These "dollar" stores are awesome! You can always buy something you normally do at a much lesser amount...like $1!

Opening the box let out a sugary and cakey aroma. The pieces of cereal are squares and resemble Cinnamon Toast Crunch (or more accurately Sugar Cookie Toast Crunch). Each square has red, white, and blue sugar crystals. I suspect this is a nod to the 4th of July and America's "Birthday" as the cereal was released around that time. Appearance wise, my only real complaint is the squares have a somewhat anemic appearance as if they're too light in color. As far as taste, again think Sugar Cookie Toast Crunch, bit with just a hint of cake flavor. I wish the cake flavor was a little stronger, but for my first Great Value cereal, I've got to say, I was impressed. Doughboy approved Doughboy_Food_Reviews My Favorite Sugary Cereals: 1. Cinnamon Toast Crunch (as well as Sugar Cookie and Tres Leches Toast Crunch) 2. Waffle Crisp 3. Frosted Flakes 4. OREO O's 5. Cap'n Crunch

We have hit some decent granola and tortilla chips, nuts, sauces, milk, eggs, bread. I haven't shopped the meats much. I do appreciate having one so close. It is worth the separate trip. Give them a try. Be ready for the aggressive check out tho. They throw your stuff and move like lightening. You end up feeling like you're holding something up somehow even when you're not. I always bring my recycle bags and get out of their way ASAP , but I never have a visit where I don't feel badly for some elderly person who seems overwhelmed with the process of check out and I do believe they all know it's coming. It's just a bit much for them. And that will be me someday. But for now --I just wish I could help them somehow. PS You also need a quarter to use a cart and you'll get it back when you return the cart. Do an elderly a favor and give them your quarter and take their cart. That will help them from having to walk it back.

First, you need a quarter to get the shopping cart. Second, you have to have your own grocery bags. There isn't a big choice in brand names, they have one type of canned beans, one type of boxed macaroni and cheese and so on, but the prices are very low for what they have in here. Their generic label products are suspiciously like the name brands the labels look like... close enough that I wonder if the products here are coming from the same factories. You'll have a better experience here if you come at off peak times.

On weekends, everything in the store is 1/2 off. You can't do any better than that. Go in knowing you have to give a little to get a little. We have shopped here for years. We appreciate the value.

The floors looked dirty and the wares were haphazardly piled on top of each other on the shelves. The prices also seemed high, but I'm not sure if they have some sort of discount based on tag color or something. There was a lady making a bunch of noise tossing sporting goods merchandise around as I thought she shopped, but later on I ran across her in another area of the store throwing plastic toys around and realized that she was an employee. Based on this one visit, I don't plan to come back.

Also hats, gloves and the like. Be prepared to check the merchandise to make sure it's legit. I purchase some mascara and when I arrived home, they were completely broken! I unscrewed and pulled out the top and there were no brushes to even use the stuff! So, again just check your items. I can't really blame BCF for this, they just buy closeouts in bulk. And as long as it's not a lot of effort to return, I guess this will happen given the nature of this business. I'd definitely go back to shop again. Great place for housewarming presents, too! They also have toys and shoes. Really a variety of things to shop for.
