For some reason we were convinced that this place would be the size of a Goodwill, but when we entered, it was about the size of a 7-11. I know it sounds weird, but there was a sadness in this place. The people working had no joy and they appeared disappointed when we didn't buy anything. The prices here were exactly what you would expect to pay. My only and only issue with this place was selection. Had it been larger, I'm sure we would have found some treasure. I scored a great deal on a 6ft long charging cable for my cell phone and got to watch a man run out of the store with unpaid merchandise and see two store employees try to run him down without success. Fast little bastard. I wonder if the store cameras work and record. I hope for Grocery Outlet's sake they do. Very friendly employees and some good deals to be had here. I y=usually am more apt to find something to my liking at a regular Nordstrom's but I wouldn't quite count myself as a regular shopper there either. By and large it's more of a preference thing really more than anything else. While I do love acquiring clothes...and from an observer's point of view that may look like I am not picky at all with what I get I actually am more picky than it would look. So that really has nothing to do with quality of product of service really. Just preference. Moving away from preference however is the parking to get to the cluster of stores where this store is at. It's often a tight squeeze and and very congested to navigate through here. Other driver's get mixed up at the Stop signs or simply don't care and one can risk a collision. That's why if I go to this sector of stores I park over in the main mall parking lot and get in and out from the main mall routes rather than navigating through all the pedestrians and cars. So if there is anything that causes actual frustration it's that.

From knives to pots and pans to kitchen gadgets you didn't think you would need until you see them. They even have makeup, hair products, clothes, and anything you can think of. It was so much fun roaming around this store, and they have a variety of the same item. For example, my goal was to get a butcher knife. They have big ones, small ones, heavy ones, ones with short handles, and ones with longer handles. I spent a long time picking one out to my liking. The inside feels like a big warehouse with everything neatly placed in a way that you can just walk up and down the aisles with ease. There was so much to look at that I felt like I spent close to an hour or more here. Some things were reasonably priced, while others were a little higher. It really depends on what you plan on getting from here. I almost got a wok from there but decided against it because the one on sale was a little bit too heavy for me. If you are in the area and love kitchen things, I would suggest going to Shin Shin to check it out. It was fun for me, and I plan to take my mom there on our next trip to Seattle. However, I might regret that decision later, because my mom would just spend her entire trip there and not want to leave. Haha, I will keep you posted on this. Parking is plentiful. Credit cards are accepted. One thing that caught my attention, though, was that the employees would stare you down after a little while. Instead of having security cameras, they have employees at every corner who would randomly show up next to you to ensure you are "shopping" and not stealing. It is a fairly large retail site that carried assorted housewares, some alcohol, restaurant gear, small appliances, bedding and linen, Korean hair & skincare products, and clothing. I was rather amused at the gigantic sizes of some bowls, woks, rice cookers, and cooking pots...literally could hold a toddler or two. As other Yelp posts have noted, they do have attentive store personnel that are at the ready should you have any questions. Unless you're a regular shopper, one will definitely be wandering and browsing every aisle since there are no overhead signage. After all that wandering, I did end up paying for a substantial back scratcher for The Homie and a floral print quilted vest for my mom. Both were reasonable and one was even on sale! Chalk it up to, you don't think you'll find anything in particular, but stop in Shin Shin for some momentary retail therapy.

I left empty-handed -- not because you didn't have what I needed, but solely because of her attitude. I took my business elsewhere, to someone who actually wanted to be there, and spent every dollar without hesitation. As a business owner myself, I would never allow someone with this disposition anywhere near a customer. One bad employee can undo everything you've built. Today, that's exactly what happened. I won't be returning.
