Come here very often and it's always really convenient! Not coming anymore because a short darker lady had the worst attitude with my girlfriend and I over razors because she thought I was trying to take them off the security tag and made us feel horrible over it! The razors were $6 and I had no business trying to steal them and was simply looking to read the back of them and she yelled out no no no to us as if we're doing something bad and tells us that's why we have security tags on them. Lady clearly had a sour attitude and didn't approach us like customers and was unprofessional! She is a worker here and didn't get her name but the workers in general need training on professionalism I always see customers getting held up because of workers conversations, not being fast on helping customers, and there is always trash laying around the place including a really dirty bathroom! Hate to put a NEGATIVE POST but CUSTOMERS MATTER and should not feel off at a place because of unprofessionalism. read more

So sadly my very short review had been removed and I don't check email often and yelp goes to junk mail. In light of that months later I'm posting a pic of the notice from yelp with my review which apparently must have been reported. So here's the backstory... I'd been going into the place for over a year I would guess normally for quick spur of the moment items because it was quick and convenient for me. On this last occasion we were in the process of moving and who dresses nicely while packing? Right? We were also In The process of going on vacation during a move so there was much going on. On top of that we had also just had an event where I did my hair in "mermaid " colors. I've been using a backpack since my college days while traveling, moving etc. it's convenient you can put a lot in it keep all the important items with you so they don't get accidentally packed or lost. FYI I will continue to use one until I'm old and decrepit and can't physically carry one; so tell me I can't bring it into your business and I will not stop being a patron. Hopefully you are getting the picture of everything that was going on in a very condensed version. So on this particular day ... exhausted from packing Backpack in tow grubbies on. ( side note I've taken my backpack in on numerous other occasions when I wasn't quite so harried looking) and I was approached by a young Millennial who told me backpacks were allowed. I was too tired to explain I've been in there on many occasions with backpacks. Just a note if I was going to steal something I sure as I am walking wouldn't use a backpack and it wouldn't be from a DG Store.... I would use a big purse which by the way they better say you can't have those either! Honestly I believe they only said anything because of the way I looked. A disheveled person exhausted from a day of packing with multicolored hair. If I had gone in 20 minutes later with a different look I honestly don't believe I would have been stopped because from past experiences I never had been. For what's it worth that was last summer and I have not gone back in and my original review must have gotten enough attention that someone wanted it down. This is one of those reviews where I just hope someone reads it and they don't do this to people again because you might get someone who will speak up and say that's fucked up. So I get in line with my ONE item behind a lady with a full cart. No big. So I'm waiting. A like begins to form behind me. Still waiting. She calls for help. They open a 2nd line. She says next customer go to line 4. So I start walking since I'm at the front and have been waiting the longest. And she tells me NO. The people with the cart behind you.....What? So you're not going to let me quickly check out and leave? You're going to have the other person start another large cart and make me continue to wait even though I've been waiting the longest of anyone? And I have ONE item? Legit almost set the paper towels and walked out. Is it the end of my world? No, not at all. But I was flabbergasted that I was denied checking out. Thankfully I don't live on this side of town so I don't have to frequent this location. Just stopped by today cause it was more convenient than hitting Walmart on my way home. read more

Save a lot of money. Buy the necessities. Put good quality name brand food on your table. Yep! All can be be done by visiting this neighborhood grocer. They sale more than groceries. I consider it a little less cheaper smaller Walmart. Usually very clean and pretty organized. Check out the Dollar Deals, you can find some really great items like hand soap, lotions, and assorted snacks. No frills. Great deals. Super friendly staff. Yeah I'll be back. read more

I'm a traveler stopping by to pick up a few things .I was very disappointed by what I witnessed .Unprofessional.There was some commotion going on with a customer and an employee with black / yellow stringy hair. she was challenging a customer over some issue and holding up the line ! Whoever the owner/manager is of this store should be monitoring his staff a little more carefully .. I will NEVER step foot in this store again I was very embarrassed by what I saw . There were other customers getting involved in whatever the issue was as well. The actions from whom I believe to be the manager could of handled herself in more of a professional manner read more

I absolutely love Dollar General they have everything you need from groceries to regular household items beauty products clothes dog food anything really they have it there and the best part is they are open till midnight! So whether you're an early bird or night owl this place or save you when you need it most I love the staff and I absolutely love being in the store! read more

For being named "Dollar General" You would think that the prices are more reasonable, but the prices are actually the same if not higher that most other retail places in town and the store is a bit oddly organized . Won't be shopping here much because of that reason. read more

This is my store! Dollar General I always enjoy my shopping experience with you. As with any establishment there can be a little bit of wait but, again that is wherever you go. 6/20/2020 Waiting for a response - I am waiting for corporate to contact me regarding how I was treated at the Lompoc, Ca. Dollar General by manager Marie and her lead Jamie, I shop at this store every couple of days, I think a few of their employees are amazing! such as Connie and a couple others, however, their alarm goes off sometimes when you first walk in even, or sometimes when you walk out of the store. Today I just WALKED IN with a buggy and the alarm went off, Marie says to me, YOU HAVE TO GO! I was shocked to be talked to like that, I have been a manager for many years, I know about customer service and today just upset me badly, i walked in and started shopping, Marie the manager and Jaime came over to me, and said something about my purse, I said that they can check my purse, this is very humiliating, if you have ever been through something like this, you know how i am feeling, then they tell me that they can not touch my purse but they need me to take it over to the register, this has never happened to me before there and I have not seen them do this to other people,as far as scanning their purse, so they put my purse on the scanner at the register to demagnatize whatever may be in my purse, I am not sure if this is even accurate, that they can do that? I almost left due to how they made me feel! but I did my shopping and went and checked out, I asked to speak to the manager and Marie comes up to me and I said are you kidding that you spoke to me like that and she apologized she said from the bottom of her heart, she said that she didn't think I heard her say, YOU NEED TO GO! I let her know that i am not a person to talk to like that, innocent people should not be treated that way!! I am not going back there again, I am waiting for someone in corporate to contact me, this is unbelievable that a manager would speak to customers like they are nothing, very unprofessional. I was unlucky to have a bad experience and encountered a rude cashier who refused to sell me a nice piece of clothing just because she liked it for herself.. she actually yelled at me for trying to check the brand and the size, then savagely snatched the item from my hands while publicly humiliating me. I have never seen anything like that before... When I complained to the manager at first he seemed helpful and willing to fix the problem but after the employee whispered something to him he changed his mind and claimed that the company wants this item back. like a recall lol ( Yeah right !! ) I lost a lot of time trying clothes on in this store then returning them because i will not give them my business anymore due to their unprofessional and vulgar behaviors.. When trying to complain online, " Dollar general market" website have there own little tricks too. After spending an hour answering their questions and surveys that leads to complaints , you think they finally allows you to write a complain, suddenly they time you out, then kick you out of the page only to force you to start all over with additional set of questions ( big waste of time) will never shop there ever again .. After I told a friend about this horrible encounter I was shocked to learn that she too was short changed by $2 by the same employee using the trick of " having to replace the paper roll" maybe you will forget your change.. Count your change carefully in this store.. or better stay away. read more

I hadn't seen a Dollar General since I lived in Arkansas over a decade ago. Nice to see the chain has made it west and has added groceries to their inventory. BUT BUT BUT BUT BUT: Don't go into this store if you are looking for a bottle of wine. I could count on both hands their entire four foot selection, and it was NOT CHEAP EITHER!
