I slash my food bill by half with this store alone. Some of the products we enjoy more than their more popular counterparts. Most everything we bought at the other grocery stores, we can find here. For less. If your not familiar with Aldi, bring a quarter with you to lease a shopping cart. It sounds silly, but, we as a society are so cheap that we'll return the cart just to get the quarterback. This location NEVER has idle shopping carts roaming around the parking lot, ramming into your car. Pretty smart. The ambiance is just as great as the more popular chains. You need to bring your own bags/boxes or purchase them for a small pittance. If you're like me, plan an extra fifteen minutes in the store. Prices are typical. Products are many. The store really should have a Yelp account so others can weigh in and more folks can check this place out. Now they do. Buddied-up with D&W Fresh Market, you have options to not only walk through the store, but order online for curbside or home delivery. I usually stop in for drinks and snacks. We had rescued two cats back in February, and bought our first bag of cat food at this store. Since it is considered best not to change a pet's food, we continued buying it her. When I went in a week to buy another bag, I was told that they had not had time to unload a truck and distribute items throughout the store. When I mentioned my concerns about changing the cat food, Lisa took me into the back of the store to look through pallets stacked high. After several minutes of searching, Lisa found one of the bags I needed - at the bottom of a stack. She then moved numerous bags to get the one I needed. Lisa went well beyond what I might have expected, and I want to give her a very big thanks for her help. We will continue to buy our cat food - as well as many other items - from this Dollar General, largely due to the quality of the staff. Thank you!

During the snow storm I placed a pick up order at the Walmart in Petoskey. I just moved here the…read moreday before and had no groceries. I did not realize how bad it was outside and had already placed a pick up order otherwise I would have just gone in myself. I believe the pickup attendant that assisted that day was named Al. He did an awesome job handing all the pick up orders by himself (there were many cars in the pick up area). Al literally climbed through mounds of snow dragging the cart through and withstanding the crazy winds. Not once did he complain. He was very polite and kind given the circumstances and being short staffed. Al deserves a raise, additional PTO, and recognition. I wish I had cash for him at the time!
