I've used Blushington a few times, but my last hair/makeup appointment was a not a good one. I asked for a blowout with slight curls to make my hair look a little thicker. The stylist was on her phone for most of my blowout which really made me anxious about time since I was going straight to an event. My hair, despite being left in "Oh, Mary!"-style ringlets when I left (no brushout, final styling or extra hairspray), fell flat within an hour. My makeup appointment was worse. I asked for a bold lip and cheeks, and minimal eye makeup since I have sensitive skin. I asked for a lip to match my berry-colored coat -- a color that could last through most of the night. My makeup artist proceeded to tell me that nothing would last through the night (come on, there are lipsticks and lip stains that sell on being longlasting), and told me why my lip color choice was all wrong. She then just gave me the look she wanted to give me, which was minimal all over, and told me all about my dry skin and dark circles. Also she tried to sell me on their makeup products, which why would I buy at this point. I basically shut down after all this, and left feeling extremely ugly. I ended up redoing my makeup at home, with the bold lip I wanted. I basically just wasted almost $200 for flat hair and having to do my makeup anyways. Jess listened to my makeup wants and gave me a mirror throughout so I could tell her whether I wanted more or less of any. Tanar was equally amazing with an exceptional attention to detail. I came here for a full face of makeup for a red carpet event. When I walked in, I was offered something to drink as I sat down. The makeup artist asked what I was getting ready for and I explained my concerns that prompted me to get my makeup done which were that (1) foundation would often crack and be oily at the same time, (2) eye makeup tends to give me raccoon eyes (3) and my event was going to last several hours so I needed something long-lasting. The makeup artist was super nice. I can tell she was listening to concerns. The foundation base was pretty much flawless. She put a lot of care into making sure that my foundation base was silky and hydrated and gave me tips in case my face were to get oily. We agreed to still do eye makeup but just the eyeshadow and not the mascara or falsies (since I had my own falsies and mascara I was comfortable with) so I left the store with a soft glam look in terms of eyeshadow. However, as soon as I looked in the mirror when I get home after the appointment, the eye makeup she put on immediately was smudging and giving me raccoon eyes within less than an hour and was persistent after that. Not really sure why that happened but it made me extremely paranoid for my event where I was having professional photos taken and I had to check my face every 10 minutes to make sure. One of the only places in the city, if not the only one, where you can get your hair styled and make up done. They accept walk ins. They offer the most delicious champagne. And they are bomb at what they do. You can totally get ready for whatever event you have there. They also have makeup classes and host events ( space rental opportunities). The staff are all so sweet and knowledgeable they really care about the client. And they offer skin treats and sell the products used.. I can't say enough good things about this salon, it's my special place! read more

Everyone is very nice there but I wanted to share my experience in case someone is considering their services (especially if it is the day of the event), since I walked out of the salon looking awful. After 3 hours and $250 spent on bridal hair and make-up trial, I looked like my 6 y.o. niece applied my makeup. One of the fake eyelashes was applied way higher than my own lash line so it was so obvious I had fake lashes and my eye looked weird with "two lash lines". The eyebrows was the second worst part. Essentially a very noticeable thick line of shadow of the wrong shade around my own brows making it look very off. When my fiancée saw me, he asked if I can wash my face and do my usual makeup. The hair turned out so frizzy and simple, no volume despite 1.5 hrs of painful teasing (even though I was saying ouch, the stylist failed to be more gentle with pulling my hair). read more
