My next option was to come the following Saturday I called the store and also left a message on Indeed to possibly schedule an intetview starting the following Monday ( any day there after.) A few days later, I again received a message to accept or decline and interview 2 to 3 hours advance notice. I called the store and the manager answered. I told her my name and I was told she didn't know me. I asked if they were ran locally, or on a cooperate level. She said she found my call disturbing and was going to hang up on me. ( My husband was listening to the conversation.) Needless to say this is the strangest job search I've ever encountered.

The used photography gear is not terribly well organized, but if you're willing to dive in and brave the dust, you can find some real vintage gems. They stock newer stuff as well, including all the current Canon EOS DSLR bodies, along with a decent selections of lenses. They always seem to have a staff member knowledgeable about photography in the store; yesterday, I passed a good half hour talking shop with the man behind the counter, and walked away with a new lens at a respectable price. Their other inventory is eclectic, to say the least, but it's the kind of place to go for something unusual. I vacation in this area nearly every summer, and a stop at Glens is always on my itinerary.

They ladies do offer classes, or can tell you who does in the area. They have antique shops, puzzle store, cook ware, toy store, decor and food for purchase. Im sure I missed a few things. This is a must stop if your in the area. All the shops seemed amazing and reasonable priced. Lots of parking, and everyone was welcoming. I met a few fellow antique collectors along the way.

The inventory varies, depending on what suppliers had too much inventory of. Some items might be close to the expiration date. Many of those items are in the chilled areas at the back of the store. Large creamer containers could be two or four/1.00. Bottles of juice could be 2/$1.00. Cottage cheese or yogurt can be as low as .10 or .25 each. There are lots of items that aren't expiring. They are inexpensive too. There is an entire aisle of cases of soda. I got 12 packs of Birch Beer (think root beer with a wintergreen flavor) soda for $7.99. The variety was unique. Soup flavors were limited and priced low. I bought the Grilled Cheese & Tomato flavor soup for 2/1.00. It tasted as advertised. There were several types of microwave soups, convenient for trips or lunches for 2/1.00. The baking area was varied and unique. There were at least 30 types of flour, including gluten. Salad dressing bottles were .50 for 8 oz and 1.99 for 16 oz. There were larger sizes too. There were unique baking flavors (eggnog) and lots of filling flavors for pies and pastries. A family of five seemed very excited about giant mayonnaise containers for $6.00. The chips and snacks were mostly inexpensive. The only section that didn't seem to have a discount were the Little Debbie's. Bottles of Gatorade were .89. Snack bag sized chips were 2/$1.00. The household row had toilet paper & other paper goods, plastic bags and containers. A 10 lb bag of ice was $1.99. The employees are friendly. The bathrooms are clean.

The top of the $400 dresser I bought was covered with a runner and on top of the runner was a…read moreselection of several large lamps for sale and several Knick Knack/tchotchke items for sale. Although I looked over the dresser, opened the drawers, etc., I did not move all the lamps and many assorted knick knacks. I then paid for the dresser and made arrangements to pick it up the following day. When I returned to pick it up, there was a VERY LARGE split in the wood, ALL the way across the entire top of the dresser and way too wide to repair by any method. This major damage had been covered by the runner, the lamps and the knick knacks. So . . . Usually, normally, sellers will be transparent about damage, flaws, chips, cracks etc., and then it's up to the buyer to move forward with the purchase or not. Because the damage was so extensive, I did not think the dresser could be transported without breaking completely in two. Because the damage was hidden/concealed, I felt deceived. I pointed this out to the staff, who launched into their "no refunds" spiel before I could even finish my sentence. I was rather abruptly offered to the "opportunity" to leave the dresser (and my $400) behind if I no longer wanted it. Still, I extend Kudos to Twice Is Nice for serving seniors in need!! Thank you to the volunteers who offer their time. Thank you to the folks who donate. If an item is damaged, you don't have to attach flashing lights or a neon sign, but it's not "nice" to cover it up, then pile it high with multiple heavy items making the damage almost impossible to detect until too late to make an informed purchase decision.

I asked for a manager and the manager said there weren't any more there but the price was the one from corporate. This doesn't seem to be fair considering if I went to another register there wouldn't have been any issue about the item and would have gotten it for the price that it scanned up. I don't think this is right of Gabe's especially when I spent a lot of money on this visit. I am seriously considering returning all of what I purchased and not give them any of my money in the future for this type of customer service.
