I came in to get drinks and saw that they were 3 for $11. Unfortunately, I didn't read all the way thru before checking out. I went back in with my coupon to let the guy know, that checked me out, that it still charged me full fee on one of the 12 pks. I asked him why didn't he tell me at the register as I was checking out? His response was ". It's my first day back, I didn't know." Then he said "Maybe you should read it!" It wouldn't have been a big deal but the way he said it was so sarcastic. He started walking away from me as I was trying to let him know that we were both in they wrong but he just made the go away gesture as I was telling him this. As I was leaving he thru in another sarcastic remark, "You need to read!", I told him to "Shut Up! This did not have to happen if he didn't start making rude comments. I was definitely getting ready to say to him that I myself should have read the advertisement better but he was already in defense mode. Yes, I should have just let it go but I wanted to let them him know just in case someone bought the same drinks. You would think with him working there he would already have been informed about having to have a coupon. I believe that as long as he works there that it will happen again. I was trying to calm down the situation but he didn't want to hear what I had to say. When I came in with the receipt his eyes got real big. All I wanted to do is inform him of what I saw. I wasn't trying to start something but he was. That's not how an employee should talk to a customer and no I'm not saying "The customers always right". Like I was trying to tell him, we are both wrong but he didn't want to hear it. I will now go out of my way to go to another Dollar General because of this. I will never go back in to this particular store. Unfortunately, I did not get this kids name. read more
