A drybar in my hotel- a dream come true! My blowout salon back at home does such an amazing job…read morethat my hair was still looking pretty good on Monday from the Friday before. However, my friends wanted to get blowouts before a dinner and I'm not one to pass up a blowout. I used to be super particular about the stylist I saw, but thanks to a good keratin my hair is pretty well trained and most do a good job. That being said the stylist I saw was pretty well skilled and I'm kicking myself that I don't remember her name! She had my hair washed, blown out and styled with perfect beach waves in 25 minutes. 5 days later I'm still rocking the blowout and while it may not be quick as good as what i get back home, it was pretty good. I also pay more here than I do at my salon at home, but it's NY and i have a package at home that helps with pricing. Overall, it was a good experience and I'd go back. I was impressed to see they were quite busy on a Monday and a few other women were multitasking with their laptops while they got their hair done.

I've been a BarFly for almost 3 years and have visited Drybars all across the US, from California…read moreto Hawaii to Nevada. This is THE worst Drybar I've ever been to. I went 3 times, and on each occasion I experienced terrible customer service. The first time, I showed up 5 minutes early and wasn't seen until 30 minutes into my appointment time. The second time, I showed up around 10 minutes late. I waited about 7 more minutes until Griselda came out and told me I was 17 minutes late (not true because no one came and helped me for a while) and they wouldn't be able to see me. The third time, I came late and called beforehand, with someone confirming that was ok. When I got there, Griselda scolded me for being late in front of other customers. Completely rude and unprofessional. When she did my hair, she was extremely rude and passive-aggressive, whacking me in the head with the brush and just getting up and walking away without saying anything when both my wash and styling were completed. If you wish to have a positive and relaxing experience, do NOT come to this drybar and do NOT have Griselda as your stylist.

She spent quite a bit of time and came with a complete pro kit. I would definitely use this service again and request Stephanie. I found them on Yelp and took a chance that worked out well. I am so disappointed and would not recommend anyone to this place. After Dimitry looked at my hair…read morehe said he would going to charge me 35$ because of the length(which is understandable) and 85$ for color. I was taken back with that. He said that the groupon I purchased covered the bleach and for the color it was going to cost 85. I was already there so I did not want to walk out but honestly I should have. Dimitry did not know how to handle my hair. I have Indian hair. In addition to the that he did not have a good brush to brush through my wet hair. He was using a hand size travel brush. I was in so much pain, I offered to brush my own hair. This is someone who styles hair you would think he would have some knowledge to part my hair into smaller pieces before combing it through. NOPE. He cut my hair really good. Which is the reason I am giving 2 stars. My hair is so much fuller. I love the bounce. But man my hair color is horrible. I wish I took the time to observe my hair at the salon but I did not. He did even show my the back of my head. I have so many colors in my hair. Some parts are blonde, Bronze and others are orange. Don't believe me look at the pics. My balayage also looks like streaks. I am so upset I spent about 200 and my hair looks like this. Do not go here.

I have seen Titi, Vanessa and Sebastian who I like and do the color well, but the pricing is inconsistent and has tried to be hiked up almost 50%. The blowdry prices have increased exponentially so when you get a color you need to blowdry your own hair or pay more than $75 extra. They no longer serve the same beverages so it's not even a relaxing experience. The salon is likely having increasing costs (such as their new space in the Plaza) which they are passing to their customers but they aren't keeping the service and customer experience in line. Really disappointed but would highly suggest finding another salon in the area.

When you ask for a simple low bun and end up with a mess…read more.. I did a test run at glam and go and thank goodness I did. I'm not good at doing my own hair so Glam and Go sounded like the perfect solution for finding someone to put my hair into a simple bun before an event. It looked ok when the girl was done, but was much bigger than I was expecting. It was the size of a sock bun style topknot, but at the nape of my neck. This wasn't what I wanted (again I had asked for a simple bun low down), but since this was a trial it wasn't a big deal. However, my hair had come half undone by the time I got home (less than a 20 min cab ride). I looked like a hot mess. I wrote a complaint to the business, but never heard back. I definitely don't feel comfortable using this service in the future...unless I'm going for the bed head look.

I arrived at the location which is inside an equinox gym and was greeted by a receptionist who was also my stylist. I had booked for the 15 minutes express option which was $25. My stylist was friendly and asked what I needed my hair done for and how I would like it. I told her tight big curls because my hair is very fine and loose curls will not stay in for the length of my event. She did curl my hair tight but she used a thin barrel curler so I looked like Shirley Temple and at the end she brushed my hair out so they weren't tight anymore. I was a little annoyed be it didn't really look great at all and I could do a better job curling my hair. At least when I checked in on yelp I got $10 off so it only cost me $15 but even if it was that much money all the time I would not come back to get my hair done for an event. I ended up having to re-curl a bunch of my hair before I left because it didn't look good.
