I stopped by the Dollar Tree to pick up some balloons. This store is so, so, very messy. I'm not sure how they're allowed to operate under such mess. There's things thrown around in every isle. There's boxes randomly placed in the middle of shelves. The floors are dirty, there's mysterious things under the shelves. The only section that looked a bit organized was the Halloween section. While I did find the balloons I came in for, I almost wish I didn't, it took me eternity to get out of this store. They only have one cashier working, the line is super long, and the people aren't happy. The register was having trouble with credit cards. Do you think they opened another register, to help speed things up? No, they didn't. They just had everyone wait.. Do not go here, you will end up frustrated and with time wasted. read more

The store is much cleaner and organized compared to my last visit. I found what I needed and had to get on the long long line. Only one cashier was working - I do not get this! There were three other crew members putting new merchandise out. I wish the management would think of the customers ONCE IN AWHILE here. The location is a high traffic shopping center - the store is unbelievably poorly managed. Years like this unfortunately. I will go to FAMILY DOLLAR for better service. The holidays isles are always fully stocked but the everyday items are always scarce at this location. I've never been here and was able to get everything I came for. I'm not sure if it's a lack of stock or the traffic volume is heavier than other locations. Either way I only stop here If for last minute items like balloons or greeting cards because anything else would be a hit or miss. Like most Dollar Trees it is in a plaza which means a huge parking low with other stores but that's about the only plus for this location. I wouldn't recommend a trip here other than for balloons and festive items. read more

A quick and easy stop by for some last minute stuff. You are better off coming in during the off peak hours as the store can get busy and they are getting through transactions as quickly as they can but I've seen it busy in the morning and the afternoon after work hours. You've been warned. Some things can be in a disarray but you'll be able to get your last minute needs. I'll always go there for gift cards for upcoming celebrations and located right off Cottage Grove you'll be able to get in and get out as you travel to I-91 or head towards West Hartford or Avon. read more

I had time to kill before work so I stopped by to check out the Dollar Tree. I didn't like any of the shops in the Stop and Shop plaza so Dollar Tree was the only option. I'm glad I stopped because I noticed this Dollar Tree had an amazing selection of Tupperware and some old time candy. They had tons and tons of candy from the 1950s. I used to remember enjoying them when I was younger, I don't have them often but knowing that I can find them was a nice feeling. They had Lemonheads, Jawbreakers, Cry Babies, Black Forest Gummies, Boston Baked Beans, Red Heads etc. If you're into creating gift baskets these boxed candies always come in handy if you're aiming to please someone from a certain era. Aside from the amazing candy isle for they had Jamaican biscuits (cookies). I didn't go crazy and fill a cartful, I simply just walked around and made a mental note of things I can find for a $1. They have tons of brand name items but packed smaller than their normal retail size. Sometimes it's a wacky flavor that's only popular in certain parts of the country. For example I saw a few Betty Crocker kitchen accessories, I didn't purchase any but for someone in college that's a great buy. You buy and use for a semester and trash. With the Dollar Tree you have to be very careful because sometimes they have knockoffs that look like the real deal but instead of a bull they will use a cow with the same color scheme. I only purchase things I'm knowledgeable about or otherwise I purchase items I know I won't regret wasting $1 on. The selection at this store is amazing compared to the other dollar stores I have been to. The lines are LONG LONG and the isles are always crowded because the staff is always stocking the shelves. I hate the lines but this is my go to place for gift bags. I don't do cards from here because they're cheaply made but haven't noticed the quality in the gift bags. I will buy coconut biscuits here and will grab weird flavored drinks. If you're looking for gift basket fillers this is the place to find "junk" to add onto the main gift. Seriously where else can you find COLD SORE cream at the registers? Oh if you don't know the area well, just be mindful. I wouldn't go after 5PM. read more

Ick! This place is just the pits. It's always just so filthy when I go there! The floors are completely sticky, DO NOT wear flip flops inside EVER. I've tripped on countless unstocked items in the aisles. There's always just 1 register open even if there's 40 people in line. The manager is rude to his employees who try their best, but suffer because they're understaffed. I've found dead flies in their fridges that have just sat there for 3 days! No one cleaned them!! Open cheeses and melted butter. Just not a fun day. Only plus is : The location is convenient, the Copaco plaza is great for parking. Just make sure you Lock your Doors. read more

Compared to the last dollar store, (if you would even call it a "store" lol!) I shopped at a coule weeks ago, this store was MUCH friendlier and more helpful. The employees were very pleasant and made you feel welcome there. When I asked which isles certain items were in, the store employees took the time to physically show me instead of just pointing and indicating that it was somewhere over 'there', which happens a lot in some stores. How I hate that so much, when store employees who don't want to be bothered with doing their job just try to dismiss you as quickly as possible! Here, that was certainly NOT the case at all. The employees were very obliging and seemed to enjoy doing their jobs, which is assisting customers. The selection itself was pretty wide, and I was especially impressed with how many frozen foods they had. I've been to other traditional dollar stores that don't even have a frozen foods section, lead alone one as large as this Dollar Trees had. I also felt like the merchandise was very well organized and presentable to customers. Items which belong together were grouped together in the designated isles, and the only item I had trouble finding were a pair of pot holders, which I did eventually find with the help of one of the store associates who was very helpful. (After all that 'trouble' I decided not to even purchase them, lol) I've shopped here quite a few times now and each time I've been in here I have always had good experiences. The store itself is very clean and of course their prices can't be beat!! How would you be able to beat their price when everything is as cheap as it is, lol! I have had occasion to go to the Dollar Tree in Bloomfield. For several months now the store has been in disarray- boxes in the aisles, displays falling off the wall, poorly stocked shelves, and a general disorganized atmosphere. Usually the lines are long and they do not have enough cashiers on staff. When I mentioned the condition of the store to the manager on staff, her response was to say" there is a different clientele in the Bloomfield store and that she does the best she can given the customers that come to the store" That response was extremely inappropriate and unprofessional, to blame the customers for the condition of the store. Given her logic, ALL of the stores in that shopping plaza should be in disarray; however, hers is the only one in sloppy condition. read more

Stuff here is incredibly cheap, it's a dollar store obviously. So you can't expect too much in the realm of cleanliness, stuff is always strewn about, or quality, things are a dollar after all, but can I at least ask for friendliness? No matter what time of day there's always a line of at least 7-10 people. There's only ever one cashier. Customers are always angry and the lack of employees there. The prices and selection are good but not worth waiting in line for 20-25 minutes to buy a few things. You're saving money, but wasting a lot of time. read more

I'm rating a dollar store here so I'm comparing to other similar stores. This place is fairly large even though it doesn't appear so on the outside, they have at least 4 rows that extends far to the back. One of the few places where I saw a selection of frozen foods. They also have things here I haven't seen from other dollar stores such as loofa on stick, a large selection of candles, snacks and candy, and they even had a selection for aluminum foil! Overall The area the store is located is not where I like to go persay but there is a McDonald's there, Payless, Burlington factory and a small place where Jamaican beef patty is awesome. read more

Ha, this place is Crazy!!! I have a lot of fun here. This is the only place i will give 4 stars on a store where the employees are super nasty and rude. No one smiles, they all hate there jobs and that's what makes it pretty funny. They have a selection of hot sauces not found in Southington.
