After donating my items, I noticed a DKNY tote bag for $20! You could probably purchase this new at TJ Max for not much more. What's going on with independent thrift stores that are pricing like Goodwill? When I asked about the high pricing on the DNKY tote bag, the clerk quipped back some sarcastic remark. I have dropped off some nice donation items before at this establishment, but no more. I will do my research and find a non profit that gives my donations away to people in need for free.

The business has a sticky note that says there's a small fee but it is not defined. A small fee is maybe 1-2% of the charge. I will no longer do business here because it's unethical to not be transparent in your fee structure and to charge so much to the majority of your customers. The super friendly and solicitous hat maker (haberdasher?) and salesperson told me it was a family run and operated business. Easiest money I have spent in a while. Look for them at Portland Saturday Market and the Oregon Country Fair. Update: 11/2/16 I returned last weekend to buy a hat for my day gig to make sure I looked neat and tidy. Jakob, the hatter, spent quite a bit of time with me to pick a new hat that fit it's purpose and my size. Completely hand stitched and one of a kind, it took me an hour to find just the right one from his ample selection. I am quite pleased with the outcome. The store (which I think was once a Yoga studio) has 2 spacious rooms (front and back) and plenty of space to spread out and dive in. The selection is well curated (and organized) and priced accordingly. Hermeticus really requires multiple visits as there's so many exploration options. The person working the day I was there, was well versed in what topics I chose to bring up. I'll be sure to visit again the next time I'm in Ashland and hope that I can pull the trigger on a unique art piece or some personal literary masterpiece.

The Blu-rays went from being a decent collection of obscure films with some mainstream titles thrown in, to knock-off garbage and year-round Christmas movies. The store's supply of electronics and cables, which are surprisingly durable, decreased to the point where they weren't even carrying micro-USB cables any more, let alone USB Type-C. While they seem to be on the mend in the last month or so, it's still far from what it used to be.
