The razors were $6 and I had no business trying to steal them and was simply looking to read the back of them and she yelled out no no no to us as if we're doing something bad and tells us that's why we have security tags on them. Lady clearly had a sour attitude and didn't approach us like customers and was unprofessional! She is a worker here and didn't get her name but the workers in general need training on professionalism I always see customers getting held up because of workers conversations, not being fast on helping customers, and there is always trash laying around the place including a really dirty bathroom! Hate to put a NEGATIVE POST but CUSTOMERS MATTER and should not feel off at a place because of unprofessionalism.

So sadly my very short review had been removed and I don't check email often and yelp goes to junk…read moremail. In light of that months later I'm posting a pic of the notice from yelp with my review which apparently must have been reported. So here's the backstory... I'd been going into the place for over a year I would guess normally for quick spur of the moment items because it was quick and convenient for me. On this last occasion we were in the process of moving and who dresses nicely while packing? Right? We were also In The process of going on vacation during a move so there was much going on. On top of that we had also just had an event where I did my hair in "mermaid " colors. I've been using a backpack since my college days while traveling, moving etc. it's convenient you can put a lot in it keep all the important items with you so they don't get accidentally packed or lost. FYI I will continue to use one until I'm old and decrepit and can't physically carry one; so tell me I can't bring it into your business and I will not stop being a patron. Hopefully you are getting the picture of everything that was going on in a very condensed version. So on this particular day ... exhausted from packing Backpack in tow grubbies on. ( side note I've taken my backpack in on numerous other occasions when I wasn't quite so harried looking) and I was approached by a young Millennial who told me backpacks were allowed. I was too tired to explain I've been in there on many occasions with backpacks. Just a note if I was going to steal something I sure as I am walking wouldn't use a backpack and it wouldn't be from a DG Store.... I would use a big purse which by the way they better say you can't have those either! Honestly I believe they only said anything because of the way I looked. A disheveled person exhausted from a day of packing with multicolored hair. If I had gone in 20 minutes later with a different look I honestly don't believe I would have been stopped because from past experiences I never had been. For what's it worth that was last summer and I have not gone back in and my original review must have gotten enough attention that someone wanted it down. So now you have a full review I hope you enjoy it and look at the pic I post from Yelp higher ups. Lastly I realize this sounds brutal and mean but that was my personal experience and how I felt.

I absolutely love the store. I would go down to the Bay Area all of the time and stopping at Daiso…read morewas always a must. I went on opening day to the Daiso in Santa Maria. It is just like any of the other Daiso stores have been to. The prices are extremely affordable. They have so many unique items for sale. Everyone refers to die so as the Japanese dollar store. Everything ranges in price from $1.75 to I believe $15. They have pricing guides up and down the aisles to teach you how to identify the price of items. They offer a variety of Merchan nose from plushy's, school supplies, and stationary to snacks, cold beverages, and household supplies, and a little bit of everything in between. The aisles are a bit narrow, but I feel when the hype dies down and not so many people are in and out of the store it won't be an issue. On opening day, the line to check out was very long, but it also moved at a great pace. The employees were friendly, helpful, and very knowledgeable about where things were located in the store. I definitely enjoyed my first trip and I will be back for many more.

This Daiso is the biggest Daiso store I've seen outside of Japan. I went here looking for a ramen bowls and they had a lot to choose from. The store was well organized and clean and the staff were great. All the food was fresh and well put together. There's a surprising amount of craft supplies at this location and so many things on each aisle, you will want to se aside atleast an hour if you want to see everything. There's plenty of parking outside as well!

Tight budgets meant there were some times we had to rock ProWings from Payless instead of Nikes from Nordstrom's... but we learned that our good names and honest hearts stood for more than our shoes ever could, and to this day, we still understand the value of a dollar. Or 99¢... which is to say, that hard work, moderation, and perseverance have generally moved my station in life that a trip to the ninety-niner is for fun more than necessity. Still, I know where I came from, and I have the utmost respect for anyone here trying to save a few bucks on essentials for any reason. All that to say, this is a solid little 99¢ store in humble little Lompoc. Not so little actually... the store is big, well stocked, and organized. On our recent long weekend in Lompoc, Mrs. Picante and I ducked in here to grab a few odds and ends-- michelada ingredients, sour gummy worms, chips n salsa, and a cursory tour of the other aisles. I always seem to find something I had forgotten I needed-- like on this trip, I found some bamboo tomato stakes that worked perfectly in my little garden at home. Grabbed a couple of coloring/activity books for the kids, priced out some nerf guns. I love that about this store-- it offers frivolity and frugality to each who needs it. When it was time to check out, the staff was friendly and appropriately conversational-- a rarity in a day and age when the front end staff of many grocery stores roundly ignore the customer and carry on personal conversations with other checkers or the courtesy clerks. My compliments to the staff and management of a well-run 99¢ store. This one is a model and a positive example to the chain and the brand. Well done!

My biggest complaint is that there is food on the shelves past the expiration date. I didn't notice this until I got home. One of the items have the expiration date of Nov 3,2022 and the other was Dec 22,2022. Someone is not doing their job. These items should not be on the shelves.
