This location is not good!!! Long lines. Rude staff. Management does not take care of store or customers needing help around the store. I will be calling management about customer service involving certain staff I have the names of. Two different ladies were not nice to me on 2 different shopping trips. I don't think I will ever go back to this location again. read more

The service is slow line long and didn't have anything I wanted dirty good value on some things I rather go to five below lots more selection on things read more

Will not come back ever again. Workers are super rude. I put all my stuff on the register only to be told " this lane is closed ". But the employee was there talking to someone. If it's closed then don't be talking to someone at the register. Common sense!!! What pissed me off was the fact that she could've said that in the beginning instead of waiting for me to finish putting all my stuff down. After I had went in the back of a long line , that register was open . Wattt THEEEEE FFUU.....* eye roll* . I'd rather pay full price then come back and have the worst service ever. Avoid at all means possible. They seriously have no manners/ customer service skills at this place. I guess $1 = 1 star service. read more

Rude, not helping me when I need some balloons, very early morning, there's no many costumer , and one cashier, few workers around, this 72 old women need few balloons for grand daughter birthday party, don't know what's the reason nobody want to help me! After I manage to get few balloons already blowed on there, when I check out asked I need weights to prevent balloon fly away, "no we don't have it", then add "it's back there and need to pay for it ", cuz I'm in a hurry so I decide to pay the balloons and leave, never going to go back again. read more

I went to the dollar tree and I frequent most of them and I have to say that this one was one of the cleanest and well-stocked and customer service oriented dollars trees I have ever been here I was seriously impressed Management is Susie she's on point donated some empty boxes to the community haunted house that the boo crew puts on in San Jose every year for free for everyone to enjoy. It's good to see that there are some people that still value their customers and have such a great collection and such an actually very clean store. Good job this is now my home dollar store. read more

DO NOT GO TO THIS $ TREE! I never do reviews but man was this lady rude! There was about 7 people in line and I nicely asked if they wouldn't mind opening another register, which I usually don't mind waiting! But, this lady was thinking the carts were more important then helping her coworker check people out! Again after I NICELY asked she yelled back at me saying hold on I have other things to do first yada yada yada ! wow ! I was shook and responded by saying okay no problem, no rush! She opened the register after about 3min, and of course she attended me lol but she proceeded talking about me even after walking away and wishing her a good day! 9:30 ish Monday November 6! She's gotta go! Very rude lady! Bad service!!! Never again! read more

I typically visit this Dollar Tree for candy, and just random items like anti-bacterial spray, and shipping supplies. I've been here a few times, and the store is pretty well kept. On my last visit I picked up a bag of Bitto Honey and a handful of envelopes lined with bubble wrap. It's fairly easy to find things, so I'm able to pop in and out of here with a quickness! If you don't mind it's shady location/parking lot, it is pretty difficult to beat paying a dollar for pretty much everything you throw in your basket. If you are a candy fanatic like me, you might as well save yourself a few bucks and stock up on your faves! Overall, I've had good luck with this particular location, so I will definitely come back for more candy! Oh yeah, swing by before you head to the movies. $10 can get you A LOT of junk!! read more

I went to dollar tree to buy some stuff for fairy garden. It is a bit cluttered, but I really liked the accessories I bought. Will come back again. Oh! And I got some seeds from here - marigold, daisies, sunflower and zinnia 4 for $1. I didn't expect that they would work, but thought why not give a try! Already seeing baby marigold and daisy plants. Will update about others here too. read more

Dollar Tree - Pinwheel from dollar store - Discount Store Near Me - San Jose, California

I would give this place zero stars if I could. Long lines all day and all night long while the manager just sits in the office. There is never not a line and they don't even acknowledge that it is their own fault. They seriously need to staff more people or have the manager come out of her office. Instead, the cashiers here just shift blame on the customers for the long lines. They verbally blame customers and scold them like children for "causing" the long lines. It is so messed up and unprofessional. Most cashiers here are rude. Eye rolls, exasperations, condescending tone...you name it, they have probably done it. They will not hesitate to snap at you to take out their own personal frustration. Just recently, I had a cashier yell at me in front of a line of customers while I was translating for someone. It is sad that even minimal customer service and basic human decency are too high of a bar to meet here. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For any customer who has experienced an issue with this store, please file a complaint: WEBSITE: https://www.dollartree.com/store-questions-answers (1) Click on "I NEED MORE HELP." FIRE MANAGER MARIA!!!! I just had the most terrible experience at this dollar tree with the manager, MARIA. This woman is extremely disrespectful, rude, arrogant, and condescending to customers. I kindly asked her for help with blowing up balloons that I paid for in this store. She stated, "no these are fresh and we ran out of balloons." MARIA is a LIAR!! They had a bunch of new balloons in the drawers. She just did not want to help me. Instead, she lied and tried to sell me FLAT balloons. MARIA SHOULD NOT BE A MANAGER. After speaking with MARIA, I then spoke to Leonra, who was so much nicer and took the time to blow me up fresh balloons that were not flat. Leonra had great customer experience. LEONRA should be the manager instead... When I went back to MARIA, I asked why she could not blow the balloons up, but that Leonra was able to and she SHRUGGED her shoulders and turned away from me. She didn't acknowledge anything I said. I am DISGUSTED with MARIA'S customer experience. She is appalling!!! PLEASE GET THIS WOMAN REMOVED AS A MANAGER. read more

For some reason, most Dollar Tree will have homeless in front of their store. This store have great sections. The check out line can be long going down the aisles. read more

This dollar tree is organized and so clean! And they have really good selection for art!

When it comes to assisting customers, this location is very slow, I rarely see more than one cashier helping shoppers at a time and am not surprised whenever the lines start wrapping around the aisles. They are somewhat organized here, they do keep the shelves decently stocked, but it can be hard at times to maneuver around products and inventory boxes left behind or forgotten by employees. I would rated them less, but the fact that they always have plenty of seasonal goods; saved them from being a one star establishment. read more

During the COVID-19 Pandemic... Soooo... long story short. I went here over the weekend I believe it was a Sunday to get back pain patches which do actually work may I add just in case anyone ever wonder if it works or not since it's dollar tree. Anyway last minute I wanted to look at a Pom Pom key chain that was displayed towards the back near the balloons one of the employees there I believe she was the supervisor she didn't wear the green uniforms like the other workers she was 5'3 Spanish looking with asian eyes. She seen us wearing our masks and rudely said " why are they wearing masks it's not going to save their life!" funny how she said that with everyone in the store including her employee who was working the cash register whom by the way was also wearing a mask. She seriously has no respect or professionalism in the work place. Keep that shit to yourself nobody wants to hear your criticism! She's going to be wearing a mask once I get a hold of dollar tree cooperate. It's common sense to wear a mask in case someone spits on you while they're talking..it's not suppose to save a life but it does more than harm thank you. Get like Costco! They're in code and care more for their customers. read more

Dollar Tree - An example dollar tree should be making - Discount Store Near Me - San Jose, California

The store itself is generally pretty good. They always have what we need. We go In here to buy seasonal items and even stuff for my son when he plays baseball. However the other day my 3 year old daughter (who is learning to potty train) went in to this store for her to get a toy when she said she had to go potty. For those of you who don't know, when a child is learning to use the toilet and say they have to go, it means NOW. They don't really know how to hold it. So we ran to the bathroom to find it was locked. Ran to the front counter to get the key and went back. When I opened the door I was disgusted I wouldn't even let my daughter use this restroom. It was dirty. There was what looked liked a puddle of pee in the corner by the toilet, yellow dried pee behind the toilet on the floor, pee on the toilet seat, not a single seat cover, nowhere to hang toilet paper so it was sitting on the dirty gross floor. We left and ran to michaels next door as quick as we could, but the poor thing had an accident in her pants before we got there. We ended not going back into the dollar store for the things we were going to Get and went home to Change her instead :( read more

Dollar stores can be fun, useful, and cool. But there are only a few of them that follow through and stand out. Among so many branches in the region, this store takes the cake. Unlike others, they always have clear and clean aisle ways. Their candy aisle is immaculate. And surprisingly, their toy section is just the same......always well kept and organized. I can always count on this store to be fully stocked, especially with their seasonal items/decorations. Staff here is friendlier. They even have a greeter/receipt checker at the door....kinda reminds me of Costco security. Lines tend to be quicker, at least while I'm there. This store also closes later than the others.....10 pm daily except Sunday. I usually don't review chain stores, but I felt this one deserves it. They have a nice system, and it shows. Other dollar stores should follow suit. read more

I'm writing on their balloon service only. I came here about a month ago and they had the graduation balloons just starting to arrive. I don't need it them filled up with helium until June so I inquired about buying them in advance, all the ones I want before it runs out, and coming back to this one with my receipt to have them filled. It was not a problem at all. So I bought 40 balloons, yes, 40 and all the ones I want they have. Here we are the night before I need the balloons filled with helium. I came there around 8:45pm and got in line like everyone else and asked the cashier to have the balloons filled. I had to wait for another person to do it but it was only a few minutes of waiting and then I see my balloons being filled up. So many, so perfect. While I was walking out with all the balloons, I was stopped a few times as to where I got the graduation balloons, I had to tell them they no longer got them... cuz they are all out. Glad I bought them a month ago. Planners are winners! read more

UGH. this dollar tree continues to disappoint me LOL. But its okay, the Michael's next door always makes up for it. This is my 'go to' dollar tree bc its the closest to my house, but the selection on stuff they have is always inconvenient. The only time i was really happy coming outta there was when my sister and i went and bought christmas socks for everybody. and little treats like candy canes and fuzzy socks and such. The Line is always ridiculously LONG. like, ALL of the times i've gone which is probably once a week or twice. I remember my first ever check out experience was with this super mean asian lady. she didn't greet me nor smile and ya'll already know, i ain't bout that UGLY customer service. read more

Tara is absolutely amazing!! Tara truly saved the day last night as I called all over to buy graduation frames for a class of graduating students I was told by countless stores in the area they put them out and sold out the same day. When I called the store Tara answered I informed her I am a teacher and needed at least 25 frames Tara said they only had 8 out of a design I hadn't been looking for but would gladly check the back before the new stuff was put out that night. By 9 pm I received the call back saying they had 24 she couldn't put them on hold but if I came in before 10 pm I could buy them all. When arrived I went up to the register to let her know I was there and would look at other grad stuff quickly. Before I could say anything else she let me know she found 2 more frames in the design I wanted on the shelf! I was so happy and couldn't thank her enough for saving the day and graduation season! On a side note** They had so many graduation items that the first three dollartress did not have when I had gone to them. Thank you Thak you Thank you!!! read more

Been here more than a few times but never reviewed it. I went here today looking for a bike pad lock. What was I thinking? Haha, it was worth a try. Friend and I were biking and we got hungry, but I didn't have a lock for my bikes. We were like, "Hey let's check Dollar Tree." I knew they didn't have it... I went in and asked the worker organizing his section. He kindly stopped what he was doing and showed me the locks he did have. It was more so the locker ones with the combination and also the one with the key. Eh, not what I was looking for... Gentleman was super nice for helping me. Another time I came to get decorations for NYE, and they ran out of everything. Serves me right to try to do things so last minute. Ended up buying streamers and balloons. Girl helped me separate all the balloons for me to purchase. I would say their service both times were good. Downside is when it's busy, they only have two lanes open. We came here to get furniture polish. My mom tells me but that's NOT Pledge. Mom its the same thing. Its just a different brand. This is the cheaper brand. I haven't been to this Dollar Tree for as long as I could remember. My last visit, I just needed to get some last-minute balloons for my valentine. When I got there, there was a lady at the "Balloon Center" filling up Valentine-themed Mylar balloons. I asked her if I could take a few and she let me and also kindly asked me if I could get all of the balloons and move them towards the outer area of the desk. I didn't have a problem with it, I just thought it was kind of weird that she asked me to do that. It took me about 5 minutes to choose which balloons to take and I ended up taking 3 and also a weight to come with it. I spent $4.35 including sales tax, which totally beats going to Party City! Checkout didn't go so fast, but that isn't a surprise... I mean, it's the Dollar Store. Despite the crowdedness, there were a handful of checkers which was a plus! Two things I want to comment on was the cleanliness of this location. It was fairly organized and you can really find what you're looking for here. Another thing, they need to control the pervy solicitors in front of the store. It's just awkward! read more

Hi! My name is Jessica M. and I am a Dollar Tree Consumer! I'll go ahead and give "C N." a double high five for nailing so many valid points on the nose about the Dollar Tree- Snell. C N. covered all the basics to have a satisfying shopping experience while keeping you aware of the cons (definitely short staffed)! With that said, I recommend his review for content and mine for scenarios. Scenario #1- College Student You have just gone away for college and find many basic household necessities missing. You can't afford Target and Ikea doesn't have enough locations in the vicinity. A couple things to look out for: cups, plates, kitchen utensils, and decor to name a few. Just beware of the warnings that may state that an item is toxic (a.k.a. decorative mug or plate)! =) Can't leave that one out... Scenario #2- Dinner Party I recently fell into this category last Friday! =) Yeah my lil' secret is out... Jon O. & Lisa P. I hit up the Dolla Sto and got some fancy schmancy place mats, Mojito cups, and a couple smelly candles for a centerpiece. This was a quick and easy way to add a little personality to an intimate dinner party. Scenario #3- Birthday Party This applies to kiddies and adults alike. There are so many items that are PERFECT for a one-dayer. You buy, use, and toss! There are signs, table pieces, party bags (and party bag fillers ofcourse), paper plates, plastic utensils, plastic or paper table covers, etc.... Such a guiltless place to shop for such an event! Scenario #4- Holidays Before going anywhere else for the Holiday Decor purchases please check out the Dollar Store first. Easter, Christmas, Valentine's Day, Thanksgiving... you name it they sell the appropriate festivity goods. Scenario #5- Just Cause Sometimes I find myself in Dollar Store just to replenish my supply of some household "stuff"! I mainly find myself getting things to make the house smell good. I occasionally find myself in there getting a quick toy to give to my niece when I see her. Whateva floats my boat at that particular time is the best way to explain it. read more

Really like going to this Dollar Tree. I use to always shop here before the one near Eastridge opened up. Pros: Good selection and variety of merchandise Very neat and organized They actually have a greeter Cons: They don't have a huge selection of floral. Small space Long lines I would say definitely stop buy if your in the area ^^ read more

The greeter didn't greet. Probably too busy chewing gum. Interesting enough she greeted the family behind me. No assistance at the balloon center. When I went to ask one of the employees for help, she turned her back. Why? Because her cell phone rang. Top it off, her ringtone was the Titanic theme. Shoot me. Dollar items, dollar service. If you're okay with that, cool. Otherwise the dollar Tree on Almaden Expy and the new one by Curtner are way nicer and the staff is friendlier (is that a word?) read more

So I need to go for my usual gift bag stock up - makes sense to me to stock up rather than return every single time for 1 bag. I was shocked when I walked though the door on a Friday afternoon. It was remodeled & actually organized. The reason I would avoid this location previously was due the fact that it looked like a hurricane had always passed through here! A second reason I would avoid this place was because it could get ghetto at times. I guess if you get here before 1pm the ghetto people are replaced by the elderly; I'll choose elderly over ghettoness any day. P.S. Sorry to the people who were behind & will ever be behind me in line. If you see a girl with a stack of gift bags run to another check out lane 'cuz trust me, it will take awhile for them to ring up 30+ bags. read more

I have a love/ hate relationship with dollar stores in general. On one hand, it's practical, economic-wise. I've gone hog wild down every aisle, loaded up as much as I can carry home and still not break $30. That's damn good mileage for your buck. I have admitted before that I was a Dollar (Store) Baller. On the other hand, the reason I need to go to a dollar store is because times are tough. And ironically the reason is because we're not buying American. I have hassled people I know bought patriotic decorations here that have "made in china" printed on them from here. If you have an US flag that doesn't say "Made in the USA," seriously, you need to pack it in your recycle bin, circled in marker to deter divers. So, I'm more "emergency" spending the way things are the past few years. I recently understood the difference a small type of purchase can make in a year, over the years. Ever calculate a coffee or candy bar x5 x52 weeks? I've saved enough by not having cable to buy an SUV (if I wanted a gas guzzler). I decided to shop dollar stores first for "vital" things, then to be more careful about not buying expensive imported things from more expensive stores. Something happened to this neighborhood in the past few years. It's just a feeling I get walking around. Let's just say it's strange in the daytime, I'm long gone before night time. DT is good for expendables. Once in awhile you can find brand name obsolete/ trial run variations of products. I used to buy snacks, but I got sick and on further examination online, I found out most of that heavily preserved, never expires stuff is shipped halfway across the world. I really need to snack on local fruit and nuts anyways. My favorite holiday all year is Halloween, so if there was a category I bought most from, it would be cool, scary decorations. I also bought some poster board to make a collage. I read from a Life Coach to visualize goals and dreams by making something for your wall, so you can see images of what I want. It's easier to see, it becomes more real to see it in a room I frequent. I need to see more of what I can control and achieve in times like this. read more
