One is more of a wide variety but more modern, Tree house focuses more on kids and young adults, the Book Exchange is more like a library with collections, older , modern, categorized etc. this is a wonderful thing because you can't help but go through all of them. Treehouse does have a wide selection but over all vibe is bring your kids in and there is a flavor of literature for everyone. They are price very well and I was even able to get a replica ring of THE ONE RING ... TO RULE THEM ALL lol . Treehouse is a wonderful spot so don't pass it up.

During a road trip to Portland, my wife & I stopped in Ashland for a day.  While walking around…read moredowntown, we found this lovely children's bookstore.  Housed in a former bank, the staff here have crammed children's books, toys, games and other trinkets in every nook and cranny of the place, including inside the bank vault in the back of the store.  They have optimized the small space, offering the inventory of a much larger store.  Despite the vast number of titles available, the store is very clean and well organized.  The staff are also very helpful and were willing to answer all of our questions.  This is a must stop for us the next time we visit Ashland!

The back area of the shop is set up as a play space for the kids and they have snacks, toys, and great stations set up for imagination-based play. The guy was spending like 10-mins just explaining details about jewelry they sell to a customer who did not want to buy anything just for fun! The lady behind the counter who helped me was super friendly and nice. And she wrapped what I bought with a lot of care. I wish I lived in Ashland and could visit them more often. I bought a few of their beautiful leather bookmarks for myself, but they're going so fast because everyone loves them and wants one! I wish they had things they sell in their store on their website too, so I could order more bookmarks, but sadly that's not the case.

I was able to find a device that had been eluding me for weeks: a spiralizer large enough to handle the stupid huge zucchini that my garden churns out every year, and finally, I found success here! I've seen less selection of cooking doo-dads at big box stores, even those that specialize in culinary contraptions. Now, I'm going to have to pray there's a Paddington Station closer to home when I'm looking for the next gadget, or I'll be making frequent trips to Ashland. My wife had similar success, leaving with a dress for herself and our daughter, as well as a couple of cute flower rings. The selection here is almost overwhelming, but if you're like me, and at least *try* to avoid buying everything on Amazon these days, skip the big box stores, and make a stop at Paddington Station. If you can wear it, hang it up, or use it at home, it's probably here. (FYI, Yelp has two entries for this store in Ashland, so if you're experiencing déja vu reading this...now you know why!)

Beanie babies, Lord of the Rings figures, Video games, Littlest Pet Shop, Little People (the ones we grew up with), Nerf Guns, DVDs, the itty bitty Polly Pockets (I haven't seen one of those since I was a kid), old PlayStation and video game accessories, Vintage clothing, Schleich figures, dolls, cars, and so much more--I felt like I had been transported back to my childhood. I saw toys that I or my friends had when we were growing up, and the nostalgia hit hard. As I walked around the store I felt a sense of childlike awe, and was caught off guard when I saw a beanie baby horse that I had as a child and had lost. It was a little bit like traveling back in time. Their prices were much lower than I had anticipated--especially since most of what caught my attention were toys I haven't seen anywhere since the early 2000's. The collection included a great deal of rare toys, games, and stuffed animals. They also had some toys that I've seen in the stores more recently, but Shiloh's Picks had a much more appealing price tag for them. The proprietor was friendly and approachable, and seemed very knowledgeable when it came to different toys and games. If you are looking for good toys on a budget, or rare items that you can't find anywhere else, this is a great shop to check out.
