I don't buy online from them because they participate in bait and switch with their "BOGO" special. You get a crappy pair of shoes that they need to get rid of for 1/2 price along with a pair you actually want for up to $10 more than regular price., more if you can find them on sale somewhere else. If you want a particular pair of shoes, in your size, at a discount, this is the wrong store. If you don't know what you want but you want a lot of it cheap, take a couple hours and a friend and go to the warehouse.

I came in to exchange a pair of shoes for a smaller size because the ones I bought were too big. I…read morewasn't trying to return them, just swap for the exact same shoe in a half size down. The associate kept telling me I "couldn't return them," even after I repeated several times that I wasn't returning anything. She told me to go pick something else out instead, which made no sense since I clearly just wanted the same shoe. After a strangely long back-and-forth, she finally pulled them up online and ordered the size I needed. The whole interaction felt oddly accusatory, like I was trying to scam my way into a free pair of shoes when I literally had the original pair in my hand. Second thing: when I originally purchased the shoes on Nov 8, I also bought a pair of socks that I accidentally left at the counter. When I came back on Nov 21, I asked if I could still get them. I had my receipt and totally understood if the timeframe made it tricky. What threw me was her saying she "couldn't verify it with the coworker" who checked me out. I told her who it was, and she said she had no way to confirm because he was on bereavement -- and said it in a way that made it sound like I should have already known that. Again, the tone felt like I was being accused of trying to get something I didn't pay for. Overall, the whole experience was unnecessarily tense and made me feel like I was doing something shady when I was just trying to exchange a size and pick up the socks I'd already purchased. Maybe I just caught the manager (short, Hispanic female in her 20s or 30s) on a bad day, but I was made to feel as if I was a thief when I've never stolen anything in my life.

Upon entering, a security guard also entered and gave us a prolonged and unusual look. At the time, we did not think much of it and continued shopping. Shortly after, my husband went to the coffee section while I remained in the women's clothing area. I moved between the women's section, the juniors section, and then the designer area. Throughout this entire time, the security guard followed me closely, remaining only a few feet behind me. Each time I moved to a different section, he moved immediately after me and maintained the same close distance. At one point, I heard the security guard make a phone call, which appeared to be regarding me. His proximity and behavior made me feel uncomfortable and unsafe. I contacted my husband and informed him that I was being followed and profiled by the security guard. He came to join me immediately, yet the security guard continued to follow me even after my husband arrived. I then spoke with a manager to report the situation. What was particularly concerning is that many other shoppers in the store were dressed similarly to me, sweats and jackets, which was appropriate given that it was snowing. The only clear difference between myself and those shoppers was that I was the only visibly brown person in the area. The security guard's behavior made me feel criminalized and unwelcome, as though I was being treated as suspicious solely based on my appearance. This experience was deeply distressing. No customer should be made to feel intimidated, surveilled, or forced to leave a store based on race or ethnicity. This incident reflects a serious concern regarding discriminatory treatment of shoppers, particularly people of color

Daiso also has a selection of Japanese food and drink items as well. The products seem to be much better quality than other places similar to this. There is a poster in most aisles that show what prices are since most labels are in Japanese. While items are about a dollar more than you will spend at other similar type stores, Daiso was less stressful to shop in and the checkout process is much easier, as they have a self-checkout as well. Daiso is very clean and well kept with many workers available and happy to assist you if needed. Fun place to go and experience. Go see what it's all about.

The shelves were kind of bare but they just opened up about 10 days ago. I was so happy to find they have the Smile Harvest Roasted Sesame Biscuits here that I would always bring a lot of them in my suitcase on my travels to Japan and now they won't get crushed-they are so delicious! Looking forward to coming back when they restock to see what other surprises I will find. Very clean and convenient but kind of funny it is right next to a Dollar Tree because Daiso is usually called the 100 Yen Store!
