My friend was visiting me, so I thought I would take her here because it looked like a beautiful small business. When we entered the shop the two older white ladies gave us dirty looks and I could tell we weren't welcomed. As my friend and I were looking around and enjoying the merchandise, I could hear the two worker ladies gossiping about watching us because they didn't want us to steal. Another group of white folk came in and they paid no attention to them at all. Already, this made me upset as they thought I couldn't hear them gossip. I am not a confrontational person, so I just ignored it and proceeded to shop. Then one of the ladies asked me to put the item I was holding on the counter. My friend asked to look at the rings, then after she made her decisions, I proceeded to check out after her. The lady rung up my items (which I had gotten a variety of small kitchen items) and told me after I tapped my card, "Oh good, your card went through." It made me feel so degraded to be treated that way by someone. I wanted to return my items then and there, but I believe that would prove the point that she believed I wouldn't be able to afford the merchandise. It is extremely disappointing to experience this and I really hope that they do better here. If you want your small business to thrive, please treat everyone with respect. Also, respectfully, save enough money buy security cameras instead of micromanaging a people of color that comes inside your store.

Mobil Car Wash is a combination car wash and gas station. It's just one automatic bay, and a…read morevacuum outside. The value really can't be beat. $7 gets you the most expensive wash. This is basically the same wash as the $6 option, but it washes for twice as long, and dries for twice as long. This is all self serve. You pull up, put your money in the vending machine thing, and drive in. It doesn't accept credit cards, which is something I've grown accustomed to at automatic car washes. When you pull into the bay, you have to drive up onto a platform. It's a little wonky getting it just right. You drive forward, hit a ramp, the light turns red and buzzes (think buzzer in a hockey game), your car bounces back, the light turns green again, and you start the process all over again until you get in the 2mm wide sweet spot. After you're on the platform, you pretty much just sit back and chill for a while. The platform moves you back and forth. With suds on your windshield, it might look like you're about to be slammed into the wall. Good times. One huge plus is that the dryer moves alongside your car. I can't stand when I have to drive past the dryers, because I never realize what's going on until I've already sped past half of my car. This is more of a gas station than a car wash. It's one bay and some vacuums. I think there are two vacuums. It's not bad, and it's cheap. I'll definitely go back again.

That's only where it begins. They have the slowest checkout process on the planet. The stores are set up to be a convenience store, with customers only buying a handful of items at a time. However, they run great sales on grocery items. This should be a good thing, but they can't handle people coming up to the counter with a cart full of items. Even without that happening, one person ahead of you in line means you'll be standing there for a while. There is no reason why anybody should have to call for backup because three people are in line, but somehow they've made the process so slow that it's necessary. Like I said earlier, this is a convenience store that just so happens to have a pharmacy in the back. The problem is that the pharmacy isn't always open. I don't know if it's law, or what, but you can't buy cold medicine with ephedrine at the regualr checkout. Newsflash: New Englanders can afford cocaine, so nobody is using that box of Mucinex to cook meth. This ain't Montana.
