This place is such a rip off!!!! The old guy with the colored black hair is awful!! I brought in a few necklaces 18K gold weighing in at 28 grams. I only needed $1000 to get my cat out of the vet, he tried to hassle me saying he can only do $400 which is complete BULLSHIT!! Gold is $4200 per 1 oz right now. And then had the audacity to print a ticket stating it was 14K thinking I wouldn't notice. There was no way in hell I would've left my gold there with them. I took the $ because I was in a bind and then came back a week later to get it out of pawn. Don't deal with these losers! I want to alert all that there is a 3 day return policy with a 25% restock fee. Then you have to pawn it back to them if it goes over 3 days and you get 50% only back depending on the item and condition. I lost $500.00 on a $1,000.00 recliner as I returned it in 5 days. I have a two part review: 1. The main Barn: If you like used goods, you can get caught up for a couple hours in here. There's a lot of great and unique items in here. For the most part, everything is priced right. Staff is friendly. 2. The Furniture store (New): They have a decent selection of items. They are not selling the greatest quality stuff, but they know that are price accordingly. In others words, if you want good looking for fancy things, this is not the spot. Top notch store! We had an issue with the sellers of our new Grants Pass home leaving an ugly and built in the wall entertainment center. We had no clue they would leave this monolith behind and had already purchased one at Picker's. Even though we had already prepaid weeks in advance, Picker's Management allowed us store credit instead and we actually found more furniture we could use. They also work with us on pricing, reducing two items upon our request. Friendly staff, an AMAZING amount of furniture and other items, people could spend hours there. Also the person who rated them 1 star because "They don't publish their store hours" get a hobby would you? How rude, we drove 7 hours from Lake Tahoe and were treated like gold! An excellent hidden gem! If you like thrift store and bargain hunting, this place is for you. Just browsing is fun in itself, seeing all the random consumer items that haven't been sent to a landfill. It's like people took all of the good stuff from a regular thrift store, and set up booths for a bunch of peoples different stuff. I stop here everytime I pass through Medford, it's allways worth a visit. There is also a taco shop right next door, and its not a far drive to various dispensaries. They have a lot of different vendors with some great deals on furniture also. The people that work there and the owner are great. There is a huge selection of home décor and collectibles. I love its unique style, affordable prices, one if kind items, and helpful staff who always pawn my items for a little extra cash when I need it. I just had a horrible experience with one of the employees. I bought a large number of CDs at a special price. I came now for a second time to get more CD's but the employee told me that I cannot get the deal again. He told me he is losing money with the deal I got from the other employee. Now I am angry and left the property. However, the reason I came back a second time was that I had to go to the bathroom. But the bathroom is closed for customers. I will go back to Pickers Paradise because I had good experiences there, but that particular employee is a nightmare. If they are too lazy to sanitize the bathroom, they should mention it at the entrance, but they don't. Previously I've been here with mixed experiences, but my latest venture was outstanding and I found just what I needed! It seems as if there are new owners or at least new management, and they are doing an exemplary job at stocking all the right stuff and hiring top notch salespeople. I went in looking for a table for a new TV with very wide feet, and ended up buying a much nicer slightly used TV and blu-ray player for about what I spent for the 'new' TV. Got a little bit of a discount, too, which was greatly appreciated. Not only did I get a great deal I got a wonderful education on current tech information. This business advertises larger pieces (furniture) on Craigslist. When an individual calls for measurements (which seems like something one should put in the ad), there is great confusion over which piece it is, pricing, color, etc. I had asked if they could hold the piece while I traveled the 40 minute drive. They initially said yes, then called back to say the vendor does not allow holds to be placed on popular items. Interestingly enough, this "popular item" had been on Craigslist for 11 days! Seems very unprofessional. I think they mostly are a pawn shop that tries to be an antique/vintage store with little success. There are many other options for shopping in the Rogue Valley! I would give this place five star but I usually leave earlier than I thought because of the terrible music they play. Makes me feel really ignorant to be there very long. I forget about it and stop by to look for something and then I got to get out of there. Any place that plays new country music I just can't support. I'm serious, you think I'm joking? There was a coffee shop that was in Ashland for years and they started playing new country... It warded off people that liked to go there to write. I loved this place!! So many cool things to buy but not enough time or money to do it with!! I did find a gorgeous stained glass table lamp and bought it for an unbelievably low price!! My grandson loves to shop there (with my $ of course). Buyer Beware. I have been a customer for over 12 years. My wife and I stopped there to review their furniture. Great salesman, very helpful. It looked like we had a good fit for a dining room set. As soon as we got home and re-measured our space for the set we wanted we realized it would not fit, nor the other set we was interested in. So we called right away to cancel the order. We were told that we needed to come in for a refund by the manager. My wife went there the very next day and spoke to the manager Nick. Very helpful, first Nick threatened her with a re-stocking 25% fee (bare in mind we had not taken delivery yet} which he pointed out in the purchase slip/order. This was in less than 24 hours of purchase. There was no stock removal so how does he think he needed to charge us for none delivery? So he says "he'll let it go this time but no favors in our next purchase". Does he seriously think we would come back? We have lost all confidence with them. They just gained the worst kind of referral that a business trying to grow could have. And lastly I'm looking into the BBB and filing a formal complaint. As a business they have a major issue to address. Phoenix needs good retail outlets but sadly Pickers Paradise falls short on trust under this management.
