But it's been in steep decline and with the arrival of HEB to the area, we woke up and are examining the grocery landscape we've been blind to. We since have been coming here and we are very pleased! For starters, this place looks immaculate, totally spotless, so orderly and neat it's amazing. We even said "this place is roughy the same age as the Kroger up the road and this proves Kroger has no excuse to look so dilapidated, when THIS is possible in roughly the same area". It's so orderly, I couldn't help but even straighten up the voids I made in the products as we shopped like I worked there! Haa! I just respected it, you know? Anyway, the prices are on average a bit lower too, some by a lot! I believe the reason is they don't dabble in the annoying point system or the apps to try to hook shoppers into a "marriage" of sorts the way everyone does these days. To not even try to game shopper's behavior or try to track them at all they don't have to invest in it, so everything is straightforward and they have a lower overhead. I LOVE it. I'm done with having Kroger hook me into buying gas from them in a loop of trying to get the most out of points nonsense. Winco is the simple old way and I've missed it (and a little annoyed at myself for missing out all these years, but no more)! The checkout is great, staffed far more "human" than Krogers, and even have the choice in paper/plastic to optimize your sacking. The employees straight-up seem frankly happier to be there, and authentically, not robotically acting out a script. A nice bunch. They surely must be to actually try as hard as they do and it shows by just looking around. I could go on and on, we were very analytical about our "change-over" and we doubtless will be checking out HEB when they finally open, but regardless how good they are too, Winco has TOTALLY won us over and we will be coming back here regularly for good! There was such a rude lady working today at 5:45. I took my 9 year old sister with autism to buy a…read morecouple of toys and something at the register caught her eye. It was a toy in a clear case. My sister who doesn't speak much stated "I want that one." She was referring to the toy she had in her hand that she was looking at. This rude old lady tells my sister who is a child "you have to buy 4 reusable bags to get that." She did not have to respond to my sister that way nor did she need to make us feel so unwelcome. I then asked if they sold any they said they had some in the toy section. I go look can't find any I go for help and she's immediately helping other customers that were at the register purchasing wondering where an item was. She could have offered to help. She told me one moment I just left. She does not value her job and is rude to my sister with AUTISM who couldn't have known any better. Do better she's just a kid.

I picked up some brushes with inspirational messages engraved on them, games (I love that they have mancala and connect 4) and silly putty. Five below has a great selection with reasonable prices. This place is worth checking out when you are in the area.

This time I was vigilant and watching the price, but still something slipped by and I was charged double than what was advertised. I had gotten home before I saw it, so I'm sol because I am not able to drive all the way back. Also, the cart that the cashier put my groceries into did not have a quarter in it, so I had to run inside and get my quarter back! That means I had to leave my children in the car (I had already loaded everything and everyone into my vehicle) while I'm waiting for her to finish the transaction she was working on. The third issue with this location, they have higher prices on coffee and other items than the location I normally visit. Crazy because they're both within 20 minutes of each other! I guess Alliance can justify charging more all-around because people just pay it and don't argue. It's just not worth my effort to shop at this location. I can just shop closer to home and save myself the cart shuffling and price corrections, as well as gas.

The Dollar Tree had wintergreen alcohol and I was extremely glad to find it. Plenty of other food, beverages and frozen items.
