Worst, slow, terrible service place to come. I guess they feel because the merchandise is discounted their customer service should be too:

This one is larger than the one on Central Ave. Traveling on the plane anytime soon? Buy your travel-size toothpaste for $0.50! I scored a 3-pack Dial brand soap for $2, one (1) ladle for $1, two (2) travel-size Aquafresh brand toothpastes for $1, and one (1) Colgate brand toothbrush for $1. BIAB, to me, is more than a retail outlet. It's literally a retail "dumpster." You will find apparel from Cos*co or from a designer brand; you will find Rice Krispies that are going to expire in a couple of months; you will a varieties of everyday essentials, such as shampoo, conditioner, body wash, nail polish remover, and detergent. By the way, this list isn't, at all, exhaustive. I'm gonna end my review in a style of "Lord's Prayer." I called the place to ask if they had dumpling cause my daughter wanted some. My daughter wanted to call and wanted to be the one to ask. I gave her the phone and she simply said "hi I was wondering if you guys had any dumplings" and the lady named Lisa said "No" very abruptly and hung up. Didn't say bye and didn't say anything besides "No" my child wanted to ask another question but got cut off by the woman hanging up. I then called back to ask how to file a complaint. The woman (Lisa) answered once again and said she was "too busy" I understand a store could be busy but it was rude. She asked if she could take down my name and number to call me later I did say no and said I could use yelp. She said "mhm" and hung up. She was super rude and I don't understand why you work in customer service and cannot be nice. Otherwise I love the store. Just wanted to put this out there so people were aware and I hope she gets talked to. This is ridiculous. My daughter is now upset and asking me what she did wrong. She is only 6 and just wanted a new toy all her friends have.

I walked in expecting nothing, and walked out with 4 beautiful earthenware plates and bowls, 4 boxes of gourmet crackers and multiple jars of manzanilla olives, roasted red peppers, and pepperoncini for a party I was having that weekend...and yes, every item I bought was $1. There may be some items that are slightly more expensive, but I didn't come across them. I was particularly blown away by the gourmet food selection. I'm definitely going back to stock up on antipasti-type items like marinated mushrooms, artichokes, etc...There was also an extensive frozen foods section. I guess this is a chain; someone reviewed a store in Hobart, IN, and I believe there is a store in Chicago on Western Avenue, as well. There were brand name drugstore items like Band-Aids, Tylenol, Aleve, etc...as well as decent drugstore shampoos, soaps, household cleaners, etc... There is an extensive toy selection, too. The store is clean, well-lit, and incredibly organized. The staff is also really nice...not typical in my previous dollar store experiences. I haven't been able to find a website for this company, but if you google them you can find directories of stores around the country. This is a great place to shop; come with an open mind and an empty trunk!

You always find something great in the store for a very reasonable price. Dog snacks and toys. Found some great planter containers for .25 cents and a summer flavor Gatorade that was great for half of what other stores charge. I found these cheese puffs one time they were so good. I went back and got more a few days later. They also had these little small snack size bags of a pretzel snack that had a barbecue mustard flavor to it and those were so good. They're only $.25 a bag. I went back and got more of those as well but they don't last long once the items are cleared out they're gone. It's a clearance store.

We try to come once or twice a year now but when we lived in the area (a mile away), we'd go at least twice a week. Some things have changed over time but the essence of the store is still there - gobs of food and drink at often great prices, non-food items (all different kinds) at reasonable to excellent prices. We could buy cases of pop for literally a fraction of what you might pay elsewhere. You just kind of have to go in there and experience it for yourself. I have known a few of the workers, particularly Mark, for many years. He's long been a dedicated employee (if he's still there). You will find lots of food items past the expiration date but with very few exceptions I have found the quality inside to be just as though the expiration date was a long way off. Chips are one of those items. The savings are stark here compared to those in regular grocery stores if you don't mind taking a chance of consuming the item after the listed date. I never batted an eyelash. I don't know if they still have tax free Tuesdays or 77 cent Fridays but unless they have dramatically changed, this is truly a worthwhile store to go to for all bargains. The neighborhood has regretfully declined a bit in recent years and its crime elements are on the rise so if you can, try to patronize Continental during daylight hours (perhaps this is why it's a bit more challenging to find a parking spot in their lot during daytime). Hope to go back sometime in the near future. If you live out that way or are within a half hour drive, it's well worth the trip - last I checked.

Okay, let's talk…read more Five Below is basically like a cheaper, G-rated version of Spencer's. What do I mean by this? I mean there's a little bit of everything for everyone and it's all five bucks or less. Need a yoga mat, an umbrella, a cheap phone charger, a Beanie Boo? Boom. Nailed it. Looking for holiday decorations? Magnets? Candy? Cheap cosmetics of no specific brand? C'mon in. It's weird, you guys. If I take my brood in for, say, a replacement charger for my iPhone, I'll leave about thirty dollars poorer. Because Shopkins! Because super soft fleece blankets! Because Five Nights at Freddy's! Because, of course, Beanie Boos! So...yeah. You might not want to bring your kids in here unless you plan on saying "no" a lot or dropping some moola. Of the three Five Belows I frequent on a semi-regular to regular basis, this one is my favorite. Don't ask why. The variety is similar to what you'd find at the Crestwood or Tinley Park stores. Maybe because the employees here are a bit friendlier than the other stores? I don't know. Regardless, I'm not dogging the Cwood or TP employees. I mean...I honestly gave this four stars simply because it loses a star for allllllll.the.overstimulation. Music blaring, sample toys on display talking (or in one instance, it was a toy dog running around in a hula hoop and barking r.e.p.e.a.t.e.d.l.y.)...it's all so much. Too much. Much too much, honestly. So I've gotta give props to the employees for hangin' tough through all that. All in all, it's a solid four stars in my book. You'll probably see me there sometime buying yet another replacement phone charger, so feel free to say hi. Or just run like hell if you see a woman with five kids ten and under. I won't be offended. I get it. ;)
