When you walk in, your eyeballs will be greeted by a dazzling display of gorgeous pastries, cupcakes, bars, cookies and pretty much any kind of bakery treat you can think of. Our pound of cookies included chocolate macaroons, chocolate leaves, rainbow petit fours, and a slew of other beauties. Everything we've had so far has been stellar, and you'll really need some will power to make your cookie stash last longer than a half hour. We didn't find one thing not to like about yesterday's experience at Pasticceria Italia.

The owner should not be in customer service. The employees are rude and disrespectful! The desserts have recently tasted like chemicals. Today was another example of how awful this place is. Bought a cake and came right home (less than 5 minutes away) to find they put it in a box that didn't fit the cake so the decorations were all stuck to the top of the box. Went right back to the store with the cake and the employee was so rude and said "that's what you get for getting a cake last minute". ummm 2:30 on a Saturday going to the bakery to get a cake or any other desserts when you're open go another 4 hours. Didn't know stopping into a bakery to buy things you already have made for sale is buying at the last minute when you are open for 4 more hours. They argued they should not fix it or give the money back. finally after arguing they did give the money back. We left the cake there and we will NEVER be going back and plan to tell everyone we know how poor their service is there time and time again. I could write about several issues had here. We will not be turning the other cheek anymore or giving them any more chances! Steer clear! We will make the drive to anywhere else for our desserts. Well done Pasticceria You've lost another customer. Add us to your already long list of customers who have vowed to never shop with you again!

A solid 10 minutes of winding roads over and under mountains that get your ears popping if you're coming from Westfield. It's kinda out in the middle of nowhere and while it's a very charming place, the locals who were in and around the store the day we went were very unfriendly. Is it really so difficult to return a smile? The shopkeeper didn't say a word to us even as we were checking out our items, no hello, no, did you find everything ok? Nothing. I had to ask about their famous cheeses, and only then did he finally speak. I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt and say he was shy because once he did get to talking, he seemed a nice enough young man. So about that cheese, yeah, that's some good cheese. Definitely worth all the hype it gets. This isn't your ho-hum block of cheese from Aldi or Walmart, and I can imagine how good a sandwich would be if you add some of that cheese into it. They have 4 kinds from what I could tell. Sharp, extra sharp, horseradish, and applewood smoked. They cut you up a piece, weigh it, and wrap it up in foil for you to enjoy. I'd love to say that I'll be back to try some of their prepared foods for lunch or something like that but honestly, I don't know if I'd make the trek out there again, especially if the people there are normally that unfriendly.

I have to think most people are familiar with these stores, so I won't go into describing everything inside. This is a nice & clean store with friendly staff. It all started back in the Winter of 2007 when I was layed off by my employer and I started six months of unemployment until I found a really great job. During those lean months, I started to frequent the Canton OSJL, the one closest to my home. It was a nice way to kill time and not spend a lot of money. How do you describe what they sell in OSJL? Short answer is they sell everything- clothes, food, hardware, housewares, health and beauty aids, toys for the kids- just about everything. These are not the smoke damaged seconds you'll find in Building 19- this is first quality new merchandise. They have a nice feature that saves you even more money -their Internet Coupons. Every week they feature about 20 coupons for deeper savings on all kinds of stuff- you have to go on their website and print them off. Every store has a dedicated section for the Internet Coupon specials. The Southwick location is one of OSJL's nicer locations, ranking in my book second only to Canton, and easily ahead of the adequate Bloomfield, slovenly Windsor, and horrendous Berlin stores. In Southwick, the shelves are well stocked, the store is neat, the signage is easy to read, the variety is stellar, the service is attentive and the prices are of course very good. I get a particular kick out of seeing OSJL staples such as Paul Sorvino pasta, Red Mill grains, and Peanut Butter & Company flavored peanut butter sold in fancy gourmet stores for 3 or 4X their OSJL price. If you like Salsa, try their Brad's salsa- its one of the best I have had for just about $2 or so. I also get their Polar Orange Dry Diet Soda 6-packs for an embarassingly low $1.65.

Also, it's right on College Highway in a convenient location. If you want a review of just CVS locations, then this is a five star business. However, CVS is flawed as a whole, so three stars is the highest I can give any location. Let me explain my last statement further. First of all, there are never enough people at the registers. That's only where it begins. They have the slowest checkout process on the planet. The stores are set up to be a convenience store, with customers only buying a handful of items at a time. However, they run great sales on grocery items. This should be a good thing, but they can't handle people coming up to the counter with a cart full of items. Even without that happening, one person ahead of you in line means you'll be standing there for a while. There is no reason why anybody should have to call for backup because three people are in line, but somehow they've made the process so slow that it's necessary. Like I said earlier, this is a convenience store that just so happens to have a pharmacy in the back. The problem is that the pharmacy isn't always open. I don't know if it's law, or what, but you can't buy cold medicine with ephedrine at the regualr checkout. Newsflash: New Englanders can afford cocaine, so nobody is using that box of Mucinex to cook meth. This ain't Montana. Still, if you're so congested you can't breathe on a Sunday at 7p.m., you're out of luck. So, if you're looking for a CVS, this is one of the best. If you're looking for a pharmacy or convenience store, go somewhere else.
