99 Cents Only store is no longer full of 99 cents of stuff. There are items that are more than 99…read morecents. The items that cost more than 99 cents will clearly be indicated. This 99 Cents Only store is my go-to store when I'm in the high desert. I've been to the one in Victorville, but I prefer this one in Hesperia. It's usually organized, but there's been occasion when it's a little messy. You can find some neat stuff here... you just need to walk through the aisles and seek what you're looking for. Surprisingly, they do have a good selection of a variety of goods and foods, too. They have a refrigeration section and selective fruits + vegetables area. I normally buy baby wipes, ear buds, b-day cards, maybe some candy, etc. Staff is usually pleasant. You can't beat 99 cents for things that may cost more elsewhere. Sometimes I come here first before going anywhere else. Location is in a small plaza. Parking is plenty. Just because it's 99 cents doesn't mean it's the cheapest. I have found in the past for the same item, Walmart or Target may be cheaper or at the same price. If you find yourself nearby and need to pick up something quick, come on by and see if they have it! They sell arts, crafts, tshirts, fabrics, sewing items, knitting and crocheting items, faux flowers, gifts, licensed items like Minecraft, Super Mario, some anime and more, they sell seasonal decorations based on the season (Christmas, Autumn, Summer, Spring, etc) they have birthday items, household items, resin, resin molds, earrings and earring making kits, and so much more. It was 15 mins or so prior to closing time. Upon entry, I wasn't greeted right away probably because they were attending to two other customers. Eventually, a lady walked over and offered me a sample chocolate as they usually do. Thank you ma'am! It's a good size shop. Not too big nor too small. They have a neat wall art with a lollipop to measure your height. Creative! One side of the shop has all the pre-packaged chocolate boxes, cans, etc. My go-to is Nuts and Chews. The other side is where you get in line and when it's your turn, you get to build your own box or bag of delicious chocolates. Let's get what satisfies our sweet tooth! I bought about one pound worth of rum..almond..peanut nougats, pecan..almond buds, and scotchmallows. Some flavors come in milk chocolate and others come in dark chocolate. I like both kinds. I'll get what I can based on their availability. I didn't try any new flavors. They usually don't make my top cut for some reason. It would have to be really really good. Sometimes when they already have the best flavor, it's really hard to beat IMHO. Despite of the increase in the price of $32 per pound, I am still happy to support See's Candies. It wasn't closing time yet. I asked her why the doors were locked. She said they lock the doors when they go have lunch. It was around 5:00 PM so it must have been a very late lunch. Thank you Miss! Throughout the time I was there I was constantly asked how my shopping was going and every lovely lady working there was so sweet. When it came time for me to pay I was standing in line and started to feel faint. I'm 6 months pregnant and knew right away something was wrong. Luckily an employee (I cannot remember her name) stood a few feet away from me so I walked up to her and asked if she could help me sit as I felt like I'd pass out. She took a hold of my arm and a couple steps in I completely faint and hit the ground. Right away her and another worker (I don't remember her name either) made contact and called 911. They made me feel so comfortable in this situation and did everything to make me feel safe. I want to thank these employees from the bottom of my heart. Buyer beware! They are selective about their return policy. I purchased a generator in Humboldt while camping, our generator gave up the ghost while out and I needed a replacement. I grabbed the only one they had from the closest store, which was 1 hour away from our camping site. After getting it all the way to our campsite, I find oil all over the unit and bed of my truck. The oil that came with it had broken open and covered everything. Not a huge deal, but there was no way I was driving another 2 hour round trip to get oil. So we just dealt with it. The unit was never used. I called customer service and explained what happened, and they said I could return it to any store, and that I did not have to drive back to the store I purchased it. Great right? Well not if you take it to the Hesperia store. I immediately get told we do not take back used generators. Explained it had not been used, it was in the condition it was purchased 3 days before. The person would not budge, even after I showed my receipt and a picture of the oil all over my truck and the condition of the unit when purchased. I asked him to show me where on their website it said "no returns on generator" and he got very combative and walked away. I called customer service at corporate, and they said they could not override the store and would escalate to the district manager. So now I sit here waiting for someone to make a decision, that according to their own website should not even require any thought at all. Your website says clearly I can return it and the item is not on their non return list. I am going to file a consumer complaint with the AG office and also file a consumer complaint with the BBB. Based upon all the negative reviews, I do not see this being resolved at the store level. I see no reason to purchase from a company whose corporate policy is to ignore its own written policies.
