I'd just been to the Daiso grand opening and wanted some things that Dollar Tree has. This store has always been in a convenient location because of WinCo, Kohls, and Walmart. I found things relatively quickly. Some were not available at this location, but that's typical. It's a decent store size. I've been to Dollar Tree stores with 2 cash registers and others with 5. Cashiers were presenting themselves well. Considering my experience with the store on Oakdale Rd, I was happy to visit this one. read more

Today my mother and I left home and headed to Modesto, California, a town or 3 away from where we reside. I thought I had seen all there was to see at Dollar Tree stores however today I enjoyed shopping in this Dollar Tree which resembles absolutely no other Dollar Tree I've shopped in. Right as I walked through the front door the awesome shopper friendly and welcoming design of the inside of this discount store impressed me and my Mom. I've never seen a store designed like this one is. It's huge too! Kohl's and Walmart are located within this same shopping center. I found everything I was looking for and a couple of extra items. They have a fantastic assortment of greeting cards here; even Hallmark brand. I eat sugar-free and low-carb and absolutely love this one variety of butter cookie. They are the best I've found for sugar-free. Picture is attached. Not too low in carbohydrates but definitely zero sugar. The cashiers were all so friendly too and I believe her name was Kristina; spelled with a K not a C. I was complimenting her on the uniqueness of the store and she said that they really do try to maintain the store and the shopper experience. Which makes it a tad difficult when they have thefts occurring regularly as in shoplifting. I can understand how difficult that could be. To date I haven't felt this excited to shop in a Dollar Tree store. That's saying much. It is so clean and the shelves were so neatly organized and full. I was seeking some generic Tylenol which sells under the name Acetaminophen and couldn't find it. Reached out while maintaining a healthy distant to a really friendly staff member and she immediately handed me a bottle as well as another item I couldn't find. I love great customer service and encountering a person who really seems to enjoy their work. She was like this. They have a great assortment of Mylar balloons and party-wear like colored tablecloths, balloons, utensils, napkins and paper plates and cups to match. Great assortment of frozen foods too; it's worth a trip here just to shop the frozen food area. Cleaners, brushes, brooms, glassware and office supplies and so much more. My cats top 3 all natural, made (been buying this for several years now) in the USA catnip was here as well. Picture attached. This is some of the finest quality catnip they have ever ingested and tonight I opened the bag for them and they all received their usual and customary amounts; within 1 hour they were all relaxed & asleep. Hello I was there earlier today and I can't believe the cashiers how rude and disrespectful they are. How "ghetto they are" to the customers this one customer in line she was there with her kids, and the cashier said something in Spanish and English that was very disrespectful, The customer said you should have more respect I have kids here. The cashier said she doesn't have any kids so she doesn't know how to respect basically. I can't believe you have cashiers working for you that are so disrespectful. Longest checkout lines of any Dollar Tree that I've ever been to. Nice employees, but their lines are very long at least half of the time that I go. I wish they had a self checkout line because I never have more that 4 items. read more

This is a wonderful Dollar Tree. Just went yesterday to look at Christmas decorations and things. They had a bigger selection of really good stuff than any other Dollar Tree. (Yes, I have now been to four in two days.) For example, beautiful, wide velvet ribbons that cost over $17.00 on Amazon... ONE dollar at the Dollar Tree, and a big variety of them. It's also one of the cleanest I ever saw. Such a good store. read more

Worst Dollar tree I've ever been to the manager was yelling at the customers to hurry and get checked out because they were closing at 6 even though there website says they close at 9. She yelled that we would be thrown out if we didn't come up front immediately. All this while 5-6 other employees were working but only had 1 check out lane open. One can only assume that she does this a lot as none of the other employees tried to dissuade her from continuing her rude behavior. read more

The store was so clean and the staff was very friendly, morgan the manager, was so nice and helpful. Another employee I think her name was Anna, was really nice and checked out my items fast and efficiently. Morgan and Anna are the nicest retail workers I've ever met, they seem like they have a very fun and friendly work environment, shoot I was thinking about applying lol, but I haven't had this good of customer service in retail in a while. This is a solid Dollar Tree in the vast sea of Dollar Trees out there. I'm actually quite surprised it wasn't a bit ghetto because hey we're talking about Modesto, my still temporary hometown. Walking in I was greeted by the usual bright fluorescent lighting that adorns most of the stores I've been to but the flooring was not the nasty carpeting that I've noticed in some, a plus. Since they have the space, their inventory is actually quite impressive and ample. My boyfriend loves him some Dollar Tree so I must bring him next time he's in town. Picked up a 4-pack of Betty Crocker food storage containers, 5-pack of pens and some other odds and ends all for a whopping $1 each of course! Now I don't always have to go but it's fun when you can make excuses not to mention not minding if someone sees you there. #caughtgreenhanded read more

Not the most accommodating place if you have a severe disability & need to use the restroom. The janitor passive aggressively barricaded the bathroom stalls so my brother used the employee bathroom to prevent himself from having an accident. The janitor then complained to the cash register employee and she explained that it was due to the cleaning chemicals that we couldn't use the restroom. The way they treated my autistic brother is more disgusting than the dirty bathrooms. Next time, hire a cleaning crew with empathy and awareness. read more

I went in tonight to look for some rash cream for my face.. instantly felt uncomfortable. The moment I walked in the young lady at the register screamed.. "We close in one minute!" I was a bit confused but thought maybe time was just going by very quickly.. I was wrong. I looked at the time just to realize it was only 7:54. Now, I know the Dollar Tree on Plaza Parkway closes at 8:00 pm on Sundays but why in the world am I being told I only have one minute 6 minutes before they close?.. I decided to continue on but I had to leave.. Every few seconds, this cashier was yelling through the intercom... "This is your last warning, if you are not in line right this second, you will have to leave". I felt uncomfortable. I could not keep myself there. I talked to my husband about it and my daughter chimes in and asks "Was it a short girl with blonde in her hair?" I told her yes. She then begins to tell me that she has had the same experience every time she has gone in with the same young girl. 7:20 pm... "The store closes in 20 minutes!!!" Not sure what is up with retail workers these days but I can take a good guess that they are losing out on sales. Will be taking my money to Carver store and will be calling corporate for this unacceptable behavior... read more

I've been shopping at dollar trees for years, at times they can be busy but they have good deals. Went the other day to buy some teeth whitening straps that I often get, don't know the cashiers name but he had dreads and was super nice and friendly! I walked outside and opened each box because I normally put all the straps in one box, the box they come in is very large for the actual size of the product. I then noticed one was empty, I went back in, not even 2 minutes after purchasing them, a girl was mad I didn't have the receipt, the cashier told her I had just bought them.they grabbed the manager named Morgan, she asked me why I did not shake the box to make sure it was not empty, didn't know I had to do that! She then said she would replace it but only this one time, I told her to check the cameras I opened the box right in front of their doors, I said I a was not trying to scam them, she then told me that now there whole inventory will be off. She was extremely rude, when she came to talk to me, there was no hi, how can I help you, just so, you didn't shake the box to see if it was empty? Her attitude was very bad, and yes I had a backpack on, was on a bike and wearing gym clothes and I know they assume people with backpacks who ride bikes are homeless theifs, and I know these stores get a lot of people stealing but, still there was no need for her to treat me like crap. and make me feel like it's my fault I got an empty product. Had I have made it home, I wouldn't have gone back for 1 dollar. But since I was still at the store I assumed they would apologize and give me another one. I work retail and customer service, I would have been suspended or fired had I treated a customer that rudely, and blamed them for the what happened. I could tell that she was already annoyed before she even talked to me. Who would go through that much trouble just to scam a store out of 1 dollar . . I mean really, I just wanted what I paid for! I'm not saying Morgan should be fired but, she is not manager material, I feel bad for the people who have to work under her! And Morgan, just because you hate your job, and hate your life doesn't mean you need to make people feel like crap.! read more

So ANY dollar tree is a place I typically try to avoid. I just never have a good experience, grumpy rude workers or reallllly long lines. I usually come here to just to stock up on gift bags and wrapping. Today I had the pleasure of being in Louise's line, she was just a breathe of fresh air. Its the holidays and man has customer service everywhere been horrible. You can definetly tell that the long hours and customers have got to the workers. Not Louise tho! She was so pleasant, keeping her line moving fast,smiling, and interacting with the customers in her line. I can appreciate a good attitude , especially under the pressure of the holidays. Keep up the good work and keep your customers smiling and laughing Louise. You're pretty funny . I probably won't be in anytime soon, but when I do need to make a dollar tree run, this will be the location and I will be in Louise's line! read more

I will start off by saying this is one employee! Most of the cashiers here are super nice but this guy, Jamie is the worst! He's always been a very unfriendly person, even a negative vibe but today this dude was totally on the rag as I told him. Usually I've tried to be over nice to try and make his day better but this brother needs some positivity therapy beyond what any happy person could rub off on him. I went to purchase some items for a birthday dinner. Got to the register, halfway through him ringing up my items I tell him I have a return as well and set the 2 items on the counter. It was 2 burlap rolls. He takes them out of the bag and starts to complain that it's unraveling. It's still in its packaging mind you. I very socially explain that's how I bought it and that the condition wasn't a problem to me, for the project I'm working on...etc. I had actually purchased a couple that way but this one was left over. So, I pay for my items and he hands me a receipt to fill out. I did have a receipt. I fill it out with my name, address and I sign it. I didn't add my telephone number. I handed it back to him, he asks for my number. I say I rather not give it. He says Fine!.. most people aren't so fussy on giving out their number and that I didn't need to worry he wasn't going to call me. What?! Wait!! What did I just do to warrant such aggressive and rude service? I'm still trying not to respond to such a miserable and negative person. I grab my items, place them in the top part of the cart and proceed to return the cart, as I always do here. I'm walking towards them when I hear him in that rude voice , behind me "you can't take that cart out, for your information!" I turned around and said "damn, you're on the rag today, you need to lay off the customer dude! He tells me I'm disgusting and don't come back to "his" store I actually will be returning per advise and getting it on record when and if he refuses me service. You cannot treat people like this without some kind of repercussion/lashback Boycott Rude Service! Get off the rag, Jamie! read more

Stopped in here to find some big balloons which I can use at my work. These stores usually have them. This one didn't, so the search goes on. This store was cleaner than most of them. By clean I mean the floor wasn't littered with items pulled off the racks and thrown on the floor. read more

We'll I'm only giving them 1 star for having all the decorations I needed for my daughters graduation. The customer service was horrible!!! She asked if I wanted a bag & I told her yes. She stuffed it with 22 items then left 14 items on the counter. When I realized she wasn't going to bag it also I asked to buy a bag. She told me no she couldn't ring me up for a bag. I said "WHAT?" Then another cashier asked what the problem was & I told her . She told the girl that she could ring me up for another bag. She rang me up & tossed the bag on top of my items. REALLY???? You know this Dollar Store on Plaza Parkway is so much better than the other ones in town. It's pretty clean and organized and the cashiers are really friendly. Better than it was 3 or 4 years ago for sure. They have a deli/freezer now too and some really nice foods that I buy and like. Overall it's 100% better than the other stores in town.
