Purchase shampoo for my sister out of the JCPenney's in North Riverside because I work in that area I live near Orland Park so I returned the shampooed to the Mokena store such nasty attitudes about a return. The shampoo was never opened. It sat in my car so that I can return it and when I got there, I guess because it sat in the car with hot temperatures, it leaked a little well. Lori explained to me that it had been opened and they weren't sure if they could take it back I reassured her. I never opened it. It never came out of the bag. Well, I don't know. I'll have someone go to the hair salon to open up another and see if there was a seal that was on it as she asked another employee to do that. I told her it was never opened. It never came out of the bag well, I don't know that well, I'm telling you it didn't come out of the bag so if it wasted, it may have been due to the heat, but of course well I'll have someone do it this time. No thank you no smile on the face just nasty attitudes and I'm wondering is because of my melanin. read more

I was here this past Monday evening as I had seen some socks on sale online. Went to the checkout, where the young girl immediately tried to talk me into signing up for a credit card. After I told her no she continued her pitch for me to get a credit card that I do not want. And even made her unwanted pitch a third time. Why does the word annoying come to mind... She rang up the socks at a higher than expected price, so I said I thought they were on sale. She said no they're full price, $22. When I got to the car, I decided to check the price online. $5.50 less. I decided to go back inside and I told her they are on sale online, can't you honor the price? Let's be real about JCPenney's situation. It was 7:00 p.m., I don't think I even saw five shoppers in the whole store. She said "No, that's an online price". That's all she had to say, she couldn't bother to say anything such as "I could ask my manager". I told her, get a manager for me. He came up front and adjusted the price for me. So what is the problem with the young brunette at the checkout who showed no regard for a customer satisfaction with her short and unhelpful answers? But, she was very willing to use words when she was trying to talk me into a credit card I have no need for. And not once or twice, but three times. I hate to see this story go out of business because there are few brick and mortar retail stores like JCPenney. If their prices in the store were as advertised online, wouldn't they bring in more traffic? And if they had something that resembled friendly and helpful customer service more people would probably shop here also. She had plenty of time to help me, there was no one in line behind me. read more

My husband likes JC Penney more than I do so I come here every once in a while with him. I am glad we have one close to Frankfort. I have found some good bargains once in a while but not consistently. I am not a regular customer but it's good to have the option. read more

JCPenney - Department Stores Near Me - Mokena, Illinois

This JCPenney is like any other one. They do have a very large section of ladies' clothing that I often visit. While some items can be pricey, there are almost always great sales going on. Today I purchased a nice cotton tee for $7. Their dress section as well as their formal section in general is huge! If you need a dress, whether casual or cocktail, consider visiting JCPenney's. However, their athletic wear section is not good at all and their junior section is often kind of trashy. Overall, I purchase almost all of my 'nice' dresses here and for that reason alone I like this place. I like that there are always multiple registers open so that even when it is busy, you don't have a ridiculous wait time to check out. PS: There is also a Sephora located inside this location if makeup is your thing. read more

I miss the old JCP. Since they changed to this "one price" strategy, I'm not a big fan of the merchandise, layout or approach. I like a good deal, and there are few to be found anymore. The stores are always empty, yet there's no one around to help. Picking up a catalog order takes forever and that's the only way to get free shipping. The merchandise is not that great, either. So happy they are going back to the "old" way of doing business. I always liked the coupons and special sales and am so happy they're returning! The store is clean and well laid out, even though they're not totally finished with the renovations. The sales people are very nice and helpful. Bridget is the best in the women's department. She spent an hour with me helping me find some new outfits for work. I was able to check out with her in the department with this little thing called a Libby. JCPenney The clothes are definitely not trendy; they are traditional, conservative, and classic, but those things at its best. The most enjoyable part about the store are the salesmen who are attentive and respectful. Great tailoring, which is made better by the fact that it is free. Great customer service. The associates always greet you and ask you if you need help with anything. They have a variety of women's clothing and prices are not bad. Girls and Juniors section are not as big when compared to Orland JCP. All the other sections are good. Everything is kept clean and organized. And if there are lines they will have additional associates come up to ring in front to reduce your wait time which I think is awesome! read more

This review is for the portrait studio. Terrible. Pretty much everything about this place. We came here several times and have been repeatedly disappointed. They are always behind on the scheduled appointments, the staff is very inexperienced with the photography and dealing with kids, and the management at this store is horrible. I was yelled at by a manger for picking up my pictures during their "lunch break". I will never return. Extremely disappointing. read more

Great store ! The prices are a bit higher than other similar stores but I feel that JCP offers a higher quality product. I have used the New Lenox locations portrait studio as well and they were great. Overall this is an excellent store and I will continue to be a loyal customer. read more

I came here to return a christmas gift. I had the gift receipt, but they will only give you store credit unless you have the actual receipt? What's the difference? So I'm wandering around looking for something to buy because I know that I will never come back here. And I notice that this joint is like Kohl's. But twice the price. The store was clean and orderly. But it's still too expensive. With Sephora in here I'm quite sure that this place is more for women. As I only saw one other guy in my journey. I didn't even know this store was here until today when I was visiting a friend in the area. It's was way less hassle than dealing with traffic at the Orland JCP. Also this store has cash registers at the front of the store (like Kohl's) which I personally prefer -- no circling to find the shortest line or who is open. I was in line to check out for maybe 5 minutes but considering that it was a Saturday afternoon one week before Christmas I don't think that's really that bad. read more

Every time I come in the store its been very organized but not as organized at checkout. I don't get greeted very much, but when I come to shop I always find what I need if I don't they try to look it up online for me and have it sent to my home. Its a convenient store to shop at. read more

I'm not sure what departments the other 2 reviewer's were in, but the prices are very reasonable, especially the closeouts. And their quality is certainly a touch above Target's. I picked up a pub table and 2 chairs for $99. Same style at Darvin $249. Levi and Arizona jeans were under $30, and they'll last for years. Men's casual shirts were priced from $9.99 to $24.99. A young woman named Justine helped me pick out some gifts in the salon and sephora area. Then I got an intoductory haircut (and a good one) for $20! I think this store is great. read more

Thought this was going to be the 'best" place to shop for mens & women's clothing- I was totally wrong! I hate going to Orland to shop, but the Mokena store has much less stock than many other Jcpenny stores. The prices are high, and unlike Kohls, Jcpenney has so many restrictions with their coupons and percent off sales. I didn't read the fine print on the 30% off coupon and carried five pairs of men's Levi's to the cashier. Sorry she said, the coupon does not apply to Levi's. I walked out, headed over to Kohls, where the Levi's were on sale and I used my 30% off coupon. $138.00 for five pairs at Kohl's compared to JcPenney's $180 for five pairs. Common sense- I am going to buy my jeans at KOHLS. Just proves they enjoy price gouging and taking advantage of their customers! Plus their "American Living" collection- 80% is made in either China, Taiwan, or Guatemala! Forget Jcpenney and shop where returns are simple and their discounts are fair. read more

Photo Studio is horrible!! GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!Manager Sherry completely unprofessional. Tried to get family portraits done....10 people...6 kids, ranging in age from 17 to 3. As we walked in, manager was leaving and told her staff of two they'd be just fine and then told us her staff was nervous. We were there 45 min and got 3 poses done and not one good picture. Gal must've been new, but obviously was not trained well by her manager as she had no clue how to pose us nor get the kids to look straight ahead. We ended up leaving when the camera "froze" and the gal left to call her manager yet she didn't tell us what was going on. Very nice guy working there told us we would receive a credit and that we may or may not get to see the pics that were already taken. Manager Sherry dragged her feet returning our call regarding the incident and in fact was quite rude to us. Manager Sherry needs a lesson in dealing with customers that have been extremely inconvenienced. Scheduling 10 people to be off the same day /time and have everyone dolled up, to leave with no pictures and an unprofessional rude response when it was addressed with the manager?? I'm taking my business elsewhere. read more
