Last week I fell, not in the store or on their property, I got some pretty gnarly abrasions and a bit of a cut and needed to ice my knee down quickly. WF has ice in the front, so I went there and grabbed a small hot bar (yum yum!), I sat at the tables outside, which are a great place to eat the ready made hot foods, in particular the chicken in sweet chili sauce. I digress, within a few minutes a sweet young man stopped and asked if I was okay, I told him what happened and assured him I didn't fall at WF. He went back to work, a few minutes later another staff came out with a roll of paper towels and asked if she could do anything for me, I thanked her and said I was fine. Not more than a few minutes later another employee came out to check on me. Yes some foods are expensive, yes, it can be busy there but the bottom line, this is neighborhood, this is community and this is the human experience. Thumbs up Whole Foods Waterman!

I've seen what the local grocery chains and the warehouse stores have, and the quality really can't compare, and at $5/lb less than those places, it seems even that much better. But let's talk about service, the real win here. The gentleman behind the counter asked me how he could help me, and I told him what I was looking for. He showed me big hunks of meat, ready to be sliced how I want it. And boy did I put that to the test. I went home with two 1.5" thick porterhouse steaks, and even a couple of NY Strip steaks. I watched as this gentleman carefully trimmed the excess fat off the cuts, and packaged them with the care that someone puts into a Christmas present for their favorite person. Indeed, it felt to me that I was his most important customer. You cannot go wrong spending your money here. In fact, I highly recommend that you do! Thanks folks for your awesome service and product. Edit: I grilled up one of the Porterhouse steaks with Montreal Steak seasoning, and used some apple wood chips for smoke flavor... It was literally the Best Steak I've ever had. The store is clean, organized, and surprisingly efficient considering how busy it gets. One thing I really appreciate is that they actually staff the registers properly. There always seem to be plenty of cashiers working, so even when the lines look long they move quickly. You're not standing there questioning your life choices while someone argues over coupons for 20 minutes. The parking setup is also a huge plus. Having the garage parking with the elevator right up to the main level makes things incredibly easy, especially on busy weekends or bad weather days. Way less stressful than circling around crowded lots hoping someone backs out. The employees have always been friendly too, which honestly makes a difference. The whole place has a good energy to it. Quick shopping trip or full grocery run, this location just works. Definitely one of the better additions to Providence in recent years.
