During the checkout process, the system inexplicably registered a cash back option, despite my certainty that I had selected "no cash back." This resulted in an unexpected service fee of $1.25. When I brought this to the attention of the cashier, explaining that I did not wish for cash back and requested the transaction be voided, she stated that this option was unavailable. I subsequently spoke with the manager, Noria, who reiterated the same information. I find this difficult to believe, especially since there were no subsequent transactions after mine, suggesting no apparent reason why the system could not have voided the most recent transaction. While I understand that $1.25 is a small amount, I see no justification for incurring a fee to access my own funds, particularly when I can utilize an ATM without charge right next door. I have been going to dollar tree for years and I've never been treated so rudely. I recently moved from San Dimas to Fontana and this is like the third or fourth time shopping at this location, today I wanted to exchange two items it was a flag and a flagpole when I asked the cashier she called her manager right off I knew she would give me a hard time just her body language and attitude were horrible. I just wanted an exchange not my money back but she said oh no there's no way I can do that! Seriously? Even another customer looked at her and laughed. Located in the Falcon Ridge shopping center off the 15 freeway with plenty of parking. Came in the morning around 10 and it was a bit of a mixed bag. Some aisles were a mess with stuff all over the floor and in your way, while others looked pretty organized. They definitely need to do better keeping the aisles clean and clear. It was no problem for me, but someone who has trouble walking or is elderly, could easily trip. Other than that the store was pretty well stocked and the cashier was friendly and efficient. read more

Today Jerry was exceptional , while waiting in line to pay . I noticed he consistently greeted every customer at the register, smiling and engaged with each one . Currently at the Fontana store these bags are being sold for $5.00 on a $3.00 and up shelf, nothing on shelf was $3.00. In San Bernardino I purchased it for $3.00, but they sold out. When I asked the cashier here at Fontana why they didn't sale it for $3.00 I was told different stores have different prices. I went in to this store today to pick up a few art project items. As I I was going to check out there were two people in line for one register and a bunch of people in line for self check out. So I walk over to the shorter line when some chick yells at me (and I am not exaggerating). MAM, THERE IS ONE LINE!! (Uh... one line for self check out AND regular check out? Odd) so I say oh OK. Do you work here? (Because ya know she was rude). So she responds yes at which time I tell her there was no need to yell at me. I asked to speak with the manager, and she calls her. I just happened to walk up behind her as she is laughing about it with the manager on the phone. I wait five or ten minutes, and finally, someone else needs the manager, so she comes out helps the other person, then reluctantly looks at me. I'm sure she only heard my complaint to appease me. The store was well stocked with a nice variety of merchandise. The aisles were clean and well organized. They have installed self-check out registers with only one employee manned one open, with a line. I am not a fan of self-check out. It eliminates jobs and offers no customer service, personal contact, or appreciation for my payronage. A machine recording telling me thank you is tacky and dehumanizing. I also didn't like feeling manipulated to use self-check out if I wanted to get out faster. Give me personal service any day. read more

Waited in line patiently for about 10 minutes at checkstand 0 while a male employee filled up balloons for someone. The male employee saw me in line and proceeded to go into the office while a huge line was forming in checkout 2 and 0. When he finally came out he told everyone "I'll take whoever is next on checkstand 3". I spoke up for myself and another customer behind me who had been waiting longer than anyone else. I told him we had been waiting at this checkstand thinking he was coming back, (after all the checkstand light was on). He had the nerve to say that the checkstand we were waiting at was actually left on by a previous employee 30 minutes prior. He wanted us to get in a new line behind everyone else because that's the "fair" thing to do. I am just blown away that the male employee couldn't own up to his mistake on leaving the checkstand light on and causing this problem. What's worse is that not one employee told us that the checkstand was not to be used. The female employee working at the checkstand next to us and the guy filling the balloons saw us waiting and said absolutely nothing. I will never do business at this store again! I really like this Dollar Tree. The workers always great everyone and share their smiles to brighten up everyone's day. They have a pretty good selections of various items throughout the store. My one complaint is that when it is busy they need to open up more checkout lanes. They always get long lines which creates grouchy customers. read more

I'm writing this to simply state how poorly managed this location is. The male manager (sorry don't have his name) needs help. Long story short I go into the store to shop for Halloween decorations for an upcoming party and spend $46+ dollars (with one clerk and about 20 people in line to check out, clerk called for backup at least twice and no backup ever came, and the manager passed the line and told us he couldn't help because he was on lunch!). The following day I attempted to exchange 12 of the items that I no longer needed. I shop around for an additional 30 items. I go to checkout, and the clerk tells me "I'm sorry you can only exchange 4 items". I look at the receipt that states "we will gladly exchange any unopened/undamaged items" (or something like that). So I read it to her. She looks at the male manager standing behind her and he says "ohhhh it's cause it takes a long time to exchange stuff". To which I replied, "That's not what the receipt states and I am purchasing more items than I am returning so I don't see the problem. I was just here yesterday". He says "ohhh it's up to the manager to decide and we actually have enough people here today so ok that's fine". Although I was not asking for permission, only allowing me to exchange 4 items is not something a manager can dictate. I felt bad for the girl who was helping me. She even apologized and stated, "I'm sorry, it's just that he tells me different things all the time". I assured her it was ok and clearly not her fault. Definitely not ok with giving them a 1 star because I would definitely give them negatives. I understand we are all going thru difficult times and on the door towards the inside not outside they had a notice about giving the 1st hour to senior which is completely understandable. However, when the sign is towards the inside we cant see it and the girl told me on the door were only allowing our senior shoppers priority until 9. Ok it was 850. No problem I can wait 10 mins. Within those 10 mins I saw at least 8 people that were young not seniors come in and not told anything and they were not employees. So I try 859. Looking at the faux flowers outside and then made my way inside. The girl tells me again. We not allowing shoppers unless they're seniors or have a compromise system. First if all how do you know if these people are compromised? Ok I left everything and went away. I was not about to get into any kind of argument for no reason. Mind you I work in the medical field. Came into the store and was looking for some glue sticks for glue gun and I asked this guy named billy if he knew where they were and he kepted on walking and finally looked back and he gave me a look like if I was stupid and said "should be in aisle 7 of its not there then we don't have any" and walked away he didn't even help me look for them.
