I came here to pick up some snacks and drinks for my stay and anything else that might have tickled my fancy. With this interesting building the layout of the store was much different. It took a minute to figure out the layout, but when I did I was off to the races. I went through and picked up a bunch of snacks, some items were well organized together with like items. Other areas were a little lacking in variety. The staff here were amazing. I made it to the check out line and the employee was some warm and welcoming. She was so pleasant and if you were having a bad day, you definitely will have that switched around.

I found the prices were fair and the convenience incredible. It actually made my life easier as a teacher. This year our school was hosting a family event and my colleague and I needed to pick up a few things for our event. We both pulled in at the same time 7:45pm when someone ran to the front door and hung up a sign that said CLOSED. I parked and got out of my car and walked to the front doors the store hours clearly stated open until 9:00pm. I knocked on the front and side door and no one answered. At 7:55pm two men exited the building and stated that one of them had to go to another job and could only work until 8:00pm. The next day I called the manager and was told that he is away on deployment and the assistant manager was rude and said that having the wrong hours on her store job was the least of her worries and asked if I would like a job. I will never shop in the Tannersville, NY Dollar General ever again. It was made extremely clear that my business was not needed, I now see why so many were against this chain building in our town.

I wish they would restock the dry/wet cloth mop again since I broke my last one. We also get all party supplies, including items for the cats. If you have Airbnb it's so easy to find games, puzzles and season decor that the customers will love! During quarantine, puzzles and fun projects are a must!

Of course, a lot of it is in the low end, but it's a dollar store after all. For example, I got 3 ice cube trays for $2 and a 3-pack of little plastic baskets for $1.50. The baskets are flimsy, but for my purposes, they're fine. Update: Not many items are actually a dollar, so don't be followed by the store name. Also some stuff isn't cheaper here than at Price Chopper up the road. Bought printer paper "on sale" for $2 for 200 sheets, but it was regular priced at $5 for 500 sheets at Price Chopper. So it evens out to the same price, but don't always assume that you're getting the best deal just because of the store name.
