During the snow storm I placed a pick up order at the Walmart in Petoskey. I just moved here the day before and had no groceries. I did not realize how bad it was outside and had already placed a pick up order otherwise I would have just gone in myself. I believe the pickup attendant that assisted that day was named Al. He did an awesome job handing all the pick up orders by himself (there were many cars in the pick up area). Al literally climbed through mounds of snow dragging the cart through and withstanding the crazy winds. Not once did he complain. He was very polite and kind given the circumstances and being short staffed. Al deserves a raise, additional PTO, and recognition. I wish I had cash for him at the time! read more

It was a decent store for running in to grab a few things for dinner. Didn't really disappoint but then again, didn't impress.

Out of every Walmart I have been to in Michigan this by far one of the nice and brightest and biggest by lane by far. It's not huge or big by any means but still nice. They had there own little beer cave and the pop/juice was all in one isle and clothing is so much better then others. read more

Walmart Supercenter - walmart supercent - Grocery Near Me - Petoskey, Michigan

Walmart is a store I avoid on principle, notably because associates make horribly low hourly wages while the corporation makes more money than Crassus. However, sometimes life intervenes and leaves little choice. Cue a sudden automotive problem while on vacation, hours from home. The only place in town to get an oil change is, in fact, Walmart. I rolled up on a Saturday afternoon while the rain poured down to match my bleak, aggravated mood. An underpaid and highly charming employee gave me directions to the oil change centre while I prayed my car wouldn't implode spontaneously and I still carry memory of his friendly smile on that wretched holiday to hell. I pulled up to the service centre and had 20 minutes to burn in this Super Walmart while they replaced my air filter(s), oil filter, and oil. I credit this Walmart for being cleaner than any other Walmart I've seen, including one on opening day. The place really is spotless with few of the marring features I attribute to the "Walmart Malaise." No clothes lie on the ground, no disorderly racks confound the mind, and the whole place was spic and span. Count me impressed. Through the aisles, everything was stocked and where it should be. Was this the Twilight Zone? The grocery section deserves credit for an appealing display of food and tidiness, too. I ended up picking up a few staples and breezed through the self-checkouts. The attendant was good humoured and friendly. Was this the panacea for my horrible vacation? Alas, it was the only day I spent in Petoskey because I cut my losses and returned home the very day I arrived, sick baby, sick car, and tired family in tow. But I'll say this: the walmart experience was actually enjoyable thanks to a sparkling clean store. read more

Worst experience ever. I called Saturday, 10/20/18 at 4 pm and asked if I could get new tires put on my rims. The associate who answered the call said he would be able to do them so I drove from Harbor Springs all the way to Petoskey just to arrive and be told they could not help me. Not only did I waste time and gas but Jeff (Customer service manager) and Tim (Auto manager) were rude beyond belief when I told them what had happened. My tires are currently very dangerous and I can't understand how Walmart can leave me stranded. read more

So I was surprised to learn my mother bought me shoes cause they were on sale... I'll still wear em. And I've made it pretty clear I'm not a very big fan of walmart shoes cause they've all lasted 3 weeks to 3 months. But I'm not gonna complain. Like everything else in life. It's part of a thing called Destiny. So with these new shoes I'll go ahead and use the money I was gonna use on shoes and I'm gonna use that to get a new headset for gaming, new strings and a strap for Lil Median on payday. Good, clean store and helpful staff...when they are around. Several times I've had a hard time locating staff. Also, this store never seems to have more than 2 checkout lines open, so even when the store is not busy, expect to spend at least 10 minutes waiting in line. And in the summer time, be prepared to sweat. The store is so warm inside it feels like the air conditioning is barely on...or not at all. Way too hot in there. Generally, I come here as a last resort and in the summer I avoid shopping there altogether. I'd rather pay a few extra dollars to have something shipped to me than melt waiting in line. read more

Produce sucks and store isn't always clean. I ordered a large sheet cake from them for a birthday party. I requested that the picture be blown up to fit the cake.....they left it the normal size of a piece of paper and it just looked terrible. I also requested purple frosting for the border and the frosting was piped blue on half of the cake and you can see where they ran out of the blue and switched to purple. I requested sprinkles and there were none (which were not a big deal since I added my own). Overall the cake just looked very jacked up. I try to avoid wal-mart because of how horrible they treat their employees and how little they pay them. My personal experiences shopping there only furthers my position to stay far, far away from this store. read more

Went to go buy some paint...We ended waiting a half hour to 45 minutes after asking for help 3 times.

After waiting in a long line, the usual situation at Petoskeys Wal mart. The cashier scanned a roll of wrapping paper and it did not ring up half off as it should have. Kudos to her, she caught it. She manually punched in the discount and her computer wanted her to call a manager. She called out to "JEFF" and he told her to hang on. "JEFF" came over, and after being asked to approve the discount based on my telling him the rack was marked half off, and also the cashier who saw this particular paper on sale. "JEFF" proceeded to tell me there was no way U of M wrapping paper was half off. He would have to walk back there and investigate and he was not going to honor the half off price. We are talking of a whopping $1.73 and by the way, the manager I talked to after being told I was lying knew exactly where the 4 crates full of wrapping paper were at and that they were in fact half off. I gave them back my whole cart, I refuse to spend money in places that can't treat people with respect. This story is exactly why I much prefer Michigan based Meijer. read more

Jason and Darrell in the tire dept are tops!!! Winter storm blows in and my utility tractor tire goes flat. I need service as fast as possible. Now this Walmart we gave a three because honestly we love the layout of it which we'll talk about later. But as for why it didn't get five, in the gaming center when you enter the store, it's really just a bunch of cheap claw machines. Now you're probably wondering, "But those are in every Wal-Mart." And yes you're right but for example it doesn't have Stacker which is a game we look forward to playing in every Wal-Mart. Another gaming related problem. Do you know the in the gaming section in the back of the store where all the video games are? Yes, well most of those have video games you can test play. This one had one, but the problem is, it didn't turn on or work. However, the layout is perfect. When you walk in, you pretty much instantly know where to go, produce to the right, make up and hygiene products to the left. Clothes straight ahead and electronics to the back. It's just exactly where you'd expect it all. This was written by three friends who have dedicated their lives to visiting every Wal-Mart in Michigan. I went to this particular Walmart today, after a long day at work. After purchasing about 4 items total, I gave my cashier a couple bottle slips. She took those, I paid using my debit card, and then I asked her if I could have 8 quarters for 2 one dollar bills. She said that I could, but then stopped everything and said that she would have to get a Manager's approval. After waiting there for a while, as she picked at her nails, she noticed something on the screen and said "Oh! It accepted!" She gave me my quarters and told me a story about her fingernails and how they were bothering her. I was trying to be polite, so I listened to her drone on and on about her fingernails, and then I asked for my receipt. She told me that she already had given it to me. I searched my bag, purse, cart.. etc. No receipt. I told her that she never gave me my receipt. She said that she did, and rudely asked me what the paper rustling in my pocket was. I showed her that it was a shopping list I had made for myself. She showed me the bottle slips stapled to a second receipt and said, "I gave you your receipt, or else I couldn't have stapled these to this! Do you understand me?" I was a little embarrassed since there was a long line forming. I asked her to reprint a receipt for me. She said she would have to have her Manager do it. After waiting even longer, 2 other guys came over and did NOT acknowledge me whatsoever. They spoke to the cashier who told them that I was 'claiming' I never got a receipt, in a very condescending tone. After typing buttons on the register, they told me that I would have to wait 4 hours before they could print me a new receipt. I left feeling frustrated and embarassed. My overall impression of Walmart has greatly lowered. I will honestly go to Meijer whenever I can now, prices might be higher, but I feel like the people that work there are competent individuals. I have NEVER in my life, left a store WITHOUT a receipt unless I have chosen not to take one. Customer service is HORRIBLE at this location! I do not want to return. read more
