Dollar tree is great when you need certain items. I buy my cleaning supplies here like comet cleanser, toilet bowl cleaner etc. I also buy party supplies, greeting cards, holiday decor, candy for the movie theater, windshield wiper fluid for my car and kitchen supplies like tinfoil and plastic bags. It ends up being quite a savings. This location seems to be limited on quite a few items other locations carry. I'm not sure if that is because it's so busy and items sell out or that they just don't order as much as some of the other stores. Often times I've come in and there's lots of boxes in the aisles that haven't been unpacked yet. Until recently, the staff was very limited and there was usually only one maybe two people working. The past few times I've been in, there's been at least three or four people which is a significant improvement. The lines are shorter and move faster. Things also seem to be more organized and well stocked than they have been in the past. On my most recent visit, I stopped in looking for some St. Patrick's Day items, but it was a few days before the holiday so they were sold out. I know this is usually the case because they start putting holiday merchandise out well in advance, but I thought I'd give it a shot. I also needed a greeting card for a friend who had just had surgery. They had quite a nice selection of cards and I ended up getting a Hallmark card for $.50. What a bargain. Prices have gone up significantly on certain items I used to buy, to the point that they are no longer a deal. I just skip those items. Other items they no longer carry, but for the most part I always can find something that I need or some fun item that I don't, like the super sized pool noodle that I grabbed on this last visit. This is a very neat, organized, and full of great deals from greeting cards, wrapping paper, gift, bags, toys, seasonal items, and more. They also have cleaning supplies, food, items, and snack items as well. The store is clean and very organized for a dollar tree. I love all the deals that I got from the store. read more

This review is for the Dollar Tree on Melrose in Vista: the shelves are often bare and the male manager and cashiers are extremely rude compared to all of the surrounding Dollar Tree Stores. A few decent cheap items here that are worth getting, but a lot of stuff is too cheaply made to be durable for a significant period of time. Food selection is pretty bad, but at least they have some food I guess? I mostly come here for a few household items such as dish soap which is much cheaper here than Amazon. Where this store mostly falls short for me is the cashiers are so slow and they only have 1 cashier it seems and long lines quickly form and are not handled at a priority speed and no backup cashiers seemed to be called for. This could be the last store standing after CVS Pharmacy will be closed on May first. Service is ok, try to shop when high school is in session, the selection for us is usually - garbage bags, toothpaste, cards, hand soap and Sunday U-T newspaper (for $2.17). The whole Albertsons plaza is slowly going down, with small businesses going out of business and empty store fronts are not being replaced. read more

We frequent this spot. They actually recognized my kids even when one lost their phone. They returned the phone to us within an hour of losing it and running all kinds of errands. The person checking me out wearing a mask was very rude. Didn't have a name tag. Ignored me also. Acted like I was an issue because I had more than 5 items. Kept pushing/ touching my things when i was trying to bag them. Then helped another person as I was trying to get my things together still. Didn't even give me a moment to finish. Not even a hi, when I said hello. I could get past that but don't touch my stuff with disrespect. If you don't like your job don't make other people feel uncomfortable too. Weird experience. I get that I came a day before a holiday but the balloons were under inflated. The strangest part to me was the cashiers facing the customers but telling to each other vs facing each other to speak for a moment. Cashier also answered her personal phone while in the middle of scanning my items to speak with her son. Wasn't an emergency from the sound of it. I travel alot...and I'm frugal. This Dollar Tree was HUGE and so clean i was so excited to keep shopping. I mean seriously how can you buy a $3dollar steak and $1.25 steak fries....and with $1.25 canned vegetables anywhere else in the world??? The store was IMMACULATE. Fun store to get some sweets and party goodies. We like to get balloons and gift bags here. They have celebratory cups & seasonal mugs. Kitchen gadgets, cleaning supplies, cold case foods, and ginger snaps, and organizing baskets, and beauty supply items. Did I mention they have ginger snaps!?! Items are about $1.25 each. So a little off branch of the dollar tree yet it's still the cheapest convenience store around. Somedays it's more organized and cleaner than others. It can be hit or miss. Came in and the customer restroom was conveniently out of order, I let my toddler use the other restroom labeled with an added sign "employees only" that was conveniently working and was approached by an unidentified old weird male with tatted sleeves that didn't identify himself as an employee but looked homeless. He made it an issue that I allowed my child to use the restroom and said we couldn't do whatever we wanted. Overall, it was unprofessional and he was weird to he near the restroom while a small girl was in it. I had to ask him to leave us alone while we used the restroom. It made us so uncomfortable we left before we could buy anything and had planned on getting a bunch of fun Halloween goodies. The other employee had on sunglasses at 7 pm and a mask. It was just weird and wildly inappropriate and unprofessional. No old male should be near the restroom while a little girl, or any girl is in it for that matter. I've been to this dollar tree twice, both times have been such horrible service. the cash register began bagging my items up, so i thought he was going to bag all my items and then he just left it on the counter and began to help the next person putting their things next to mine leaving both of us standing there thinking whats going on. the person before me bought two balloons and he didn't inflate them for her. didn't communicate he was calling for help. she asked him "do i just wait here for you to inflate it?" and he ignored her. he charged me for multiple bags and only gave me one. when i brought it up to him all he did was shrug. this is probably the WORST dollar tree i've been too. next time ill make a further drive and go to a different one. never will be back to this one again. read more

How could you not like a store where everything costs $1? You can buy food, cards, kitchenware, even reading glasses. The only complaints about this store: It's not big enough. And the selection changes. So if you find something you like, buy it because if you go back it might be sold out. And there's no guarantee that they will carry it again. Parking spaces in front of the store are a little tight. So if you don't want your car dinged up, park "across" the lot. Tip: Avoid this store in the early afternoon. Because the high school gets out and some parents use this shopping plaza to pick up their kids. And the rest of the kids cut through the plaza to get to the bus stop. read more

I decided to go to the Dollar Tree because I got to talking about these stores and how I haven't been to one in ages. The store was clean and things were laid out well. I found a couple deals. I like coming here for either reasonable priced holiday decor. Also for other small item, hand soap, Kleenex, and their candies. They also have some great garden decor during the spring. The store is very clean and orderly. Customer service is good, not friendly but good. Beware of front store parking. Dollar tree is in the Albertsons plaza. Messy at times due to the crowds but it's not always like that. Walking distance for high school students, they sell school supplies, binders, posters, etc. Variety of items for your everyday needs. Dollar tree is one of those good and bad places. Unfortunately like most is Shadowridge where we used to live it sucks. I lost my atm card so tries to use a check. After 3 checks which their machine "ate" I left my stuff. Are you kidding me. A check is a valid legal tender and because your machine doesn't work you can't take it? Really? So I went in to this store with balloons that I bought the day before in a different dollar store. They were for Father's Day so I wanted to make sure they were perfect. I walked in and saw a guy putting stuff on the front shelf. I asked him " excuse me, but can I get these blown up ? I purchased them the day before and I have my reciept" he cut me off in an angry way and said no you don't know what you are talking about and neither doesn't the person who told you that. He said I'm the manager and I know the policy. He was super rude and aggressive. An older lady was walking out the store and he yelled at her too for attempting to roll out the cart. She apologized to him, but with him behavior... she shouldn't have. I got his name, from the cashier, his name is Richard, which is fitting because he is the biggest dick I've ever met in a dollar store. Watch the way you talk to people. I will say that the 99 cent store seems to have more and better merchandise. With inflation, we could all save a few bucks here n there. I found what I was looking for however the shelves were messy and disorganized. Everything was so close together I could barely push my cart through let alone trying to have people walk past. The staff was all just sitting around discussing other members of their staff. One poor girl was attempting to answer questions for other customers, answer the phone, and check people out. Midway through checking the lady out in front of me she answer a phone call told the lady in front of her to hold on she would be back. She left the lady partially checked out for over 5min before returning to answer the question the phone caller had. She was clearly overwhelmed. It led to poor service and to her being extremely rude. The rest of the staff would comment to patrons here and there about the products they had and were also extremely rude. Overall the staff was so unprofessional. The shopping experience literally made me feel uncomfortable. I will never return to this location.
