The store really should have a Yelp account so others can weigh in and more folks can check this place out. Now they do. Buddied-up with D&W Fresh Market, you have options to not only walk through the store, but order online for curbside or home delivery. I usually stop in for drinks and snacks. We had rescued two cats back in February, and bought our first bag of cat food at this store. Since it is considered best not to change a pet's food, we continued buying it her. When I went in a week to buy another bag, I was told that they had not had time to unload a truck and distribute items throughout the store. When I mentioned my concerns about changing the cat food, Lisa took me into the back of the store to look through pallets stacked high. After several minutes of searching, Lisa found one of the bags I needed - at the bottom of a stack. She then moved numerous bags to get the one I needed. Lisa went well beyond what I might have expected, and I want to give her a very big thanks for her help. We will continue to buy our cat food - as well as many other items - from this Dollar General, largely due to the quality of the staff. Thank you!

The selection is pretty good and fairly fashionable/current but the prices are a bit high for a second hand store. There are little sections of what appears to be handmade jewelry around the store which is really pretty. The thing that turned me off most to this store was the sign in the dressing room yelling at the customer to put back the clothes they try on. What? What self respecting store does that? It's just pure laziness. I don't think even gold mine forces their customers to put their clothes back on the rack and they're a charity and volunteer run! You're also greeted by a "no public bathroom" sign before you even step in the door which just makes it seem really unwelcoming. If I was the owners/workers (listen up guys!) I would take down that sign and if anyone asks for a bathroom then you say "sorry we don't have one, but there's one down the block in front of park side deli". That way you're being helpful and not accusatory. As for the dressing room sign, come on. I get it it can get busy but you're asking your customers to do your job for you. If you really can't for whatever reason find yourself to put the clothes back, a sign hat says "In this busy summer season, it would be very helpful to us if you could return clothes to where you found them after trying them on. Thank you :)"

What the lady from Bloomfield Hills does not seem to realize is the "3 M's" are all 'alive - organisms that spread & grow just like ants or fleas. If you have a library and a book is put on your shelf that has mildew on it, that mildew CAN & usually Does grow & spreads to other books. If you have clothing that has mildew on it, you can see the spots & you usually can not "wash it out". I won a box-lot of vintage 1920's hats at an auction. It was a lousy day for an auction - raining & windy. My nose was running and I could not smell. I got stuck with mildewy hats. Great. SO if you donate a truck full of stuff & the musty smell hits you in the face when the door is opened, it is NOT "one little thing". But it IS like skunk spray - not going away. So please do not blame the helper. Their trash bill is over a thousand dollars a month.
