The concept is that you grab a bag and sift through cardboard boxes of stuff and fill up your bag. Depending on the day you come, the prices change. Monday's price is $3; on Tuesdays it's $2 for each item in the box, etc... down to a 25 cents "blowout" on Thursday morning... until they restock and start the week again. I don't know if the people who came over the weekend and paid $6 an item got all the bargains, but we didn't see even one thing that we considered buying. It was just big cardboard boxes lined up and very awkward to reach into that had piles of the same junk in it -- items you'd find left over from a sale in a flea market. Around the perimeter were drug store and grocery items marked at supposedly 50 percent off the retail price. Again nothing that was of any interest to us. And that's saying a lot when I can't find at least one thing to spend my money on. I'm glad I came -- so I won't feel like I've missed out on anything. Now I know.

Store feels cluttered and slightly dark. We walked in to find only one other visitor on Saturday afternoon. We heard staff making up prices in back area for incoming items. It felt like rock, paper, scissors. Hmmm .... They proudly offer they are a Target Store liquidator now. Interesting as at least 1/2 the store did not look like regular Target merchandise. The pricing now is full retail and then a discount of 35% off. Todays special was slightly higher. They also warned that credit card would add a 3% charge. (Being in financials, they should check processor contract as Visa/MC do not commonly allow this) It was not what we wanted and left. Not knocking their decision to go this route, but doubt we would return. The original business design seemed to offer more possibilities and just needed some better execution. We do wish them luck ....

The 99 Cent Farmer's Market in Pompano blew me away with its gorgeous fruit selection, super fresh herbs, and all kinds of miscellaneous goodies -- all at unbelievably low prices. Everything was vibrant, fresh, and far higher quality than you'd ever expect for 99 cents. They even have great snack boxes that are perfect for on-the-go. And as a sweet surprise, we were given a free pumpkin on our way out! The staff made the experience even better. Everyone was warm and friendly, and I have to give a special shout-out to Angelina, our wonderfully helpful cashier, and Anissa -- The Juice Spot Queen -- who absolutely lives up to the title. They always encouraged me to come back, and I did. Quality is OK day-of. Most of it needs to be eaten quickly. For instance their watermelon or mangoes wont be good after a week. That's fine but $5.99/small melon or $1/mango are almost as bad as publix. Not quite but almost. Where's the deals? If its expensive, Where's the high quality? I respect their game and wish them luck but sadly its a closed chapter for me. Its not that im not going to return out of spite, but I wont be returning simply because there's no point to. The amount of necklaces is overwhelming....I can't tell you how many there could be, but I would bet it would be in the thousands....They are displayed on top of each other or next to each other. The store is crammed from floor to ceiling with costume jewelry but is arranged by type and color. Best of all it is very inexpensive. Most of it is fake but I did see a few sterling pieces. Based on the tags I saw like the ones from Macy's, it seems to be overstocks. This is the kind of place you want to enjoy exploring with you girlfriend or daughter. If you have that certain outfit that needs the finishing touch, you can find the perfect statement piece inexpensively. Have a ball digging through designer sunglasses, rings, earring, bracelets, and necklaces. If you need any recommendations, give me a ring!

Then we pushed the cart to a designated counter at the back of the store. A very friendly employee opened each box for us to reveal its contents. Some of the items in the boxes were hair, extensions, chargers, and some items which I could not identify. Trust me, it's HUGE! So big in fact that unless you skip over a few things or shop eclectically, it would be difficult to cover in a single day. It's an all outdoor affair with no inside convention hall or auditorium to it. The good part about that is that as such it is far more festive with barbecues smoking away along with plenty of entertainment for the kids and though no dogs are allowed, they have dog boarding facilities available. Best of all, if you are looking for anything nautical, new or used, chances are good that you'll find it here and when you do find what you are looking for, it will only be about a third of the price you might find the same or similar item elsewhere. Then, of course if you shop with cash, most vendors will always give you a "for cash" discount forgetting anything having to do with sales tax. But, not to worry, since I am sure that if you insist upon paying sales tax on top of your purchase price, I'm sure they'll gladly accept.

A novel discount store. Stuff is everywhere, tiny bit short of flea market. Like there's not really…read morea system where stuff is located, but if you go there enough you know where the stuff that you want is placed, unless they moved it.....lol. But they seem they are organizing things better as time goes along. They have some of EVERYTHING from food stuffs to furniture, toys, clothes, shoes, towels, sheets, bug zappers, light bulbs, paper ware, fancy water bottles, car seat covers, blankets, aspirin, deodorant, dishes, electronics, watches, big TVs, paper shredders, wine coolers, generators, safes- those big cast iron ones that survive infernos-----I still left a ton of stuff off this list haha......be aware that scratch and ding and retaped boxes of repackaged stuff rule here. I go mainly because I'm intrigued every time I go. Its unsuspectingly located in a huge warehouse, a short business row. From the front, it is quite nondescript, next to a dental office. Once inside, it can be overwhelming. You can wander around inside for hours discovering items tucked away in nooks and crannies, inspecting goods for missing parts and defects, looking for that "steal deal". Most of the items look like Costco returns and overstock items. Lots of Kirkland around. I got this really cool 2 person Tommy Bahama beach tent that compacts down into a tiny shoulder bag for $15--it scanned $60 on amazon price check, but I had to search through a bunch of them to piece part a complete one to take for myself. Also, some stuff, being a loyal Costco member myself, seemed really over priced for the not-great condition it may have been in. Check expiration dates! Customer service is usually pretty good, too. They get it that its controlled chaos, and they do their best to help you sort through it. In the winter, be prepared to be bulldozed in th aisles like you don't exist by some lovely visitors who, I've witnessed, argue for hours with the cashiers about the clearly posted "no money back, all sales final" policies----waiting in line, you see it on everyone else's faces "it was a dollar, really? Unlike maybe, YOU, I've got to get back to work!" Workers have been awesome for me, though, with exchanges if you talk to them with decent respect and reasonableness. Gee. Fun.

Times…read morewhen in the past, we wouldn't even consider coming here to now -- an open-air profile that has been updated and refreshed where you can go to the stores and restaurants right into their main doors. We are here a lot for the Lowe's store as well as occasionally the Macy's. And also for Big Lots on the north side. The restaurants have come and gone, but there are a few we like and patronize -- the fish and shrimp one and the middle eastern one to cite a couple. And the Burlington and TJ Maxx stores that were recently added are also a draw. It is our town mall, so we are happy it's now on the up side. They even have a number of outbuildings with businesses and restaurants and signs saying more are coming soon. Here's to supporting local businesses!

I went to six appointments at the JC Penney Salon in Citi Centre. Slowly, but surely, she destroyed my long, very thick beautiful locks. I now have chemical burns throughout my scalp. My hair may never grow back in these areas. On the last appointment, all of that hair was probably in the shampoo bowl. She ran from the shampoo bowl and told me to go to her styling chair. She wouldn't let me look in the shampoo bowl. To this day, I regret the decision that I made not to stand up for myself and check things out! She mixed hair color and shampoo together - without rinsing the color out. She did this on a number of occasions. I kept wondering why my hair was suddenly thinning and drying out. I went to my doctor who gave me some injections to promote hair growth. A few weeks after my last appointment with her, I touched the top of my head. To my horror, I found out that I am now mostly bald on the top of my head! There are 'ribbons' of damage all throughout my hair. I am distraught! I called her and let her know and she rudely suggested that I go to another hair stylist. I sent pictures to her and her manager. The manager said she would products to me for my hair. I never received them. When I called her, she said that her supervisor told her not to send the products. She said I can come in for a treatment. I can't believe how unprofessional this salon is. I asked for dark brown hair and chunky highlights. She kept lightening my hair. I told her I didn't want red hair. Although I did like the highlights for a short time, it is not what I wanted. I don't know why I trusted her. She kept telling me that we were going for "perfection". I want to know if there are others that have had this bad experience with this hairdresser. I met one of her clients and she has very little hair and all of it is in tiny pin curls on top of her head. I bet she did this same processing to this client as well. She is lazy. I told her to put the color on both sides when applying it. She did this, but then added the shampoo to the color and sometimes to the color and the bleach at the shampoo bowl. Slowly, but surely, she was damaging my hair. It may not ever grow back! She said that my hair was hers while at the salon and then she will give me 'my hair back.'. Well, I may have less than half of my hair left after going to her for six times. I thought after spending all of that money and all of that time, I would look amazing! The little hair I have left is very thin and fragile with split ends everywhere! I can't swim in the ocean or a pool as water in general is very drying, especially salt and chlorinated water. It's summertime! I cannot believe this! I told her I wanted long hair. Also, on the last appointment, she cut my hair. It was just cut a couple of weeks ago by her! She cut it because she saw all of the damage that she did. She saw all of my hair in the shampoo bowl. I can prove it! Just look at my scalp in the pictures and all the red/pink splotches everywhere! The color of my hair is awful! It's different colors everywhere. When I looked it up online, I found out that 'soap capping' the hair is very dangerous. Adding soap to color and/or bleach is very drying and damaging. She did this 3, maybe 4 times to me! I should have known better. I will never get chemical processing on my hair again, NEVER! I cannot anyway! I can't use a brush, a blow dryer, hot rollers, nothing. I cannot use anything on my hair now because of the condition it is in. I wrote a long letter to JC Penney and added pictures of what my hair looks like after Sabrina destroyed my hair and hair follilles throughout my head. She asked me why I took so long to let her know. I told her that most of the damage is on the top and back of my head and only after the color kept fading and the tiny hairs were growing out, that's when I noticed. I was also traveling to other states visiting people who are not well in my family. So I was focused on driving from Virginia to and through multiple states and taking care of other things. I wasn't focused on my hair. It looks awful and I have to do what I can to save it. I hope that I can.
