We go up and down with our feelings about Stop and Shop. The one we frequent in Litchfield comes in…read morefor regular criticism for its pricing and unavailable items, and praise for its mostly helpful, friendly staff. Our visit to Unionville SaS was a bit surprising. The store is twice as large as Litchfield with commensurately more items filling the shelves. We liked the large produce section. Pricewise we bought hot dogs and buns, priced similarly to Litchfield, but some canned goods were cheaper here. There's lots of room to move around, and we found help when needed. The store appeared clean, and we had no issues inside. Lots of parking outside, sadly with drivers who insist on hurtling through the area as if it's a racetrack. Anyway, not a bad experience; it's a grocery.

This Unionville Stop and Shop is located in a plaza right in the bustling downtown. Parking was…read moreplentiful and the store was clean and organized. It's updated like the other S&S's nearby. The prices were also comparable and the customer service was cordial. On this trip, I wanted to get a small tub of Willow Tree Chicken salad and it was on sale for $9.99, which was $1 off from the original price. The sushi was fresh and tasty; I saw the chef working on the rolls. The croissants from the bakery were soft and scrumptious. They had plenty of self checkouts; my only qualm with those, is that they're very sensitive. Everytime I use them at any Stop and Shop, an associate will always be alerted by the machines to assist me. Overall, it's a standard grocery store and comparable to other Stop and Shops.

Originally reading reviews of the store I wondered how a CVS could be so bad. After living nearby…read moreand using it I figured it out. Photo - I placed several orders online to be picked up. One time I found that 2 or 3 5x7 or 6x6 ones were printed as though the ink had run out in the middle. When I inquired about getting them redone or get a refund I was told I had to call corporate. When I called corporate they said the store could handle it themsleves. After impatiently explaining that I was caught in the middle, someone contacted the store to have them reprint the photos but we had to pay and receive store credit. (?!) I decided to give them one more chance and the same thing happened. I never got photos printed there again, instead driving to another CVS 10-15 min away where when the manager couldn't find where they'd put the order, he printed it out again for me free of charge. Pharmacy - The people who work behind the counter here are some of the rudest people who act as though you are bothering them. They open late, close early and everyone goes to lunch at the same time so don't plan on dashing out to quickly pick up your meds during your lunch break. Parking isn't great and you have to be careful when crossing from the lot to the store because people driving into the plaza don't always slow down.

I rented a suit for a wedding I was in last weekend. The live band was incredible, and, per usual,…read moreI entered the dance floor with hip-swaying aplomb and a swagger that would make Usher jealous. The only problem was I didn't (or didn't want to) factor in the tightness of the pants rental. In one of my signature gyrations, I lowered my body down towards the floor, only to hear a heart-wrenching popping noise. When I came up, the pants were assuredly cleaved in two, with only my badonkadonk and my passion for pop cover bands to blame. There seemed no way to fix the problem. I was forlorn. Compounding the issue, I needed to return the pants to the rental company in three days. Not only did the talented tailor at Tasia fix the pants with, what I can only assume is some type of sorcery borne from the dark arts, but he managed to do it in not just days, but HOURS. I can't say enough good things about this sartorial magician and this tailor shop. Feel safe in the knowledge that if he/they can fix a wardrobe malfunction caused by an uncontrollable derrière, they can assuredly produce any alteration you need.

I came in asking for my wedding gown to NOT be hemmed but instead get something added to the dress so I can carry it (think bustle/ wristlet). Once the lady understood I would NOT be paying her for a complete tailoring she became stand off ish and made me feel stupid for asking for this "unconventional" service. I then asked how much she would charge me to hem my dress and she said starting price: $880!! Cash only is also very odd. Fast forward a few days, I took my gown to another seamstress who said she adds wristlets all the time and can easily hide the fabric in the seams. She charged me $20. When I asked how much she'd charge me for a full hem, she said: $220. I highly recommend going somewhere else. There is a great seamstress in west Hartford. This place is off.
