The female worker at the cashier wanted to get her family in (they were right in front of us) and lied to the rest of the line that was in the building already they it would be fine. Her family was the only family that was allowed to take professional photos with Santa before security came to cut the line off. Nepotism at its finest despite the fact it was already 4p. Common sense and common courtesy was lacking in Christmas spirit today. Luckily, Santa had the Xmas spirit and took selfies with the rest of us in line (the long line outside, I'm not so sure). The employees need to be trained in managing the line better and cutting it off before people stand in line for over an hour. Thanks, Santa! Next year they should have two monitors - one to take the photos and the other so people can select. Then all the employees can be doing something useful at all times to keep the line moving along. Otherwise, it was the same person - the photographer taking the photos, helping choose the photos, explaining the packages, etc. Super inefficient when there is a line - you could tell they weren't used to it.

The decorator "Clara" who was assigned called an hour before the appointment and canceled. She said she was in her call and couldn't talk, but said she would call me to reschedule. I assumed she would call the same day. Instead, she called me 4 days later. I called and complained to Penneys. A "manager" called me back and left a voice mail message saying "Clara" is the only employee in the East Bay. We bought our house 29 years ago and Penneys sold us window coverings for the whole house. Years later we hired them again to replace most of the first original ones. Now I will never hire Penneys again. There employees are totally unreliable and the company just doesn't care about being in this business.

Word of warning: Whatever you do don't come here on bingo nights. The parking becomes a nightmare…read moreand not only will the spaces be taken but people start parking illegally in non-parking spaces. Some of the lot behind the buildings is dark at night and I haven't seen security around in awhile so I'm always cautious about my belongings being stowed away ahead of time in my trunk/boot. But thankfully I've never had any problems of any kind. Remember there's one vehicle entrance that has traffic spikes so adhere to signage especially when you're driving out of the lot. Why four stars for the Square?? I remember coming to Foothill Square Shopping Center as a teen and there were very few redeeming qualities as I recall. I ventured here in the old days if another young family member needed hair supplies or a outfit from one of the local businesses. Even though the dollars were local it didn't offer a stable financial institution like the Wells Fargo or any semblance of fresh produce like the stock at FoodCo. I'm not a huge consumer of either business but at least the neighborhood has some access to the basic services without being forced to leave their residential area.

The remodeled shopping center looks great. Visually lots of upgrades and some much needed stores. The grocery store is particularly appreciated for nearby residents. I know certain neighborhoods can become food deserts where fast food junk is the only option. Security guards are around which is great. I've never had any issues with my cars while parked and at Bingo but I know a friend who has. I'm convinced it has to do with his fancy flashy car - a Camaro - it is just asking for attention. Sometimes attention can be good. Sometimes attention can be bad. Under some circumstances its best to be invisible. I think there is a Ross and a Devita blood dialysis place there. All places that are great to have in a mostly residential neighborhood.
