I have a love/ hate relationship with dollar stores in general. On one hand, it's practical, economic-wise. I've gone hog wild down every aisle, loaded up as much as I can carry home and still not break $30. That's damn good mileage for your buck. I have admitted before that I was a Dollar (Store) Baller. On the other hand, the reason I need to go to a dollar store is because times are tough. And ironically the reason is because we're not buying American. I have hassled people I know bought patriotic decorations here that have "made in china" printed on them from here. If you have an US flag that doesn't say "Made in the USA," seriously, you need to pack it in your recycle bin, circled in marker to deter divers. So, I'm more "emergency" spending the way things are the past few years. I recently understood the difference a small type of purchase can make in a year, over the years. Ever calculate a coffee or candy bar x5 x52 weeks? I've saved enough by not having cable to buy an SUV (if I wanted a gas guzzler). I decided to shop dollar stores first for "vital" things, then to be more careful about not buying expensive imported things from more expensive stores. Something happened to this neighborhood in the past few years. It's just a feeling I get walking around. Let's just say it's strange in the daytime, I'm long gone before night time. DT is good for expendables. Once in awhile you can find brand name obsolete/ trial run variations of products. I used to buy snacks, but I got sick and on further examination online, I found out most of that heavily preserved, never expires stuff is shipped halfway across the world. I really need to snack on local fruit and nuts anyways. My favorite holiday all year is Halloween, so if there was a category I bought most from, it would be cool, scary decorations. I also bought some poster board to make a collage. I read from a Life Coach to visualize goals and dreams by making something for your wall, so you can see images of what I want. It's easier to see, it becomes more real to see it in a room I frequent. I need to see more of what I can control and achieve in times like this. read more

Not only my favorite Soy milk is back! They have added a Frozen section with tv dinners, corn, peas, ham, franks, milk, eggs, ice cream...lots of goodies. Can't help myself, have to check in with them at least once a week to make sure I didn't miss any new items they stock. Will be nice if they can extend their store to next door which is currently vacant with more selections! read more

OMG!!! THEY UPGRADED! I usually come here to get Cards or Gift Wrap (and sometimes candy before heading out to the movies). I came in yesterday to get a few bday cards and wedding cards and I was like a kid in the candy store. They actually have aisles and aisles of cards. A totally new layout of the store... I noticed new tiles, a frozen section, a seasonal section, and many *new cheap and breakable lil merchandises which were well organized. Maybe they had it before, but I never noticed it until now since I can finally walk in between aisles and actually WALKED AROUND this store...they also had those cheap gas station sunglasses rack near the cash register! Then again, they may have had this for a long time now, it has been a while since I last picked up a Card from here (Christmas). It earned a yelp review. Good Job Dollar Tree. read more

One of the register workers was wearing a pair of nasty dirty gloves, proceeded to handle money, and then touch other customers items (including food items) without changing her gloves or sanitizing her hands. It's great she's protecting herself BUT what about everyone else? This is how the virus spreads. Also, no visible sanitizers for customers to use and they aren't sanitizing surfaces. This Dollar Tree location is great, because it's less than a mile from my house and it's next door to a Michaels. As a teacher, I often needed a little doohickey or thingamabob to complete a project or buy inexpensive treats for my students. Some of the items I've purchased include Christmas plates, plastic drinking cups, clothes pins, plastic containers, foam flower inserts, fall leaf garland, wrapping paper, and artificial flowers. I don't remember really shopping at any other Dollar Tree locations before, so I had nothing to compare "my" location to. I was recently on a mission to find some fall decorations to create centerpieces for a church function. The location on Snell only had a few of what I needed, so I drove from location to location looking for more goodies. It was only then I realized "my" Dollar Tree was one of the larger locations. Now that I've seen what condition the other Dollar Trees are like, I can say with confidence that "my" location deserves a strong 4 star review. The cleanliness varies, but overall this large location is a winner. Funny story-I was in line behind a woman who asked the cashier how much each item was each time a new item was rung up. Really. Very poor customer service and no one seemed to show a care For the missing bathroom key. IF someone forgets the key to the bathroom basically everyone locked out of the bathroom. I'm sure they have an employee bathroom but they don't seem to care if somebody has an emergency. I never saw so much apathy even when I rushed to Michaels next door and there bathroom was out of order. They didn't care to make an exception. LINES ALWAYS TAKE FOREVER TO GO THROUGH WITH ONLY 3 people in line. Workers take there sweet old time and even stop to talk to coworkers. They only have one person at the register and one at the balloons. But they dont open a 2nd because a line is long. Instead they TAKE EVEN A SWEETER TIME THE LONGER THE LINE. read more

This spot has been here for quite some time. I've been going here since high school. My most recent trip involved purchasing prizes for my students reward system. They had a lot more options than the DTs in my area in the east bay. The store was very clean and the products we not scattered all over the floor like at most other DTs. However, like all other DTs they were short of staff when it came to checkout. The staff is friendly for sure. They options of products to buy are hefty! I love the dollar tree! I've been coming to this store for a few years now, and yesterday I noticed that the store is remodeled! Everything is clean and organized. And they had multiple cashiers so I didn't even have to wait. The wait in the past were always horrendous. This place is perfect, especially when you have to buy school supplies for your students! It's also a good place to buy holiday decorations, balloons, and party supplies. Maybe I just noticed it this time, but I saw that they have Betty Crocker cooking supplies. read more

I wanted to give negative stars. Used to be my favorite store or chain to take my kids, but not any more. There was this one mean lady that only monitored us, didn't know until she checked only our receipt when we were walking out (today 4/13/19). i love dollar tree, when i moved in with my boyfriend into an apartment we had to get everything from drinking cups to a door Matt. This store had everything coffee cups, branded named body soap and toothpaste, also they have cheap brand name snacks and millions of picture frames and candles to choose from!! read more

Good thing I didn't write a review until now! I've been coming to this location for a few years now and yesterday I thought I was in the Twighlight Zone when I walked in. Brand new tile floor, brand new layout and the place looked bigger with LOTS more merchandise! I mostly come for cards, wrapping paper, or to grab candy on the way to the movies. Now there is so much more to choose from and everything is displayed professionally! There were even more cashiers ringing up than I'd ever seen. And whoa - there is a bench next to the register for people who need to wait, take a break, or just get dizzy from looking at all the neat cheap stuff! My biggest stink before was there was only one cashier and 20 people in line. I literally used to throw the money on the counter & walk out while cussing under my breath. Finally there are plenty of cashiers so I shall come plenty more times! read more

This one is always packed & always has 1 cashier at their busiest! Watch out for all the homeless folks running around the outside of the store. Or being yelled out from the guy asking for donations or the tamale/fruit person husling from the parking lot! read more

I do like this place but it is a regular size store. (The one on McKee os huge and they have a bigger grocery section). The people are nice, except for the ghetto people who don't know how to say "excuse me". But I'm glad the workers are nice so I can keep coming back. I like to get my Xmas decor and junk food snacks here. They have Arizona tea here for big and a dollar!!! And my fav, doritos, a big bag for a buck! I love this place! But it's bot like the huge one, which is closer to me but I hardly go there, this one is smaller, bit compared to most, it is a normal size. Parking can be crazy cuz there is a Michael's right next door. And they have a guy to check your receipt at the door so I do feel a bit safer now :) read more

I happened to end up at this Dollar Tree because I was in the area and needed to pick up some things. It has a lot of parking out front and it right next to a Michael's. It is a bit small but it does has a ot of variety at this store and my kids happen to like this Dollar Tree's toy section lol better than any of the other one's I've been to lol! This has nothing to do with the store itself as a whole. I've been here many times and like it for its convenience. This is purposefully directed at one female individual who just made the whole quick stop pickup at the dollar store very sour. First off, I try to avoid coming to the store during busy times because lately people outside are always asking for charity handouts to some organization and I'm burdened with a guilty conscious. It also doesn't help there aren't many employees staffed for the amount of traffic and lines that seem to wrap awkwardly down the aisles. But the staff itself usually seems pleasant enough as far as retail courtesy goes. But I digress. Here's today's experience. When I approach the counter there is only one young man in line and he is being clerked by A*****. I slowly walk up as she seems to be the only one working and briefly look for any eye contact that may indicate she is still open. After no hints, I begin to lay down my items on the belt. Then I see her glance at my items sitting there and then at me (still not even making actual eye contact) and then back down to her task at hand with her current customer saying, "I'm closed." I don't know whether she was having an off day or whether she truly hates this job but she came off so insulting and cold I was in shock for a half minute.. As she didnt give me any other alternatives as to how I would be able to check my items out and just left me standing there without another word. There wasn't another lane open until a much younger male part-timer approached me after a few seconds of awkwardness and told me that they had another lane opening up. It doesn't sound like much but I work in retail in a much more stressful environment and I would get written up for communicating in such a manner as she did to a customer. I don't have high expectations for this place but jeez, some human civility isn't too much to ask. read more

This Dollar Store is located near Michaels craft store off Snell Ave. Parking is lot is a good size and store is fairly large. I only come here for garbage bags which are well $1 for a box of 12. They also sell other household items, and other knick knacks for a $1. The checkout lines do get long, hence the 3 star review. read more

You can't order anything with the manager at this location. Also, the selection is not nearly as adequate as the Morgan Hill store. Unfortunately, it is too far away. I am going by only the one thing that I like to have on hand regularly. It is sad that I have to drive all the way to Morgan Hill because the manager here will not accommodate my request for a certain case of frames weekly. But I do like the other items available there. read more

This is a great place to shop for inexpensive items, especially groceries. You can get some pretty good deals here. The store is clean and the items are easy to find with a pretty good selection. There is even a greeter when you enter the store! It's also a good place to get party supplies. read more

OMG the overwhelming stench of urine inside the store was disgusting. Easter blowout items all broken and scattered; but that's mostly the purchasing public having no respect. Will opt for a different location when next in need of last minute holiday items or candies for the movie. Just gross! read more

I love the stuff I find here just not a fan of the customer service. I feel like less and less stores are not training the employees they have properly. The cashier will literally just shout "open line " when lines are long and just allow the people at the end of the line to just cut over instead of actually going up to the person who has been in line the longest and actually taking them first!!! read more

I've enjoyed this store in the past and have spent plenty of money here. 2 days ago I bought about $30 worth of Valentine's decorations for a party I'm having. I did not know what the return policy was so I asked. I told the gal at the register I was having a party and was not sure how many supplies I was going to need and asked if I could return for a refund any items I did not need, if I had bought too much. She assured me that it would not be a problem so I went ahead and bought a few extra just in case ... you know, better safe than sorry. Today ( 2 days later) I went to return 4 items. I told the gal at the register I wanted to return a few things, but I wanted to grab a couple of votives. So far so good... I could not find them so I went back stood in line again and asked if she knew what isle they were on. Was told she did not know and I'd just have to go down every isle... ( Wow, really?) I finally found them but they only had one left. I came back got in line for the third time and was told they do not do refunds. ( In a snotty tone of voice) I would have to buy something else. Not happy that I had been lied to, but still willing to play nice, I exchanged the one item and I asked if any of the other stores carried the votives and if I could do an exchange at one of the other stores. Clerk asks another girl if her store has them. She says yes and I can also check her store on Almaden. She assured me exchanging them there would not be a problem. I hopped in the car and took off for the other store. ( which was totally out of the way for me. When I got there, the gentleman at the register tells me we don't accept exchanges on holiday items. I told him I was just told at the other store that it would not be a problem. He copped an attitude and said, our policy is on the back of the receipt". Now I'm pissed... I've wasted over an hour of my day over $4.00. Now it's a matter of principal. I told him what I had been told at the other store and that If this was indeed their policy, then I was lied to twice and I just wasted my time and gas because of them and was very unhappy. He finally agreed to a one time exchange. Grrrrrrrrrr... Luckily they had the votives but I left in a foul mood. What they are not realizing is that $3.00 that cost them nothing has lost them future sales, as I will not go back to either location in the future. The folks at this store seem to have a policy of keeping people from using the rest rooms. When I asked for the key so two young boys and one older gentleman could use the bathroom, I was treated rudely and told that only the manager had a key. The clerk was clearly angered by my persistence and used the phone ask if someone would unlock the door. No response, I asked that she make the announcement again and that she express that two little boys really needed to get in fast. She became really angry. Finally, the door was opened and they went. Turns out the person with the key was stationed by the front door and she was not allowed to leave her post. I also learned that the manager (Actually the assistant manager, the manager was off.) was standing right behind the clerk the whole time. read more

I was overcharged yesterday at the Dollar Tree, so I was calling to inquire about the refund- whoever the girl is that answered at 11:27 am is rude and has an attitude and hung up on me. It wasn't my fault that I was overcharged, so why the attitude? If you don't want to work in retail and deal with customers, get yourself another job.
