Where else can you get all of this stuff in one stop? Get real- Certainly not at "the Pig" or Pick 'n' Save! Dine In- there are a small number of tables and Madison Ave. Market serves breakfast for insanely low prices. Coffee is like, $.80! They do eggs and such, but why not try a Feta omellette? Lunches and Dinners offer a variety of sandwiches, pizzas and pastas. They also do Carryout- just call ahead! Burek- this deserves its own category! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Burek This specialty, done Albanian-style, is enough of a meal on its own. And incredibly delicious! They offer chicken, beef, spinach, or spinach and feta. We got a frozen spinach and feta burek to go, and the owner Julia was so nice to tell us exactly how to bake it when we got home. My son and I devoured it. Alcohol- okay, South Milwaukeeans, they also carry beer in the refrigerated section- I knew you'd want to know about that. Yes, this is in my hometown, and may not be long for this world. The streets of old S.M. tend not to hustle and bustle too much, and although I grew up with plenty of Albanian and Greek classmates, Xenophobia still rules in much of S.M. (No, that does not mean you love Xena, the Warrior Princess). The owners live in Franklin and dreamed of opening up a shop. This is their American Dream and it does not matter where they came from, to dream this dream. They do a great Burek business, catering to the large grocery chains, so that may in the end, save them. But why not pay them a visit, grab some beer and Burek, give them a friendly smile and some friendlier dollars? It's the American Dream.

Confetti Crunch: Birthday cake flavored desserts can really take the cake, or they can leave me…read morecrying (like it's my party and I'll cry if I want to). Opening the box let out a sugary and cakey aroma. The pieces of cereal are squares and resemble Cinnamon Toast Crunch (or more accurately Sugar Cookie Toast Crunch). Each square has red, white, and blue sugar crystals. I suspect this is a nod to the 4th of July and America's "Birthday" as the cereal was released around that time. Appearance wise, my only real complaint is the squares have a somewhat anemic appearance as if they're too light in color. As far as taste, again think Sugar Cookie Toast Crunch, bit with just a hint of cake flavor. I wish the cake flavor was a little stronger, but for my first Great Value cereal, I've got to say, I was impressed. Doughboy approved Doughboy_Food_Reviews My Favorite Sugary Cereals: 1. Cinnamon Toast Crunch (as well as Sugar Cookie and Tres Leches Toast Crunch) 2. Waffle Crisp 3. Frosted Flakes 4. OREO O's 5. Cap'n Crunch

We have hit some decent granola and tortilla chips, nuts, sauces, milk, eggs, bread. I haven't shopped the meats much. I do appreciate having one so close. It is worth the separate trip. Give them a try. Be ready for the aggressive check out tho. They throw your stuff and move like lightening. You end up feeling like you're holding something up somehow even when you're not. I always bring my recycle bags and get out of their way ASAP , but I never have a visit where I don't feel badly for some elderly person who seems overwhelmed with the process of check out and I do believe they all know it's coming. It's just a bit much for them. And that will be me someday. But for now --I just wish I could help them somehow. PS You also need a quarter to use a cart and you'll get it back when you return the cart. Do an elderly a favor and give them your quarter and take their cart. That will help them from having to walk it back.

First, you need a quarter to get the shopping cart. Second, you have to have your own grocery bags. There isn't a big choice in brand names, they have one type of canned beans, one type of boxed macaroni and cheese and so on, but the prices are very low for what they have in here. Their generic label products are suspiciously like the name brands the labels look like... close enough that I wonder if the products here are coming from the same factories. You'll have a better experience here if you come at off peak times.
