I held onto it religiously until the male employee walked by me....my wooden circle was suddenly missing and I STRONGLY believe he took it from me as he brushed by. The female employee who took my bag refused to return my bag to me even though I was able to describe it, give her the number associated with the tag and there was video footage. She then sent me on a wild goose chase throughout the store which was not successful and induced a panic attack due to the close quarters and overall negative demeanor of the "store". Eventually I was given my bag back moments before I was going to contact the police. DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE. This is all in addition to the sketchy vibes the whole store gives off. The woman employee is extremely rude (...in addition to some other choice adjectives) and should not be trusted. Would give negative stars if possible. They should be shut down. Would recommend this place ONLY if you want to feel like you're going to be shot in broad daylight. If they are going to have a bag policy.... Which they only apply to certain customers NOT all customers....they should do it correctly and require legal photo ID write that name down to put with your bag and then only relinquish the bag to the person who can once again provide that ID. Their current system is completely arbitrary and allows them easy access to steal from customers.... Which many times would have receipts in the bags that would allow them to return the items and steal money easily. I hope they get shut down soon due to these scamming practices and discriminatory practices that have been reported online by MANY MANY other customers.

This discount store is in the basement area of Destiny Mall and is much larger than it first…read moreappears outside. Their inventory is massive. There are 15 aisles of stuff. The store is extra long. One suggestion I have to the owner: play music. It was dead quiet, especially toward the back, and the silence was deafening. They have tons of products from China/India. You can find all sorts of fun items here that include school supplies, household items and houseware, vases, religious art, pants, underwear, pajamas, containers, makeup, silk flowers (definitely lower quality ones than the kind you'd see at Michaels), foldable chairs, kids toys, statues, uncommon goods and much more. The space is huge and smells of plastic. They currently have some Halloween decorative items for sale as well. Not every item is 99 cents here. In fact, I'd say most aren't. There were pants that were $10 and foldable chairs that ranged in price and style. The space is definitely fun to browse. I'd come here if I needed to buy school supplies or metal spatulas and colanders. They had a ton of these items. They also had a lot of cool Chinese lanterns. I've been to the mall so many times and had never been curious to check out this store until today.

I hope people are reading and paying attention to my comments. Thank you an advance…read more My story will be long about store location: Ononadaga Boulevard Syracuse NY 6 months ago I moved to Syracuse , did not have anything. I was happy to have this Goodwill story near my home . I shopped every day , buying furniture , kitchen items , clothes , toys for my nieces . I was happy to shop there and contribute my money to the goodwill community . I also did a donation of my clothes . Some time in December I had an experience to see that some employees living in the store with the big bags without stopping at the cash register to pay . I ignored , feeling that may be they allow to do that as a bonus. THIS IS SOMETHING TO CONCERN WHO EVER DONATING THEIR STUFF. Yesterday evening after my work , as every other day I went to the store. Shopped around the store ,looking for nice stuff for my home . Purchased few small pieces of furniture , some cups and more. When I came to the cash register , there was a employee who is very nice lady and a manager name Katrine. They told me that I changing the stickers on the items . The manager was very unprofessional nasty, insulting me on front of all costumers at the line. I asked her to show me any proof of what she saying . She said that she has me on the camera . I asked her to show me , she refused to do that . I called police . was waiting for 1.5 hours. When police arrived that didn't really help me saying that it is a private store and a manager can choose what to do . I got a police report number . Hope this number and my complaints to the headquarter will help to investigate about this store. Meanwhile I am not returning to this store any more. And once again, to people who are donating to this location , please be advice that your items will most likely will be stolen by employees of the store. We are the people who donate and shopping. This store is people to people .

TWICE now, I've went to the Tops Camillus store to retrieve my Instacart order…read more The first time, after checking in, they never came out to my car in a reasonable amount of time. I called them after waiting about 20 minutes and no one answered the phone. I finally got through to the deli and they patched me to the manager, who brought out my order. He apologized and said the employees didn't hear the alert go off. The second time was WAY worse. I checked in and waited probably 15-20 minutes. After no response I called their service desk, no one picked up. I called the deli, and no one picked up. I called back a third time and it didn't even go to their outgoing menu. Someone picked up and said just "hello". I asked if it was Tops Camillus and the person said yes. I told them I've been waiting for almost 20 minutes. The person put me on hold, talked to the manager, and told me they wouldn't be able to help me. I was surprised. It's just pushing a cart out. I told them the last time this happened, the manager brought the order out himself. I told them the manager could bring it out like last time. The person said they would. So I waited another 10-15 minutes and no order. I called back and asked when the order was coming. Apparently I was talking to the "manager". He said there was a problem with the order. There was "a bag missing" and they wouldn't be able to fix the order tonight. At that time, I told them to just forget it and refund my money. They said they couldn't do refund me and that Instacart would have to. Bottom line, if Tops Camillus is going to offer Instacart shopping and curb side pick-up, they should be properly staffed to support their offerings. They shouldn't mis-shop orders, they shouldn't lose bags, they should fulfil the pick-up portion of the order, and they should rectify issues instantly when problem occur. If they can't do these things, then they shouldn't offer the service. I will never go back to that Tops or any other one. I would have given 0 stars if possible.

In later years, many (certainly not all) but far too many of the older check out women working in the morning (when older people often shop) are rude, harsh, uncooperative and unwilling to listen to simple customer requests. I organize my items and corresponding bags according to what I can carry out of the store and into the house. (Cold items separate, heavy ones in cardboard bottomed bags so my son can later bring them in). It's simple, fool proof and necessary with arthritis. The younger clerks appreciate the organization but again today, with only two registers open to force people to check themselves out, the clerk would not listen to this simple request. I literally do all the work of organizing and providing the right bags in order. I am polite, friendly and respectful (at age 63). As usual "Susan" would not consider listening, and therefore I had to stand at the end of the check out and repack the entire order. Wegmans is further away, has a better produce section by far, but I have always liked this Tops store, just not the staff. Until now. It's time to order online and/or spend my considerable grocery dollars where common respect is not a lost cause.
