars!!!! I've heard such great things about their products, I've decided to give it a try. I placed an order 11/23/18, During Their Black Friday sale. I Receive an email on December 10 stating my package is on its way. I live one town away from this company. December 16th, 2018, I sent a DM via Instagram. I was asked to provide my order number and my email address-which I provided with no response. I DM again on 12/19- still no response. On December 26 I get a PayPal update stating my item has shipped. It is now January 8 and I still have no package. I decided to check the tracking number provided via PayPal via USPS and to my surprise, The Tracking number is a pre-shipment label -and my package was never actually shipped. So after throughly doing my research via Yelp I knew how to prepare myself for a trip to DollHouse Cosmetics. My scheduled appointment was early as possible (12:00pm) on Saturday December 19th. My birthday dinner was later around 7:30pm and I did not mind having a beat face for the entire day. I called a few days before my appointment to confirm and the time was moved to 12:30pm. Ehh no biggie. I arrived on time and the gates were still down. -_-, I went back to my car and waited a little bit. By 1:00PM they were opened. I was greeted by Chyna who I must say had a pleasant attitude. She asked about my appointment and I was seated right away. She nor her sister didn't do my makeup application but someone else did... Throughout the makeup application Chyna & I had a thorough & fun convo about my upcoming bday festivities. Also when persons came into the store to purchase DollHouse products she was VERY informative about the items and even assisted a buyer on how to apply the product. To me thats exceptional customer service. Well on to the actually makeup application. -___-. Now, I didn't have a photo on what I wanted but I'm pretty simple and asked for a smokey eye. I have never had my eye stabbed, jabbed, and rushed EVER. By looking at my profile pics you KNOW I love a good beat face but this right here. NOPE never again. Ladies you know when your MUA applies those lashes and your eyes water a little. My whole left eye cried. Straight waterfall. Instead of giving me time to breath and stop tearing... she continued. I just placed an order on 7/24 and it is now 8/17 and still no update. 2 emails multiple DMs which she replied too but no makeup. The owner answered me every single time I contacted her on Instagram, however, she never gave me a direct answer. For 16 days I was given the run around about where the package was. Pointless promises that it was mailed, or would be mailed the following day. This is not the first time this has happened. Of the five times I ordered, 3 times I waited 30 days to receive my package. I purchased the other items from their Brooklyn location in person. To make things worse, there wasn't an apology note, or anything sent with the package. Do not get micro Blading done here I have had 4 appointments and when I show up no one is there and no one had canceled my appointment. And the shop isn't close to me it's about 45 minutes to an hour away, so that's a waste of my time and my gas. She is very unprofessional and also botched my eyebrows and never fixed it. The owner is very irresponsible when I finally got an appointment when she was at the shop (finally), she said she ran out of numbing cream. Let me start of by saying that i appreciate a young black woman starting her own line of cosmetics. I love the space of this makeup studio and the actual products used. I booked an makeup appt for bday brunch last month that was scheduled in the afternoon. The commute to this studio is about an hour from my home so I made sure to arrive on time and not a minute later. Cons: - I arrived and the makeup artist did not greet or make me feel welcome at ALL. She actually seemed annoyed. -She suggested that I "go get food or something" because she wanted to eat her breakfast. -40 minutes passed and my makeup appt still did not start. By this time, she was running behind schedule. Clients packed the studio and with no seats tavailable, it became very crowded. -when she finally began, she realized that she has left her entire makeup brush bag at home. (which caused an additional wait time) - No moisturizer or primer was applied, and this is almost always necessary escpecially for someone like me who has very oily skin Pros: - The makeup job was nicely done This business is still trying to brand itself so hopefully they will take my concerns into consideration. Because of the lack of professionalism, I was an hour and a half late to the bday brunch. (the sole purpose of me getting my makeup done). Respecting a clients time and money is very important in business. It also wouldnt hurt to crack a smile and greet a client so that they can report back a positive experience. Lastly, more seating is needed and maybe a designated area for the owner's young children would be nice, because all of the constant running around can be irritating. read more

I wish I didn't have to give any stars!!!!!! As much as I love to support black women and black business...This place is a scam and fraudulent. Against my better judgement, I placed an order during the cyber monday sale for two items. Upon receiving my delivery, I discovered that one of the two items were missing. I reached out via dm providing all details and a picture of the package that contained only one item. I was instructed to send an email. I did that and all I received was an email stating that my item would be sent the next day. I reach out the next day via email to inquire of the updated status and tracking and no response. I send another email that evening and no response. I reach out on IG the following day and asked can I just go to the actual store and pick it up and I was told (obviously a lie) that my item had been already been shipped. I then proceed to say well I didn't receive any updated tracking and I also inform them that normal companies provide updated tracking. After going back and forth and I was told well normal companies don't respond on dm (that is correct...mainly the ones that like to lie and scam like this one) and that she had been in touch with the shipping department and I would receive updated tracking. How is that possible when my item should have been sent out 2 days ago. The lies on top of lies. It is now 4 days later and no item and no email. I then had to open a dispute in which this company provided them with the original tracking number to say I received my item. (I have all communications and receipts and screenshots of every convo by the way). I booked with Tot back in October for my graduation dinner the same evening. Worst experience ever! First of all, I booked a12pm appointment (mind you, I drove from NJ) and while sitting in my car in front of the shop , I get a call at 12pm from her "assistant" that she was running 30 min late. First of all, I asked the assistant if she can add eye makeup to the session I booked, and she said she would have to ask her. She called me back and said Tot said she didn't have time to do that! But you came late! Ok, strike one. I call 30 min later to ask if she's there and if I can come in, I was then told she's not there yet and is running another 15 min late. Strike two. I decided to walk in to the shop and wait for her she still didn't show up until a whole hour later!! I'm a bit furious because my time is just as important as yours and everyone else! Plus I had things to do before my dinner. She finally strolls in and starts in my makeup . (Let me just say I've gotten my makeup done at Dollhouse twice before in the past and never had a complaint.) She rushes doing my makeup. When she's done, instead of asking ams making sure I like it she's grabbing her phone to run out the door. Not even asking or waiting to see if I want to purchase any of their makeup. Instead, she rushes out to go next door to the barber shop to "chat it up". I walk out the shop after her and saw her in there! I just shook my head and got in my car. Never again will I EVER let her touch my face to do my makeup! She is completely unprofessional all around! (Time management sucked, professionalism sucked, and friendliness was a hard no for me) I hope she learns how to treat everyone and their time with more consideration! My friend made an appointment with Chyna at her Jersey location and asked me to accompany her. She was super excited to have her microblading appointment as she had been looking at Chyna's page for quite some time. Here's where the bullshit begins. We arrive and there's no one at the receptionist desk,cool. Her son so happened to be sitting in the front playing his video games and daughter is there as well and that's no problem. I hear voices in the back as I'm ringing the bell on the desk,but no one seems to be coming, so her son calls out to her in a whisper so she clearly wasn't able to hear him. After 15-20 min of waiting(my friend had a 12pm appointment btw and we were there on time) I walk to the back and introduce myself and Chyna that my friend is there for a 12 o'clock appointment. Chyna's face scrunches up and she says "12 o'clock appointment!?" as we walk to the front of the shop. My friend interjects and says "Yes a 12 o'clock appointment that I made with your assistant" Chyna says "oh ok no problem,give me a moment, I'm with another client" cool. We go get something to eat, come back and she still hasn't finished, so Chyna puts numbing cream on my friend. So we wait some more and finally she's finished with her client. I'm familiar with microblading which is why I accompanied my friend with to this appointment. The way Chyna drew her brow on isn't what I was familiar with,but I held my tongue and in my head I said "well everyone is different" so I let her proceed. Needless to say Chyna rushed my friends brows because she had a dentist appointment set for her kids. My friend wasn't satisfied with her brows and expressed that to Chyna at a later date and she said she would correct everything at the touch up appointment. The touch up appointment was rescheduled at least 4 times due to excuses (lies) before my friend just gave up and took her money elsewhere. I briefly spoke to Chyna while I was there and she was impressed with my knowledge of the work she does and asked if I'd be interested in working with her, stating that "Sisters must stick together" and "We must support black owned businesses" . I would never work with someone so unprofessional,she's a bad representation of black owned businesses and I'm truly surprised that's she's even still in business with all the bad reviews and comments I see throughout social media. I dreaded writing this review which is why I took so long to do so. Someone inboxed me asking about the service when I got Microblading done. I was going to lie about the service I received because this is a business and I know some people work entirely too hard to keep it up and running. The truth is the truth though. Here it goes So I found out about Chyna from my cousin who found her on instagram. My eyebrows were jacked up and so I searched long and hard for someone to help me. When I went to Chyna's page and saw the marvelous work she done I was super excited. I just knew she would hook me up. My first visit was good. It was painful so I just knew my eyebrows were going to be lit. Lol. When I looked in the mirror I was in love. As days went by, going through the process; peeling, itching and fading, I had two more visits with Chyna so I was cool for the paper said my brows would go through the transition. To make a long story short, I ended up going to Chyna more times than expected because my eyebrows were jacked up. They weren't even, hairs were falling off and I continued to go to her because she's the professional and she told me she could fix them. Every time, I was told they can be fixed. I trusted her and believed she'll make them right but instead they were getting worse. They faded, my hairs continue to fall out and I have to use wunder brow in order to have descent eyebrows. I wish she would have kept it real with me and just told me she couldn't fix them. I'm so hurt behind this but I forgive her with my jacked up eyebrows. Ok ok ok! Even after hearing bad things, and seeing other reviews, I took a chance and ordered from this company. Their makeup looks so bomb on instagram, I wanted to try badly. It's not like I'm visiting ny anytime soon so ordering was my only option. I ordered the foundation, concealer, and HD baking powder. It took about 14 business days to receive my order. So what do I think? Let me say the foundation color (DW3) is spot on. I was color matched by sending a makeup free picture via Instagram DM. I am impressed by chyna's color matching skills. I never wear foundation but I had to try theirs. It is light to medium coverage. It's very smooth on the skin. In the past with other companies I had to mix two shades. No worries for me with this company. I definitely recommend the foundation and yes I would order it again. I had been dying to try the concealer cause I heard the consistency is amazing. I am not a fan of the concealer. It's way too thick and not in a good way. The applicator is not good. The concealer is way too hard to blend out and dries extremely fast. The color (DW1)is good but I like an extreme highlight under my eyes. The setting powder (color butter pecan) is great. It doesn't leave any flashback and looks smooth on the skin. I would buy again. With this company I guess you have to take a risk. It seems some people get their products and some never receive at all...yeah that's weird!! I can say their products are bomb. Ok so its been exactly a year since I had my experience with Ms.Chyna and her Dollhouse brand. & I always said i was going to write a review but never got around to it. so I set up an appt to get mine and a friends makeup for a bridal shower for June 2016. I showed up to her Brooklyn spot in March to book it. She was there & very friendly, complimenting was non stop, and she overall had a dope vibe. She kept saying I cant wait to do it! I was telling her how other girls in the bridal party are going to be using someone else who I'm not comfortable using because shes not a professional makeup artist..So Chyna's response was: " Oh God! Ima try n keep my mouth shut but if it look crazy ima say something. " As the date got closer I kept contacting her jus to confirm. About 5 days before she says OMG i cant do yr makeup that day because its my birthday and my boyfriend planned a trip out the country! So the day before I get a text from someone saying they are the one doing my makeup for me n my fren for the wedding and wanted to know some details of what look I was going for...ok so i send her a screenshot of Chynas work . shes like ok, then she calls me and she has a name i dont recognize.....(So im like i dont know Chynas sisters name off the top of my head but I know it when I hear it cuz I follow her on IG ) so i ask her : Are you Chyna's sis...She goes No i work for Chyna thou...Now im like WTF!!!!!?!? NOooo this is not what i agreed to! shes like im so sorry but now her sis too had an emergency and im the only one available to do yr makeup... At this point I'm feeling sooo defeated like WTF! this is not a bday party its my BEST FRIENDS WEDDING! like u cant have those pics looking crazy. But what are my options right now! the day before! SO as reluctant n pissed as I am i continue to use Dollhouse girls. The apptmt was 9am this random "employee" was 2 hrs late. Then when she came her makeup case materials looked crazyyy i was like waittt a minute!! tht shit look like she bought that at the nearest CVS! and Indeed there were NO dollhouse cosmetics used!!!! She was pressing mad hard on my face with the tiniest brushes. Ok im no professional makeup artist but I knowwww you dont use eyebrow brushes to put on full face!! thts the kind of brush she was using! at the end i looked like I watched Youtube for the first time and made a decent attempt on my first makeup application! it was crazzyyyy!!!! Andddddd on top of all thisss her "employee" had the nerve to be rushing me! Keep telling us oh how shes running late she has another appointment in Brooklyn n we were in Harlem n shes taking the train.. in my head im like OK ANDDDDD WTF tht gotta do with me???? So after all this i hated my makeup and by the time it was my friends turn the lady rushed her it looked like she jus woke up frm sleeping on her makeup. It was crazy. and after have the nerve to tell me the total! At this point many would say : "whyyyy did u pay??? " But what was i suppose to do????? Im already late because of her , am i suppose to wash it off and go to my BFFs wedding with lipgloss and eyelashes??? Like Idk wht i was suppose to do. So i paid her Ok so once she left everyone was like nahhhh Whyyyyy did u pay her that shit looks crazy!!! i was like soooo upset! So okay whatever went to the wedding. The next day Ms. Chyna was contacted! I was sooo upset I paid $150 for NOTHING!!! Surprisingly she was very understanding and was like OMG you shouldn't have paid her i would've been ok with that. She understood she messed up and felt bad. She asked me to send her pics and she too was totally shocked and was like was that the finisheddd producttt???? So she now says she will reimburse me for the impact her disorganized business has left me. ok cool! So for 5 months i wanna say I kept in contact with her looking for my reimbursement. Every phone call or text she responded to! so this action made me believe she was truly going to live up to her end because she kept making it seem as thou she was soo sorry and that she was busy and going thru alot n so forth! Even the woman who did my makeup contacted me and was like " I was told that you and your friend didn't like yr makeup...I was like yes thts true. Terrible service - just awful. Dollhousetot is the sister company to Dollhouse and she was not friendly at all and quite arrogant. Instead of using wax on my eyebrows, she told me once I got in her CHAIR that she "ran out of wax strips" and proceeded to use a razor blade on my eyebrows!! Next, her "mink clusters" were just beauty supply store lashes cut into 4 pieces and then unevenly glued to your lash. Please do not waste your money on the "Brow Clean and Mink Lask Cluster" service or anything for that matter. She's bogus and fraudulent. I'm all for supporting a black businesswoman but I will NEVER go back to DollHouse Pretty for ANY service. I've been fighting back and forth with myself about posting this review but too many people have asked me so i'll just post it. I went to DollHouse Pretty's Brooklyn location for eyebrow tinting and eyelash extensions. I had an appointment and was seen roughly 35 minutes after the scheduled time. The girl who did my eyelashes complained the whole time she did my lashes (and others) about how she has clients in Jersey and she was gonna be late to their appointments. She literally stood over me cursing the whole time. She RUSHED putting my lashes on (took less than 10 minutes to apply what was supposed to be individual mink lashes) and it smelled like she was using crazy glue (which turns out she was because about 3 days later when I went to another place to get the lashes removed because my eyes were hurting so bad the woman confirmed that eyelash glue was not used to apply the lashes and that she did not apply the lashes individually but clumped multiple lashes together in one spot which is the reason why my eyes were hurting. My natural lashes were being pulled and strained) The girl who did the tinting was sweet but within 2 days the product was completely gone. That was the most money I've ever wasted in one location. The service was completely horrible and the customer service was minimally satisfying. I wouldn't recommend this location for ANYTHING even in the case of an emergency. Very unprofessional, Chyna doesn't do your makeup, it's her rude sister. She did my makeup twice, loved it the first time, they greeted me nicely and even gave me a glass of champagne. I purchased over $100 worth of products from her website, not only did i recieve my order 6 weeks later, when i called her store to ask about my very late order CHYNA herself was ridiculously RUDE!! Chynna was very unprofessional as soon as I entered her business.., she didn't greet my friend and I... All she said was "do y'all have an appt?" She had a lot of attitude in her voice when she spoke to me and my friend. I gave her simple instructions on how I wanted my make up done.... She literally rushed my make up she showed no interest in doing my make up andddddd it was for m BIG dinner party.... When she got done I got up and looked in the mirror and I wanted to cry....
