So today I rushed out the door & left my glasses at home - quelle horror! Lol I work 5 minutes from this Dollar Tree so off I went to get a pair of reading glasses; thank goodness that's the only thing I need them for but I NEED them for work! *sigh* The moment I walked in the door, barely passed 8 AM, I was instantly greeted by a very polite & friendly young man. I got a couple pairs of glasses & got out; have to say reading glasses for $1 is pretty dang good especially since they typically start at $15 at most stores. I bought a few pairs because I'm infamous for leaving them somewhere since I only need them for reading & they're not on my face all the time, LOL. When I got to work I realized that I bought one with the wrong strength so after work I went back to the dollar store to exchange it for the correct strength. I had another nice young man help me exchange them & off I went. This Dollar Tree is always busy because it's in the heart of Fairfax. They usually have some really cool things that other Dollar Tees don't. It's always nicely stocked & clean. All Covid measures were in place. What else can I say... it's a dollar store. read more

I love their stationary cards being 2 for $1. Admittedly I was miffed last year, although with inflation, Dollar Tree probably didn't have a choice. Now it's the $1.25 tree. It's a bit annoying, but where else can you get home cleaning liquids, or other household items for less? Garbage bags and other essentials, will guarantee this place will stay in business. Don't buy their shaving razors, as the adage "you get what you pay for" is true. Other than being a blood donor, I like most of their products. You can get a three pack of Dial shower soap for $1.25. That's quite good, and occasionally they'll have a decent book to buy. Have found these to be pleasant surprises. This location is very organized. Lines can be a problem, but it's hard to find help these days. All in all a decent place for household stuff. read more

1/18/22 Well Dollar Tree is no longer a dollar. The new price is a buck 25. I now think of this store as Buck 25's. Incase you don't know what I mean, the store now costs $1.25 for everything. I find I like to drink the watermelon and strawberry juice that is sold here. The drink has one gram of sugar in it, so you can bet your ass it's a diet drink. Nevertheless, I buy these gallon drinks dozens. Peach, blueberry and apple juice are other drinks I but by the same makers. I have to wipe down each bottle when I get home. The shelf these drinks are placed in look like back mold or just an unclean wall. Cleaning each bottle gives me peace of mind. The back walls definitely need an upgrade and a paint job. I saw a picture of the bathroom toilet and I truly hope that is not an everyday thing. Still, this store may be old, but it has many useful things whe you are on a budget. As a fan of dollar tree, this store has its pros and cons. However, this dollar tree is good for cheap items or for a quick stop for food or other essentials. Pros: Has more selections than other dollar trees. If the other dollar tree doesn't have an item in stock, then this place has it. Browsing here is always fun because you never know what you could find. Since everything's truly a dollar, you never have to feel guilty when buying something. Sometimes, the place is overcrowded with items. Cons: As I said, this place is overcrowded in sections. It's very unorganized, regardless if something was restocked or not. Items were scattered everywhere and even with aisle signs, I still had a hard time finding what I came there for. Not an employee in sight to assist me so I ended up leaving. Why do I always forget about this place!? Ran out of dish soap and other kitchen items and made a mental note to stop by Dollar Tree. They have basic household stuff that you would end up paying well over five times as much at any other store. - zip lock bags, all sizes including freezer bags $1 - dish detergent, huge 64 oz bottle $1 - decorative iced coffee cups $1 - dish sponges $1 I'm a sucker for seasonal decor. I always have to have to have the decorations up on the outside of the main door to my place to correspond the upcoming holiday. So, its time for me to put up some red, white, and blue for the 4th of July! On this visit, I noticed the card section. I rarely go down this aisle. Obviously, they have cards for $1. However, on the backs of the cards the price says $3.85...so if you buy a card, nobody will know you only paid $1. I mean, its no biggie. But for some reason whenever I receive a card from someone, I have a really bad habit of looking on the backs of cards to see how much it cost them. They even have tons of cards 2 for $1. Seriously!? And the backs say like $2.85, so nobody will know you paid .50 cents. And they were pretty decent. Not fancy, heavy duty paper like at your over-priced Hallmark, but pretty decent quality. Yes! Everything is a $1 here! So why not grab a few items. I recommend to shop here for balloons, gift bags, even wine glasses for parties as is your guest brake them they are only $1 also office supplies and even some school supplies. With other items like example candy, snacks and cleaning supplies due the math by ounces as a lot of time is cheaper shopping somewhere else. Not because is a $1 is cheaper. This place should be closed! I wish I would have taken a picture of this totally disgusting store today when I was there. The carpet is HORRIBLE | HORRIBLE, did I say HORRIBLE! The store looks like it hasn't been stocked in weeks. There is trash all over the place, oh and did see a raggy looking old vacuum sitting around - someone needs to plug the baby in and USE it or buy a new one! It's the dollar store so you know what to expect. They have a ton of random stuff from dress socks to plastic St. Patrick's Day hats to cell phone chargers to mini Moon Pies. Employees are friendly and the place was reasonably well stocked and not too chaotic. The checkout lines were short and moved pretty quickly. I think some people view dollar tree as a star that needs to have superior service.. reality is it's a dollar store you don't come here for amazing service you come here for items for a low price. For example, napkins, wipes, balloons, birthday stuff, etc. I don't come here thrilled with the idea of the fact that there is usually only one register open but you learn to deal with it as it is a small store, it's not a Walmart. There is a nice lady who works here who is so sweet and polite, she treats everyone so kindly and I try to appreciate that because her job ain't easy! Sometimes this location runs out of items like balloons but if you ask they usually have everything in stock, just ask. They also occasionally offer organic items as well. Just keep in mind because everything is a dollar size will represent that and some items are not worth it such as baking soda which is only .75 cents elsewhere. This Dollar Tree used to be ok, but something happened, and now it is not only messy, but today doting the opening hours they were not even open. What?! Sone one felt like not working today? Light we're all on, but even after nocking on the window, nobody showed up. I stayed around for couple more minutes. People were coming and going. 9534 Main St Fairfax, VA 22031 This store is located on my normal route, but the last 3 times I've visited, I have wondered if this location might be closing. The store is absolutely filthy! The shelves are understocked. The carpet has ground-in gum and doesn't appear to have been vacuumed in weeks, if not months. I have visited many Dollar Trees across the country and enjoy the bargains and the entire shopping experience. We all come to Dollar Tree for bargains. This store is clean, well stocked, and has nice helpful staff. What sets this store apart can clearly be attributed to the manager, his employees were all in the aisles or keeping an eagle eye on the registers to ensure a speedy checkout. Although I didn't catch the managers name I noticed that he leads by example. I wanted to give this guy credit before anything else. The clean and organized shelves were loaded with all your typical Dollar Tree favorites, as we as, a ton of retail store "clearance reject items" that for $1 can't be beat. Anything they were out of stock on is clearly a shortage of product at the upper level and what you would be able to expect at any location. Hope this was helpful! I've been conditioned to hit up Target, CVS and Walmart for things that I can clearly purchase at a dollar store. No frozen food section, so I took off a point. Otherwise a great place. I used to think that dollar stores sold junk not worth buying, but I have found that even if that is true, there is a lot of useful stuff I can get at prices far less than CVS, Walgreens, or even Walmart. In particular, I like to buy the $1 hydrocortisone for mosquito bites. Its $4 at Walgreens and $2 or more at Walmart. read more

Still I am having a difficult time with this location, it seems like every time I go I encounter some type of issue. I went for some last minute Christmas shopping and clothes pins to decorate my classroom with student work (simple enough). I go up to the first person I see which happened to be a tall white male, obvious stoner. I ask him where can I find clothes pins and he literally said I don't know, you will have to ask someone else. I said someone that works here? Or someone who is clearly not stoned? I was a bit confused, what made it so bad is that he literally hid from me because I guess he didn't want me to ask again IDK, I eventually found it and I hope that it was his very first day and he wasn't acclimated to where things were yet and not that he was actually stoned and came to work ten minutes after hitting a jay. I love dollar store shopping. I very much enjoy my time at the dollar tree. My wallet certainly leaves lighter. It is my go to place for holiday decorations. They always have a good selection for Halloween, thanksgiving and Christmas. They might not be the biggest and the best but it does the job.
