Dollar Tree is one of those great fully stock stores that when you go into it, you never know what you're gonna find. Yes, most people go in to this business to get there household items, and maybe a few bits of food and drink. But, this store is much more than that. They have a ton of the everything else. Located on PCH, at the building that once house the ninety-nine cent store, this business is easy to find. It's right on the corner of Narbonne. The parking lot is large, so you generally never have a problem finding a parking spot. This being said, this parking lot can sometimes be a bit congested, with a few people driving not that consciously. Just something to keep in mind. What's inside this store is all very well organized. They have their aisles devoted to very specific items. Whether you're looking for small electronic items, maybe something for your car, and the tons and tons of the other kinds of household items they offer, it's all very well put together. By now, most have heard of this store that was often compared with 99 Cents Only Store since they, as a discount variety store, have similar pricing strategies & product lineups. With inflation, COVID-19, & other factors, Dollar Tree is no longer a "dollar" store instead its price base is $1.25 + higher prices for certain consumables & name brands. Still, DT offers decent value... then there's the "thrill-of-the-hunt" shopping experience, which I haven't found at this location yet. This location replaced the defunct 99 Cents Only Stores; it looks the same with similar inventory of snacks, food, home goods, health & beauty items, toys, school supplies (gotta love them low cost composition books), party & seasonal supplies, etc. It's fairly organized but not as well-stocked as its predecessor. My 14 YO daughter's swim team does this away meet "gift" (junk) exchange where they create a goody bag filled with their fav snacks & drinks. They're kids so it's obviously junk foods & sodas, except for the handful who treat each meet with consideration of this bag o' treats may hinder their performance. Dollar Tree has most of their (junk food) munchies & drinks available, not that I agree with their choices but these bags supposedly builds camaraderie. I like that it's next to Grocery Outlet so when I can't find snacks here, I can walk next door to finish up. When we adopted a 5-week stray kitten (my cousin was spaying/neutering a feral colony in the neighborhood) a couple of months ago, I found some cat toys (fishing rod, crinkly ketchup & mustard) for Snow's entertainment. The rod didn't fare well, but what can you expect for $1.25? I came back & didn't find any in stock. =( Recently, I've been laid off & stopped by for Halloween goody bags & candies for my son's class. I'm not a fan of these goody bags but it's common practice & I don't want my son to be that kid that didn't participate. I liked 99¢ Store better because they also offered erasers, pencils, sticker packs, etc. so I'm not giving candy only... though I'm partial to Haribo gummies & Smarties. Oh, if you're having a party, this location also sells balloons, they don't have Party City's variety but what they offer works IMO. Come to Dollar Tree for affordable everyday essentials. It's convenient & budget-friendly, particularly if you're feeling the strain of inflation/the economy. read more

This is a former.99 only it is a large store and easy to get around good variety of items. The selection of frozen / fresh items is limited. Parking is a shared lot as Dollar Trees go this is a nice location. read more

A Dollar Tree in Lomita, with very similar stock to ones we have been going to recently. Most things are $1.25, with some things being good deals while others (mostly related to food) not so much. It is located in a grocery store strip mall with plenty of parking. One new thing I noticed were self-service scanners spread across the store. It seems like the 99 cent only stores that were converted into Dollar Tree branded stores, are the ones with a larger footprint. This location seems to fit that bill. read more

I'd give it zero stars if I could never again, horrible service, really unorganized and the selection for kid items is the worst I've seen. Cashier helping me was terrible, attitude was unnecessary, even the customer behind me was shocked at the responses I was getting from the cashier "Jenifer" she literally told me I couldn't add an item that I wanted to add that was at the register area and charged me as fast as she could so that I didn't add the item. After telling her I still wanted it she said she couldn't ring me up because she quickly started scanning the next customers stuff (knowing I wanted it, it was something for my son) so then I had to ask the lady behind me if I could add to her transaction and I would give her the money for it, the lady said absolutely! Jenifer didn't like that and eventually rang up my item on its own and basically threw my receipt at me. I could've made a bigger deal but I didn't, this review will be enough for me. (I NEVER write reviews) I hope they make some changes there. read more

The good: This was the largest Dollar Tree I've ever been to! It was massive and I think recently opened. There was plenty of parking. I got $38 worth of kids stuff to put into an "emergency toy supply" bag that I could use for restaurant outings or boring days at home. This included Valentine's day painting/craft sets, Playdoh, slime (they have a great one that isn't too sticky), and toys. I got a light up spin topper, a squishy pen with balls on top, Valentine's day candy and more. I will continue to come and get kids crafts and toys. Everyone knows Dollar Tree is a great place to get cards and balloons. The bad: The line was slow and there weren't enough registers open. The Valentine's day chocolates weren't that tasty. The plaza feels a bit shifty. The interesting: Everything is $1.25 now. read more

Be careful coming to the store. I recently use my debit card here and within the same day or two there was someone who use my debit card to purchase Apple items online. Luckily my bank account declined the purchase and they were not able to purchase the items. However, now it leaves me the stigma to come to the store. Just use cash!!! It was the 2nd register I believe and it was an African American girl who rung me up - she wasn't very friendly. read more

Horrible customer service . Sales attendant Esmeralla and the manager store Yesenia are very rude. Esmeralla was making faces while dumping all items at the conveyor and slammed the basket while returning it. Esmeralla threatened the customer to call 911 for pointing out her rudeness . Very arrogant and proud . They talked unprofessional. Manager did not acknowledge customer complain and said " I'm done to talking with you. read more

"99 Cents Only Stores" ceased business in April 2024. In the bankruptcy process, "Dollar Tree" acquired the leases of 170 99 Cent Only Stores in four states (AZ, CA, NV and TX). Dollar Tree also acquired the North American intellectual property of 99 Cents Only Stores, as well as some furniture, equipment and fixtures inside the stores. This location has reopened as Dollar Tree, so I dropped in to take a look. I was disappointed. I have shopped in both existing and new build Dollar Tree stores. Dollar Tree has its own look and feel. Regarding this site, it's as if they simply restocked and reopened. The walls, flooring and fixtures are virtually the same as when as it was a 99 Cent Only Store. They didn't even bother to buff the floors. The bottom line is that store does not have the look and feel of a Dollar Tree; and it's too reminiscent of 99 Cent Only. Maybe this store is a work in process--but I assume that if management were to remodel, it would have been easier and less expensive to do when the store was empty. Also, in most "Grand Opening" scenarios, management tries to set an initial impression by robustly stocking the store. The shelves and racks here were "fully stocked"; but the inventory wasn't "dense"--there was a lot of spacing in between items. read more

Good place for bargains! Very clean inside of the store, things were organized, and the checkout lines were pretty efficient. Saw a few food items with expired dates but it made sense since it's a bargain store. Aside from that there's lots of cheap good and fun little things for kids. Definitely a good place to find party items and favors. read more

Was slightly excited that we were going to have one in the Lomita neighborhood but after going in there I was thrown back that it's just as dirty as the 99 Cents Store was. The floors are very dirty I can still see the area where the old refrigeration system was that had some fresh produce & veggies. The shelves are the same, no new paint job not even an effort. Why open a new location if it's not in the budget to make it actually look like a Dollar Tree? I'm very confused on what they tried to do here but not worth it really. I walked in today to make a return and got in line and the Young lady looked at me very confused and I told her I wanted to make a return. She literally told me I don't know how to do that? I simply said is the manager here or someone else? She looked around and nobody to be found and she had about 15 people waiting cause she was the only one open. I simply told her I'll go find someone just take these people. She was very quiet and polite and it wasn't her fault she wasn't trained it's basic stuff one should know but this is Management's FAULT!! Why not give someone who is going to work there the proper guidance so they don't have to feel embarrassed or go thru this.. I simply grabbed my stuff and went in a search for someone else.. I approached this other young lady Angela and she told me the same thing.. As soon as she got on her walkie talkie the manager came out Erick & to my surprise it's the same manager from The 99 Store... He was just very Bland and I got the vibe he didn't wanna be there not a people person at all. He finally guided the other Girl how to do a return. More people started to get in the lane I was in and she was so rude and she was just like "No", instead of saying I'm not open she was a just very rude no manners or approachable.. later she did end up opening. My whole experience just doing a return just makes me not want to come back I wanted to do an exchange but changed my mind very quick. The store looks very sad and not complete the shelves are very sappy looking and they stocked stuff so separate so they look full. Won't be coming back here again hopefully they are able to have a proper sign and at least paint it green to make it official. read more

Short and to the point. They took the old 99 cent store packed it with Dollar tree stuff and changed the sign. The store is dirty, poorly managed and always poorly stocked. I gave it 3 chances and each time I came the experience is worse. Never coming back to this store again. This store is so poorly stocked there is a never inventory of what I stop to look for. read more

Went in here last week to scope it out as I love dollar tree! But this place was so disgusting. By the fridge was a brown puddle on the floor with a sign just left there with people carefully trying to avoid it someone could have easily fallen. The floors throughout the store were very dirty. It was horribly stocked and the arrangement of the products were all mixed and not cohesive. The employees were not awful, just bland. No one smiled. I was excited about this opening but I can promise you, I will NEVER go back in there. I'd rather drive a mile to a different location. read more
