I went on thursday 03/13/2025 for my hair treatment and blowout. The owner, Jacqueline Bezjon, had asked me to come on 03/13/2025 so she could see my hair, give me advice, and help me with my hair. However, when I arrived at the salon, she was not there. Instead, another male stylist was present. He performed the Milbon Repair 5-Step Conditioning Treatment, but when I asked him how it could be considered five steps if he was just shampooing and applying conditioner, he jokingly said that rinsing the hair is part of the steps! What a joke. After all that, I didn't feel any difference in my hair, and he couldn't even do the blow-dry properly. I was very disappointed. The owner, Jacqueline, just gives empty promises. This salon is not worth visiting--they are simply ripping off customers. I would never recommend anyone to go there.. read more

She has mad skills. As an artist and a person. She made me so comfortable to be there. Espresso. Water. Kindness. Spending time with me to learn who I am, so she could conceive of the right cut for me. I am a male with shortish hair who likes to be well groomed but also have the choice to alternate between a conservative and more carefree hair style. Even before the cut began she had my trust. Her sense of me and what to do for me was quite keen. She is a total natural. Efficient but never rushed. Hand eye coordination perfect. She listens and responds but achieved something much better than I could have envisioned by myself. Color. Cut. Lightly staining the grey out of the sides. (She stained me three times so as not to overstain and the result was a balance with the subtle highlights she applies to the top.) the end result made it look completely natural. She even talked me out of something that would have looked artificial. At my request she suggested two products. One that is solely available at Roberto's. (Roberto, a fabulous stylist himself, is very relaxed and not proprietary over customers. He paired me with Sofia originally. He runs a very relaxed spot with no bs.) Sofia cares deeply about her work and her regular clients, and it should be noted even my first haircut was done with great care. If you are a NYer looking for quality, efficiency and value, you cannot do better than Sofia. If you are a visitor to the city who keeps his or hair well maintained somewhere else in the world, she will sustain you until you get back to your favorite hairstylist and colorist in your corner of the world. Passed by today and thought I'd get a cut. Just so you know, I'm a 21 year old guy with short hair. I usually style it swept over to my left - but recently it hasn't been sitting properly or styling as I wish so I thought I'd go get a cut. From beginning to end, the experience here was phenomenal. Roberto was amazing. He washed my hair, it was very relaxing but at the same time you could see he was really putting effort in to give it a good clean. Then there was the cut. I was amazed at the precision of which he was cutting my hair. He was so focused and zoned in, I was amazed. We didn't talk the entire time - I was just watching in awe of how caring he was. Every strand of hair, he wanted it perfect. He even advised me on how my hair should be styled - it turned out that I was having it swept over to the wrong side of my face. He was right, my hair sits so tidier now. Roberto is the man! He takes such pride in his work. I felt like I was a piece of art, and he was perfecting it. Honestly. I was blown away by how much he cared. The cut was $50 and he didn't leave me an option to tip him. He just said that the tip isn't needed. I felt bad and was unsure, but he insisted. I was sick of having long hair and ready to take the plunge to short hair. This salon is kinda fancy pants. The neighborhood, it overlooks Central Park and is in the Trump Bldg. I'm never in this area so I was a little overwhelmed by the tourists and the money but got over it quickly. But super cool and angled w/o being hipster cool girl (no offense to all the hipster cool girls, I just can't pull that off). HORRIFIED. I won't say which stylist cut my hair, because they had cut my hair at another salon for a while and I'm still in shock about what happened here. One, the owner has a habit of calling women "Honey" and "Darling" like we're idiots. I was in a bit early, the shampoo was lackluster, as if she could barely be bothered. My stylist was with another client who repeatedly had to ask to shorten their hair more and was visibly trying not to get upset. In the next chair, another stylist was blow drying a client's bob, who repeatedly said she was hurting her with the brush as she did it. I had a gut instinct to leave and ignored it. My turn. I had a picture of a simple short bob with long bangs. I had a bit of a shag in the back and distinctly said take it off. I repeatedly said to take length off. "You'll be sorry", I was told, but with no details or advice on why! I got side-swept bangs and a blow dry that looked like a bob. The next morning I woke up, showered and faced the mirror to find myself WITH THE SAME CUT I WENT IN WITH, duck tail and all. I was furious, most of all at the deceit, and called to salon. They were belligerent but offered to fix it, which I rejected, based on all the above. I intend to file a BBB complaint and get my $$ back. PS. [Went to a $20 walk-in place in my neighborhood uptown. New stylist was appalled and said I never got a bob, the layers were all wrong and hard. Considering what he had to work with--he's a genius and saved me. I was really impressed he walked over before I got shampooed, checked my hair (for dryness) and told the girl to wash only once). I've been going to Junko for several years and will never stop, I've lived all over the USA and can say without a doubt she is the best hair stylist I've ever encountered. I feel fortunate to have found her. I'm a guy and usually guys don't receive compliments about their hair like a female does, especially when I keep my hair very short. After my first haircut, I was sold. I went to work the next day and people actually noticed the difference. They noted how even and balanced it was. Junko is very careful and detailed. Even when she's done if she sees something that isn't "perfect" she takes the time to make it so. I never feel rushed and as an added unrelated bonus she is a kind and pleasant person that is always cheerful. As I said at the beginning, I will never go to anyone else. Hi, unfortunately I'm making an ammendment to my first post of 10 days ago! I went back so they can correct the toner and the correction made my roots golden brown so my expensive dye job looks like I did it myself. The first time I spoke to Germano I requested a process called color melt and I got shadow roots so make sure that the communication is perfect I did show him pics yet it looked totally different when he was done. I have been going to Mikio for over ten years now, having followed him from a previous salon. Altough it's quite a schlep since I've moved to Connecticut, it's still well worth the time and effort.
