This is a great, small town hobby shop, located a little off the main drag, so it's kind of hard to find. I was surprised to see a shop like this in Petoskey, but pleased. I found this shop just before they closed one night while walking around downtown on vacation. I thought what luck, I love coins and there's a coin shop that I didn't even know existed! It seemed like a sign of the divine variety and so I walked in, hoping to find what I'd been looking for in vein- an elusive piece of Canadian silver that no one ever has and yet every coin collector desires. Well, the owner was very nice, had a wide breadth of information regarding coins and knew exactly what it was that I was looking for. Unfortunately, he did not have it. Yeah, that was a letdown, but he gave me some valuable tips and we talked coins and stamps for a bit and we told me he would be on the lookout for the piece I wanted if it came across his store eventually, even though I'm from out of town. I took down his information and everything before he closed for the evening. He was a great guy to talk to, very personable and intelligent. His store was organized well. He had a great variety of things to look at, just not the specific coin that I wanted to fill out a coin book of all Canadian silver. He had a lot of nice, rare items and the prices were pretty good. If you're a real coin collector, you're in in for the thrill of the hunt and love of the hobby, not trying to get the best price or low ball an owner. It's not a money-making hobby, it's a time consuming and money-sucking hobby and I know that. I do it because it's enjoyable. While his shop primarily was concerned with antique coins and paper money, he also had some old stamps, vintage jewelry and other antiques, plus coin and stamp accessories for hobbyists.

You'd never know it just driving by -- the place looks like just a simple party store -- but we had a hot tip from another business (the quilt shop up the road) that this place was good for lunch. Wearing dirt bike attire, you would be out of place at a sit-down restaurant, but this place has a pizza kitchen along with a party store, and there is a bench around the corner in the shade (near the hydroponics store, man!) where you can set up shop and have lunch. Back to the grinders... The bread is delish. It crackles! You have your choice of fillings. They also make pizza at this place, so a grinder is basically a pizza sandwich. These grinder things were so huge, each of us could barely eat ours, but they were soooo good, we exerted a special effort. We were happy to be overstuffed, but since we were riding our dirt bikes that day, we really should have split one grinder between the two of us. On successive visits, we have ordered just a HALF sandwich and split that. It has been plenty. Stopping for lunch here is the highlight of this particular dirt bike loop that we like to frequent in the Indian River area. Employees were friendly and very helpful to the point at the checkout the sacker spoke up about a special price on 3 boxes of Chex cereal as my mother in law was making the second batch of Chex Mix. Everything we needed was there - though she was looking for Chocolate Orange and they didn't have any. So close to Christmas the place was packed though and it was difficult to navigate. Given how much snowfall there was the parking lot was in need of another scraping. And also given how far north it is and the amount of snow St Ignace receives I think they should have a longer entry area to make sure snow covered boots can be shed of the snow instead of making the whole store's floor slick and wet as you walk and it melts off.
