It stocks lots of good basic items that most people use everyday at low prices. The store is usually not overly busy and with plenty of parking it is easy to get in and out quickly with all the products you need. It's nice to have this store on the southwest side of town because that's far away from many other stores. So for people who walk this is a great neighborhood store.

Although this Big Lots location and many others are permanently closing, I would like to share an…read moreexperience I had at the Franklin, IN store. 30 minutes before closing, a male employee yelled throughout the whole store-- "We are closing in 30 minutes please take your selections up to the front" and continued to yell it very loudly 2 more times over the next 20 minutes (not speaking over an intercom). Even the other shoppers were looking at each other disconcertedly because of how loud the employee was yelling. Another female employee with black glasses was also coming around and reminding people but I wasn't affected by her until I came up to the front. It turned exactly 7 o'clock. I took two items out of my cart before going 4 feet up to the register and the same female employee approached me in a very rude tone saying-- "We are LITERALLY closed. You need to leave now". As someone who works in the service and healthcare industry, I've never spoken to any customer in a manner quite like that. I didn't approach the store minutes before they close. I was reviewing my items in the cart and actively approaching the register. The Big Lots store in Columbus however, is managed in a much better way and they don't yell throughout the store. As for those employees in Franklin's Big Lots, they will leave a bad impression for the last people to ever shop in a Big Lots store. Despite loving my purchase, the customer service was very disappointing.

It's all at a great price and the stock is constantly changing. The staff is friendly and helpful and I always have a great time roaming the aisles in search of kitty litter and pop tarts. Also they always have fresh popcorn to munch on as you walk through the store! Not much is free these days but the popcorn is. On this day we needed plants for the garden and few other small things and were able to find them all there. They have onion sets by the pound for the garden as well and we picked up some of them. They always have chicks this time of year as well and those are fun to look at. We also purchase our water softener salt here. I always take a stroll through their clothes and boots as well. I bought my last pair of boots here. We will continue to patronize this business and this is the closest location to us.

What's not to like about a store where everything inside of it is only $1, lol. They also stock various gifts and a large selection of birthday and other cards to send to friends and family. The store is normally busy. The parking lot is huge with plenty of spaces. The staff is normally friendly and helpful, and they try to keep the shelves stocked as quickly as they can.

I was shopping for a particular color of a dress and I did not find it but still found a pretty skirt, shirt, and jeans. It has been a long time since I shopped in a Marshall's and I had forgotten that they had food items and cookware. I ended up purchasing a few items including cookies and hot sauce. It was interesting all of the cookware available and home decor items. The skirt I purchased was on the clearance aisle so I thought it was good price wise. When I got up to the counter there were a couple people in front of me but I did not wait long as they had enough cashiers to help get everyone through the line pretty quickly. The line behind me grew and they called another cashier up to help out. I will stop in again to get my fill of snacks.
