Finally got around to one of the stores I have been waiting to review. The Dollar General Store is…read morea store where you can buy your typical snacks, toys, and even clothing from. They have your kitchen needs as well, but keep in mind it's not a full blown culinary store by any means. I like The Dollar General Store in Eastbrook Plaza, but the State Street location is in shambles. They have basically a lot of things that you would need, (when the items are stocked). Tends to be a lot of new faces when I walk in there each time, so it seems as if they are struggling from a horrible turnover rate. When the store is actually stocked, it's pretty organized, but here lately, they can't keep help nor anything on the shelves. One of the workers are usually eating or not readily available. The floors are always disgusting and in need of a complete restoration. There are little pieces of the tiling missing, so you know it's time for a repair. I don't understand how corporate has allowed this to go on for so long? I remember 2 weeks ago when the store closed early and I knew it wasn't a holiday, but I later found out they ended up closing early because they were short of help. I believe that instead of continuing bad service, it's best to close the store down, remodel, get a new crew, train, and then reopen. I believe it will be better maintained, and the customers will have a much better appreciation for the store!

Actually negative stars. I went there to buy some things and in mid-transaction the computers…read moreglitched, so they had to be rebooted. Ok, it happens, no problem. Once the computers were running again I asked for a receipt. I wanted to make sure the interrupted sale was not charged to me. The cashier said that it wasn't charged to me. I still wanted the receipt as proof. The cashier said no charge to my account. I asked again for my receipt. The cashier started to get rude. I asked again, now she is yelling at me. The managers came out to see what was going on. I again asked for my receipt. The cashier explained about the computers to the mangers. I asked for my receipt. The mangers get rude and start to tell at me. It comes down too where I call the police. They show up. The cashier and mangers must have lied to the police. ( The police talked me outside and the dollar general people inside) . The police comes out and tells me I'll be arrested if I come back to the store. I was confused. I told him that I wouldn't be caught dead in that lying thieving store. I also told him I hoped he enjoyed the kickback he got for hassling me. He did get my receipt and gave it to me. He said have a nice day. I told him I'm posting this and hoped he could live with himself.

Mediocre store. Always have to crawl over stock that's sitting in the isles, which is a tripping…read morehazard waiting to happen. No items on the shelf because it's on the stock waiting to be put back. One person working, which causes slow check out times and is impossible for them to put stock away. Could be q good Store if management properly staffed the store to have the stock put on the shelf and remove the clutter from the isles.

This is my first venture into a Dollar General store. When you are in desperate need of something,…read morethey probably have it. And they are the closest store servicing the lakes for miles around. We have picked up everything from a space heater to ice cream. They carry some name brands such as Starbucks. Prices are a little higher for the local convenience. The store located at the Nineveh Road entrance to Princes Lake is a new addition this year. The staff is friendly and helpful.

Great to have this store in the area. Sell things like groceries as well as other home goods.read more
