Not my first time in a market with Publix, but definitely the first in quite a while. So I admit, I…read moream struggling with the Publix format having come from two successive Kroger markets. This store in particular is fairly large with a pretty expansive format, but a lot of the merchandising left me confused. For instance, I was looking for lemonade, and I noticed that it is carried in 3 to 4 different locations across the produce juice and deli sections. It made it extremely frustrating trying to figure out whether or not they carried Milo's lemonade, which I eventually discovered they carried every milo's product except the lemonade??? Not really sure what the rationale behind that is given the lemonade is the most popular sku in the brand. Anyway, I digress. The second thing that I find a little challenging with Publix is understanding what the actual deals are standing at shelf. I couldn't really tell what was on sale, what wasn't and what the real values were. I'm assuming this information is probably buried in a sales flyer, which I probably need to pick up the next time. That being said, I found overall service in the store to be decent but even given the number of employees walking around in the store I don't think I've was ever really been greeted or offered help without asking first. Definitely a location and a brand that is going to have to grow on me.

Standard procedure, but they lost a customer because we decided not to stay in Savannah. I'd never heard of Parker's, but apparently they're some kind of chain, like Royal Farms up north. The bathroom had signs on the door about needing a key, but the kid behind the counter seemed confused when we asked for it. It wasn't locked, so maybe take down the signs? The ladies room door was partially blocked by boxes. I'm not above using the men's room, especially when it's a single stall bathroom, but we were able to squeeze into the ladies. The sink was interesting. Someone had tagged the trashcan. We grabbed some coffee, ice for Jeremy's insulin cooler, and some gas. It was a fairly lackluster experience.

Counter service was less than friendly. However, there is a catch 22 to gas attendants or cashier. Either they are too friendly or not friendly enough. I have been to dozens of ALDI locations across the country, and this one fits right into that pattern. The layout, the pacing, the no‑nonsense efficiency all line up with what I have come to expect, which honestly makes shopping here pleasantly predictable. I had no trouble finding the snacks and sandwich makings I wanted. Everything was right where it usually is, which made the whole visit quick and straightforward. I did skip the Aisle of Awesomeness this time. It was a bit cluttered when I arrived, and since I was focused on getting in and out, I decided to leave the treasure hunting for another day. Checkout was as easy as ever. A quick scan, a quick payment, and then popping everything into my reusable bag before heading back out. ALDI keeps the process simple, and that simplicity is part of why I keep returning. [Review 1641 of 2025 - 881 in Georgia - 25189 overall]
