If I could give less stars, I certainly would. This store is horrible, and the leprechaun like…read moremanager could use some basic customer service training. The store is never clean, the aisle are always crowded with product and the products are constantly near or have already expired. Recently, I placed a very large internet order to have shipped to the store. I received multiple emails telling me that the product had arrived, this was verified by calling their customer service line. After making multiple in person visits to pick up said product, I then just started calling as this manager was just simply the rudest person I think that I have ever dealt with. Not once did he ever ask what it was that I was waiting for (perhaps it was mislabeled or misplaced, that would be using too much critical thinking, which is obviously not a pre-req for the position). So luckily, their customer service is going to do a total refund for my order. I think that the store misplaced my items, which is not surprising if you have ever been into this store. It is worth traveling to other nearby cities not to experience the disappointment that is this store. I know that I will not be spending any additional money here anytime soon.

Customer service is bottom of the barrel when it comes to the corporate world. The ice bay has been empty on numerous occasions for as long as a week, when the across town store always has stock. On 100F+ summer days, it seems like a no-brainer to keep the bin filled. Long lines are standard, and I have never seen more than 1 checkout clerk whenever I visited. On my last visit, I waited 5-10 minutes, along with 4 other customers, while the manager rang up a customer and did balloon fill orders. The clerks work in slow motion and seem delighted when a customer leaves, lessening their work load. The manager seems bitter and uncaring. Processing a return is lengthy, and employees seem poorly trained with sarcastic comments. They win, because as a customer, I don't want a repeat visit; You need to have time to waste to shop here. This chain will likely only survive in poverty stricken areas where shopping choices are minimal for a survival mode budget. On the brighter side, I think the store would be an easy hire for someone desperate for some type of work, as the company service standards are so low.

Over about 43 years I've come through Shingletown with family, friends and on my own to points abroad. My parents moved near here in 2003 and I have been near now for 2. Of the Shingletown store, I can say this. Not all the employees have been rude arseholes but many are. They haven't always excessively over charged but they have always overpriced and now they are price gouging, not price marking and randomly changing prices on patrons. To boot, I'm all for redemption and someone getting on their feet but it also seems that over time quite a few employees tend to maintain their meth habits.
