The check-out clerk was friendly and efficient; products went through at their correct prices. Parking was free and plentiful, and the small shopping center where it's located is easy to access as there is a traffic light off Rte. 33. We appreciate that patrons at any Food Lion location can earn/redeem incentives through their MVP Shop & Earn Monthly Rewards Program.

Caution: Sales Associates in this store treat customers like thieves…read more The Primo water bottle collection site in front of the store has been broken for at least 5 years. When you return empty bottles, the machine does NOT provide a return ticket. On several occasions, my husband has been asked by the lead Sales Associate for his exchange ticket. We have briefly interacted with this lovely woman for years; however, the fact is she knows the Primo machine does not provide exchange tickets when she's asking you for the ticket. On another occasion, a younger Sales Associate did the same thing and then told my husband they are trying to make sure people are being honest. We cannot drink our well water and purchase Primo exchange bottles at Food Lion routinely. To avoid this accusatory encounter, I have now resorted to self-checkout. To do so, simply search for the product by typing "Primo" and select the 5 gallon exchange. The lead Sales Associate will still give judgmental looks, but she can't do anything about self-checkout personal accountability. The honor system does not work if you're going to routinely accuse your customer base of theft. Fix the Primo exchange machine and then you will fix the problem.

I did my initial once over of the housewares section. Wasn't expecting to find much here but was pleasantly surprised when I came across not one, but two items I had been looking for. Of course they were at decent, reasonable prices. Items I had been looking for for a minute, but didn't want to spend that much for. Grabbed those and then went to go look at the clothing. Having narrowed down what I was looking for shirt wise it wasn't hard to spot the brands I had just snagged without having to try them on. Found three more shirts here and made my way to the gauntlet. I made it through there without being tempted to grab an item that was not needed. The girl working the register looked like she had already seen enough for the day and it wasn't even noon. She was pleasant to me and swear she gave me the biggest bag possible, which was appreciated since I did by some big baking pans.

Large creamer containers could be two or four/1.00. Bottles of juice could be 2/$1.00. Cottage cheese or yogurt can be as low as .10 or .25 each. There are lots of items that aren't expiring. They are inexpensive too. There is an entire aisle of cases of soda. I got 12 packs of Birch Beer (think root beer with a wintergreen flavor) soda for $7.99. The variety was unique. Soup flavors were limited and priced low. I bought the Grilled Cheese & Tomato flavor soup for 2/1.00. It tasted as advertised. There were several types of microwave soups, convenient for trips or lunches for 2/1.00. The baking area was varied and unique. There were at least 30 types of flour, including gluten. Salad dressing bottles were .50 for 8 oz and 1.99 for 16 oz. There were larger sizes too. There were unique baking flavors (eggnog) and lots of filling flavors for pies and pastries. A family of five seemed very excited about giant mayonnaise containers for $6.00. The chips and snacks were mostly inexpensive. The only section that didn't seem to have a discount were the Little Debbie's. Bottles of Gatorade were .89. Snack bag sized chips were 2/$1.00. The household row had toilet paper & other paper goods, plastic bags and containers. A 10 lb bag of ice was $1.99. The employees are friendly. The bathrooms are clean.

I guess that's the price they bought it at and then they add 10% to it so you pay that at the register. Very strange. The checkout lady was very friendly though.
