Inside, there is a central aisle that leads back into the collection of antiques. The front of the store has local sports themed items, collectibles (Hummel and others), and some seasonal items. About midway into the store, the checkout counter is on the left. There are also displays of Bass Farms products (lotions and such). Towards the back are some lamps and quilts among the other items. Some of the items appeared to be newer than antiques, so I found it to be a nice/neat collection of assorted items. Maybe it won't appeal to those simply looking for strictly antiques or for bargain hunters looking for cheap stuff. They have your kitchen needs as well, but keep in mind it's not a full blown culinary store by any means. I like The Dollar General Store in Eastbrook Plaza, but the State Street location is in shambles. They have basically a lot of things that you would need, (when the items are stocked). Tends to be a lot of new faces when I walk in there each time, so it seems as if they are struggling from a horrible turnover rate. When the store is actually stocked, it's pretty organized, but here lately, they can't keep help nor anything on the shelves. One of the workers are usually eating or not readily available. The floors are always disgusting and in need of a complete restoration. There are little pieces of the tiling missing, so you know it's time for a repair. I don't understand how corporate has allowed this to go on for so long? I remember 2 weeks ago when the store closed early and I knew it wasn't a holiday, but I later found out they ended up closing early because they were short of help. I believe that instead of continuing bad service, it's best to close the store down, remodel, get a new crew, train, and then reopen. I believe it will be better maintained, and the customers will have a much better appreciation for the store!

This is a moderately large and orderly antique/collectible shop. There are some large items…read moredisplayed at the front (a baby grand piano and a number of old gas pumps), but otherwise, the shop is arranged in rows of booths. I was impressed that the booths were all well kept, not filled with junky stuff that someone would find at a flea market or garage sale. Well, maybe some of that stuff, but generally there was a better quality of items than I've seen at a lot of places. There seemed to be a fair amount of furniture and oil paintings. There were Coca-Cola and some Barbie items too. However, the number of pure antiques was relatively low. I'm also a fan of the Self Checkout makes for a much quicker simpler trip in and out. They definitely keep this location clean and stocked. So far no complaints. Oh I definitely recommend taking your time and checking all end caps and clearance isles for some good deals!
