We went early (7 am) to avoid crowds and there was no one there. We had the massive store to ourselves. They carry everything, I mean everything from bread to tomato plants, to flooring, to much much more for every home improvement or maintenance project. The prices are great. We bought six packs of tomato and petunias plants for only $1.79. We bought cases of purified water for under $4. I also picked up a couple of essential spring hanging baskets of begonias and petunias for only $8. What a deal. Their garden center is fabulous and well stocked. They were well stocked with everything except for cleaning wipes and sanitizer. But they had other cleaning products. The staff is welcoming and friendly. Check out was easy. And we even got an 11 percent rebate on our purchase. I'll be a regular.

Came in to pick up supplies for a job. Only after completing a large purchase was I immediately confronted for Apparently walking out the other day with a $10 item I had forgotten to pay for. OK no problem I'm here making purchases right now, in fact it's still in my car unotched I'll just pay fir it now. Instead I was held in an interrogation room against my will, where under threat of arrest then further, more extensive and expensive court action they extorted me to pay them $100. Refused to show me paperwork or give me a receipt.Or explain properly at the time. When I had to call the police to sort it out and explain to me what happened. After telling me how crooked they thought it sounded. I simply called up to menards to tell them the bad taste it all left in my mouth. I wanted to return the item (at face vale $10 and do no more buisness with them and get my receipts) to where the man who had me locked in the room earlier got irrate over the phone, Lied about trying to furnish me paperwork, And kept repeating the phrase "you stole". Thankfully the Helpful officer recommended a local hardware. It's unfortunate they don't carry much landscaping stuff. Worst shopping experience of my life.I don't know if the guy was drunk on power.Or what's going on in his life? But he should absolutely not be employed in the customer service industry.I feel sorry for the people employed under him. I went back and gave them the bar oil.Apparently a multi million dollar company needs the money a lot more than a guy trying to start his own business. Absolutely lost a life time customer that spent thousands of their hard earned money with you a year over a higher up having an ego trip crying theif and refusing to take accountability for calling it wrong and simply doing the right thing. Prayers that some of these hourly employs actually get to bennifit off the underhanded, rights infringing, extortion tactics you use to squeeze a dollar out of a dime from honest, hard working, loyal customers.

We need serious reforms for retailers to push for a healthier economic system where budget minded individuals can easily find options and stores can meet all wallets where they are. The food waste generated by these massive chains is a fatal flaw for our long term prosperity and avoiding today's needs.

We have spent the last year and a half roaming the back roads of the high mountains of Western North Carolina, then a week exploring rural Kentucky and now a couple of weeks exploring rural Indiana. Overall, I have come to like country people a lot more than city people. They seem gentler and sweeter and calmer and more willing to just take people as they are. They tend to fall all over my sweet little dog - and to go out of their way to help others in general. In a couple of visits to this Walmart, I also have been impressed with this store. Somehow it seems less jangly and nervous-making than the typical Walmart. And people of been very sweet to my dog. But tonight I had an encounter with a young staff woman - who may actually have been the front end manager, God forbid - that burst my little bubble. This maybe 25-ish woman with long straight black hair - whose name tag I never did see - was actually quite attractive and I was prepared to like her. I went up to the two cashiers had been helpful to me a few minutes before and asked if I could get change for a dollar for the soda machine in the hall. What tells me that this woman may have been their manager was that she threw her voice above them to answer - in a tone of voice that was absolutely devoid of any element of human kindness - "No, sorry, we don't give change." That took me quite aback. It was two hours before closing time and they were not busy. It was - and it is - hard for me to believe that this could have literally been true, that she could not open a cash register or wait until one was open for a transaction and break a dollar bill for me. I was in a good mood and I sure did not want to let this young woman's snippiness ruin my good mood. She certainly wasn't worth me getting angry or self-righteous. But it was really clear that she did not feel sorry at all. She actually seemed enjoy telling an old white man that he couldn't buy a Pepsi. So I mustered all the sarcasm at my command and simply said, "Oh, you can't make change! What a concept. Big store like this does not have the power to break a dollar bill. How silly of me." My mechanic appointment is not until the day after tomorrow, so I may end up back in the store again. If I do go in again, I will certainly try to find out her name and talk to her manager. She does not belong in Lebanon and she does not belong in any role that features customer service. If, in fact, she is some kind of supervisor or front and manager, I really feel sorry for the people who have to work under her. It's pretty clear that flaunting her power is more important to her than human relationships.

On my first visit I purchased over $200 worth of goods. Upon my arrival home I was excited to put to work a leather bound water bottle. To my disappointment, the great flood was coming out of the bottom of the bottle. Understanding that things happen, I call the next day and was greeted with understanding and it eagerness to fix the product. I was told it was going to be a two week turnaround and unfortunately I was going to be leaving out of town for two months. Upon my arrival back to the store.... I had asked if I could exchange the water bottle for other items in the store, but because the manager was not on location one of the service team members called her. This woman is truly the worst person I have ever talked to on the telephone!!!!!!! She was not willing to exchange the product, she was not willing to do a refund while I was in the store and she had mentioned that she wouldn't be there until Tuesday of the following week where she wouldn't be able to do anything until then. So gracefully, I told her I would pay for the items in cash that I had picked out while I was in there and would she be able to do a refund or a credit on Tuesday when she comes in? She angrily and aggressively replied no! I can repair the product and you can come pick it up when you return home in two months. I will never be returning to the store again!!! I don't care how nice your stuff looks. If you sell somebody a defective product and you have a returning client you should attend to their needs and wants to ensure that they remain a return client. Shame! If I were the owners of that business I'd give her the fucking boot as fast as possible!!
