I came here with my friend. She bought a few items. I just browsed and I liked the frozen food section, which had a nice variety of entrees. It was a quick in and out of the store. I did not need anything at the moment, but I did get a bag of strawberry filled candy. My friend went ahead and paid for it. If one is looking for bargains, then this is the place to be doing some shopping. The drawback is the lines to the check out stand is long. The cashier was helpful and friendly.

I used to love this location but not anymore. They never have what I need. I waited until they opened at 8am just for them to not have what I needed! The workers are great and always Willing to help out.

As you can see the cart was literally right next to me when employees decided no one was near it.

I was at the register moved a few feet out of the way to grab a lotion literally maybe three feet away from me and someone took my cart and dumped everything. Employees don't care did not offer an apology and were completely rude. Now I have to go and buy everything that I was already ready to check out and I am totally pissed. Will never come back here. Worst customer service ever. I've been to many dollar trees that were great. Go anywhere but here.

I like the 99 Cent Store better but the closest one I know of is in West Oakland.

I actually like the Dollar Tree and get my hand wash, body lotion and sometimes even body wash…read morethere for cheap. You know expensive that stuff is now at Safeway? I hate living in world where it's expensive to wash my behind. Dollar tree stuff ain't bad. This is also where I got to get my candy and snacks before a movie, because I'm not paying $7 for a box of milk duds at the theater, I'm paying $1.25 at the dollar tree and treating myself to some Wiley wallaby's watermelon licorice while I'm at it! Another hidden gem here is the freeze dried Strawberries, which are expensive at other places and great for baking and making strawberry flavored desserts (blend them up and add them into your frosting, trust me.) Also, cards! They have a large selection of cards! Again, for cheap!! Sometimes the lines be long. There has to be a trade off I guess. They try to have multiple lines open when it's busy but sometimes it's real busy. The staff is always pretty friendly though!

I got a good deal at the Alameda Dollar Tree!…read more I bought 4 photo frames for $1.25 each. That's 4 for $5. Nothing fancy, just a plastic frame and clear piece of plastic. Stand it up or hang it on the wall. But the important thing is.....I got a bargain at Dollar Tree! I was there at 5pm on a Sunday. It's a medium sized store with a variety of items. Everything from greeting cards to food. There's coolers in the back, and $1.25 cleaning equipment. I like to shop here when I'm doing a big cleaning job, and I'll probably just use the scrub pads once and toss them afterwards. Cashier was friendly and moved the line quickly. Dollar Tree is in the Park St Landing shopping plaza, at Park St x Blanding. Free Parking

I love and live by the powers that are Grocery Outlet. Is it a random store? Sure, but I can get so…read moremany things from there at a much lower price than at the regular grocery store. I've come here to stock up grains because of the low prices, and the organic section is amazing. Their cheese section is amazing and affordable as well. Over the summer I came here for seeded watermelon and was not disappointed. The cost per pound was cheaper than other retailers. Same with cold brews, coffee creamers, and non-dairy vegan milks. I've gotten Bizzy's Organic Cold Brew for about $3.99, coffee mate creamers at 99 cents, and some pretty good bar products. On my most recent trip - yesterday - I had searched the app the day before to see what the had for hair. A couple of months ago they had this brand called Next Of Us in their bar care section. I smelled everything like it's a candle. Pleased with the scent of the products I quickly looked up reviews and normal price before buying. Guys, I kid you not! The stretch cream I purchased for $4.99 at GO is going for $15.98 at Walmart. Also, the product was a 10/10 for me. I loved it! I was in there recently as bought my friend two jars, but I may go back if they're still there and buy some more just to keep a good stock of it. When I find something I like, I stick with it. Other cool deals I've gotten here are a 6 pack of Siete Kettle cooked chips for $1.99. Another time I got a pack of 12 Muse sodas for only $2.99 and Torani Salted Egg Yolk Syrup for $1.99. Most recently I purchased this brand of vegan hair care products called SashaPure. Each product is sold at $10 each. I've seen online they're on sale at drugstores for $5. Here at GO they're only $2.99. The price for produce is usually pretty good as well. I love that I often find bok choy at this location, along with the large containers of salad. Anyway, I'm a frequent shopper. I love it here. Grocery Outleeeet Bargain Maaarket

The Grocery Outlet started off in San Francisco in 1946, selling discounted food from government…read moresurplus supplies. There are many stores now - probably over 20 of them dotted around the Bay Area alone - and some items are deeply discounted for various reasons. Sometimes it's surplus stock - like from a great winemaker with excess inventory, if you're lucky. Sometimes products are discounted because the packaging has been updated or is even just out of season, like Valentine's-Day-branded chocolate sold in March. Sometimes items are just getting close to their expiration dates [Excuse us - we prefer the term at our peak!]. This Alameda store is one of my faves. It's in third place for having a fun vibe, after the Richmond and Oakland stores. I feel the Alameda peeps are normally fun-loving but don't seem to be bringing their A-game it to this store. I have good luck there sometimes with wind finds - the really good finds can often be still found here even after they've sold out in Oakland and Richmond. Case in point: some excellent wines from Sebastiani winery that are available this week. Hurry up and get some! The Grocery Outlet is becoming increasingly useful for anyone on a budget, and especially anyone who's trying to adopt a more sustainable, plant-based diet. Meat and dairy substitutes can be expensive, so this is one of my main reasons for going. Overall, I think that the Grocery Outlet deserves 4/5 Green Stars for social and environmental impact, based on these factors: * Stocking food that would otherwise be in danger of being tossed out because of packaging changes, overstock, imperfections, or looming expiration dates, is part of a solution to the huge problem of food waste. Around 30% of food is wasted globally, contributing 8% of greenhouse gas emissions. * GO stores have been trending towards stocking more plant-based and organic food. * The Grocery Outlet stocks a good number of brands that rate well, ethically. For example, Miyoko's, Cascadian Farm, Dr. Bronner's soap, Treeline vegan cheese, Beyond Good chocolate, etc.) * The Grocery Outlet brings plant-based food (meat substitutes like Beyond Burgers) within reach for those on a budget who want to live a more sustainable life.
