After shopping at Marc's for many years, I was shocked last week when I noticed the prices on many…read moreitems jumped 20%, 30%, 40%, and more. American cheese went from $3.99/lb to $5.99/lb. Chicken Salad from $3.99/lb to $6.99/lb. The same with all the Deli meats, most produce and everything else. It is as if they purposely are trying to put themselves out of business. Many brands and type of items are no longer available. I have read that their supplier went out of business and they are desperately paying top dollar for everything and passing it on. I now see that other nearby stores are much less expensive and that Marc's no longer offers a reason to go there anymore. With the tariffs looming on the horizon, I don't see how they can stay in business much longer.

How come there are 6 self-checkouts, however customers are not allowed to use them now? Corporate makes the already over-worked employees (mainly one) check people out on the self-checkout machines. Last time I went, that caused a line because one employee worked on the self checkout machine while the other 5 or so were closed while it was super busy. People around me were starting to complain. If it's the fear of theft, I have an idea. Open up the self-checkouts and have an employee check receipts and items to make sure that they match up.

Then the shoes gave me athletes foot but I deserved that. Huge selection of metal CD's but I was surprised that the same dude who sold me super cheap Motorhead shoes had no idea who Insurrect was (local metal rips). There was a lot of other regional stuff though (Homostupids, Guns) and the stoner metal section was worthy of many bong rips. Worth the drive from the west side at least once a month.
